How do I recover/restore; iOS5 ate my stuff!!!
My apps, photos, music are missing after iOS5 Upgrade/Restore. Where are they and how do I restore all of my apps, photos and music? The only apps that were listed in iTunes was iWorks, but none of my other apps were listed. Not to mention all of the files that were associated with the missing apps and the hundreds of pages from my journal. All gone! What even worse, none of my photos and music can be found What to do? I want my stuff back!!!
I'm having the same problem. In fact iTunes reports "An error occurred while restoring this iPad (-48)." Here's what I'm doing. I cannot tell you if this is going to work or not but I will come back here and update my results.
Setting up my iPad as NEW iPad (yes, this will remove e/thing from iPad)
Tethering iPad to iTunes. Setting up Backup to use iCloud, encrypting my iPad Backup and checking the option to Sync with this iPad over Wi-Fi.
Configure iCloud.
Resinstall my Apps ... one by one.
Ugly, yes, but it'll be totally clean. Acceptable, no way. But it is what it is. I just wish this worked better and error code (-48) was better articulated.

index.dat is not one of the files used by Firefox, that is for Internet Explorer. You may need to contact Facebook to get access to your account again.
Once history and cookies are deleted in Firefox they can not be recovered. -

I have the same problem - it is maddening. I rely on this iPad for work so this is not just an annoyance! The above solutions of changing the appleid on the device or on the website do not work.
The old email address no longer exists - I haven't used it in a year probably and I no longer have the account. I logged into the appleid website and there is no trace of the old email address so there is nothing that can be deleted or changed there. On the iPad there is no trace of the old email address so nothing can be deleted there either. I have updated the iPad software and the same problem comes right back. Every 2 seconds I am asked to log in using the old non-existent email. The device is currently useless.
The only recent change to anything was the addition of an Apple TV device, which was set up using the correct login and password.
Does anyone have any ideas? The iPad has been backed up to the iCloud so presumably it now won't recognize the current iCloud account? So restoring may notbe an option? -

I began having problems with my iphone 5 after I updated to ios7. It began having several issues e.g. freezing, turning on and off by itself and the home button was not responding.
It is a long story because I had to talk to apple reps etc. to make a long story short; my iphone is now in recovery mode and only works when it is set as a new iphone.

Sorry those pics might be gone, since you restored from your backup.
Only way possible if by some possibility you were able to backup your current data to itunes, then you can restore from that backup.
Open itunes - edit - preference - devices - backup - see if there is an up to date backup.
If you don't have one then sorry those pics are gone. -

ibooks and PDFs aren't included in a device's backup, so if they aren't in your computer's iTunes library and/or you don't have your own backup copy of them then they won't be on your computer (for info there isn't an iBooks app/program for a Mac or PC). -

On the iPhone tap Settings > iCloud
Make sure Contacts is switched ON. It may take a few minutes for the data to sync via Wi-Fi.
If you are using iCloud, there's no need to connect your iPhone to a computer via iTunes to sync your contacts. -

Do you have any backup at all for your device? If you do, then you can restore from that backup and get any photos that were on it. If you have imported your photos to your computer, you can sync them back to your device via an iTunes sync. If you had Photo Stream turned on, you can recover your Photo Stream for the last 30 days or 1000 photos on that Photo Stream (whichever comes first) by signing onto the iCloud account that the Photo Stream was turned on for.
