How do I recover missing music after subscribing to iMatch?

I had 152 songs on my iPhone 5. I recently subscribed to iMatch so I could have access to the music on other Apple devices; iPad, iMac, etc . . . When I turned on iMatch, only 25 songs were available. What happed to my other music and how do I recover the missing song?

Where did the music come from e.g. bought from iTunes, copied from CDs ? You can only upload music to iTunes Match from a computer's iTunes, so if those songs were copied from CDs then were they in your computer's iTunes library when you subscribed to it ?
When you turn on Match on an iOS device you are effectively saying that you want to replace the music that is on that device and use what you have stored in Match instead.

    You could try contacting the iTunes Music Store Customer Service and you may be able to persuade them to sanction a second free download however they are not under any obligation to do so. The policy on lost songs is that you have to pay to download them again:
    "Once a Product is purchased and you receive the Product, it is your responsibility not to lose, destroy, or damage the Product, and Apple shall be without liability to you in the event of any loss, destruction, or damage."

    Hiya diesel, not sure why you went directly to questioning the legality of bailey's music? Plenty of people come here after their original PC has crashed, and they've tried to sync their ipod to a new PC. All perfectly legal. Just not very welcoming to ask whether she's a thief ~
    Anyhoo...if the ipod no longer has the music, bailey does need to get it from the PC it originally came from. If it's this same PC and she's looking at a blank itunes, the next step is to see if the music files are still on the hard drive:

    When one restores an iPhone from its own backup, visual voicemail is also restored. However, when one restores a new iPhone from a backup from a previous phone, the voicemails fail to restore. This occurred between my 3G to 4s, and again from the 4s to a 5s. Restoring the 4s once from its own backup resulted in voicemail recovery.
    My only explanation is that when a different SIM card is used, voicemails cannot restore as one would otherwise expect. Perhaps voicemails are inexplicably tied to their SIMs. Unfortunately, newer models of iPhones tend to use exceedingly different sizes, rendering one possible fix unpursuable. iBackupBot is the other possible solution: you can extract the voicemails from the backup and restore them onto the new iPhone individually.

    The direct "copy and paste" from the post did not work: I had to retype it :
    /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/LaunchSe rvices.framework/Versions/A/Support/lsregister -kill -r -domain local -domain system -domain user
    but then it worked like a charm!

    And btw: I turned on the "-v" option for the lsregister to see, what was going on, and saw plenty of error messages (error -10811); so I repeated the command with "sudo". After that I still saw five iPhotos. Repeating as regular user finally got rid of the redundant iPhoto entries. It looks like registering as super user may be causing this trouble.

    C: If your iTunes content is deleted...
    It might be recoverable if it hasn't been overwritten yet by fresh data.
    You need to use undelete software pre-installed before the iTunes content was deleted or while on a bootable cd/USB and a external drive to transfer the recovered files.
    D: If the hard drive doesn't work and...
    The data isn't worth spending $2000-$3000 in a ATTEMPT at recovery, then your finished
    E: If you have a "iDevice" with any content
    It can be synced back into iTunes, check at iLounge what third party software works reliably now and for your version.
    Once you log into your iTunes account, you can snyc only iTunes purchased content back from a iDevice
    F: If any of the above is too hard, or the data is of "critical importance"
    Then seek professional computer or forensic level recovery services.

    If you've used your phone as intended, your contacts have been synched with a cloud service or an app on your computer for safe keeping.  You can synch them back.  In addition, photos taken with the iPhone would have been imported onto your computer for archival and safe keeping.  You can synch them back.  Apps and purchased music, if not already in iTunes on your computer for resynching, can be re-downloaded.
    Any phone, not just the iPhone has NEVER been intended to be a storage of data, as it can easily be lost, stolen, dropped and damaged.  It's meant to be an extenion of your computer that you can take with you.  Apple realizes this and provides many ways for the user to protect his or her data.  If you, the user, failed to take advantage of this, well, you've learned a hard lesson.  Reading the User Guide is always a good thing to do.
