    iCloud can do it..
    http://www.apple.com/au/support/icloud/back-to-my-mac/
    You need Lion and latest firmware on the TC..
    Were you hoping to use the ipad/iphone??  That maybe possible but I am not sure how.
    You cannot use windows without opening SMB to some strange port and this is going to mess with security.. you also need a static ip address from your ISP.. most private net users do not have this.
    You can do it via vpn.. you will need to buy a vpn router and bridge the TC to it.
    Just google remote access time capsule.. there are a zillion posts about it.

  • My router don't allow me to access a specific website

    Hi,
    I just bought the new EA4500 router and I'm experiencing problems to access the my bank website www.itau.com.br I can't access this website.
    I thought that the problem could be with Comcast, but I tested my Mac with a cable directly connected into the cable modem and it worked fine. I was able to access every site.
    It could be a problem with browser security, but I even tested with different computers (Mac, PC's, Ipad, Smartphones) and none of them were able to access the www.itau.com.br wirelessly.
    It seems something strange with the router. I tested some forum solutions (MUT, QoS) but they didn't work.
    Before I have this new router, it was working fine.
    Any idea how I can solve this to access this website?
    Thank you,
    Sid
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Thanks! It is working.
    In fact, I tried all those instructions and it did not work out.
    However, at the end of that page, there is an instruction about "Setting up a Linksys router with Cable Internet service"
    http://www6.nohold.net/Cisco2/ukp.aspx?pid=80&vw=1&articleid=3686
    which informs about a need to add the Mac Adress Close into the configuration of the router.
    After I did that, it work out!
    Thanks and best regards,
    Sido

  • WRT54G: How do I limit access to specific ports, only to local IP's

    Using a WRT54G with Windows XP, and I've setup a web server that I'm still testing. Until I understand the security better, I want to limit access from outside IP's to the port that it's running on, but NOT limit access from the outside to services running on other ports. Is there a way to block a range of IP addresses (or conversely, only permit access for a limited range of IP addresses) to a specific port? So for example (assuming server's on Port 99, and IP address to the outside world is 99.99.99.99: Port 99: Blocked IP Range: 0.0.0.0-99.99.99.98, and 99.99.99.100-255.255.255.255 - OR Port 99: Allowed IP Range: 99.99.99.99 Alternatively, I would be interested to permit access to the web server port, only for certain MAC addresses. Is this pretty secure, and if so, how can this be done? I've poked around the router settings and spent a good deal of time researching this; any help would be greatly appreciated...

    Why do you want to block IP addresses:  "IP Range: 0.0.0.0-99.99.99.98, and 99.99.99.100-255.255.255.255" ?   This is everybody on the web, except your router!    If you really want to block all these people, just unplug your router from your Internet connection.  That is a block that cannot be hacked!
    Normally a server is assigned a fixed LAN IP address.  This address must be outside the DHCP server range of your router, and it cannot end in 0, 1, or 255.
    Next you forward a port (for example, 99) to the server's fixed LAN IP address.
    Data arriving at the Internet port of your WRT54G for port 99 will then be forwarded to your server.  If you have other Internet services (i.e. server B) running on port 1297, then data that arrives at the Internet port of your WRT54G for port 1297 will be directed to server B.   Assuming that you only have port 99 and port 1297 open, then any other unrequested data (for any other port) that arrives at the Internet port of your WRT54G will simply be ignored (and thereby blocked).    If you connect another computer to a LAN port of the WRT54G, connect to the Internet, and request data, then when that data arrives at the Internet port of the WRT54G, it will be allowed to pass, and it will be routed to your computer.
    In summary, by default, all router ports are closed.  The only way to get data through the router is either to open a port (using port forwarding, or alternatively, the UPnP function), or for someone (or some program) on the LAN to request data from the web.
    The router cannot limit the use of a port by MAC address.    When you open a port on your router, you are opening your server to invasion from anyone on the Internet.  So, your server must be setup to protect itself.   Rather than limiting server use by MAC address (which can be faked), your server should be setup to require a user name and password.

  • How to create mail user who only send or receive email to local user

    I setup iplanet message server 5.2 SP1 for window 2000. It work right. But I don't know how to setup a mail user which can only send/receive email to/from local email user(user from the same message server). Thanks.

    The easiest way I can think of, would be to isolate these users to a different mail server.
    Once you isolate them, you can isolate that server so that it cannot connect to the external world, but only to your other servers, so local mail would be allowed, but not external mails.
    I can't think of any way to achieve what you're asking for in the same server that allow some users full access.

  • Unable to access a specific website

    Hello- I am trying to access a website that has my security camera DNS.  I continue to receive a server not found error message, yet when I contact the company www.nightowldvr.com, they say they are up and running.  They seem to think that AT&T has block their webisite.  How do I unblock this website so I can see my security cameras via the internet?  Thank you for your assistance.

    If you really think ATT is blocking your site, they have a form you can fill out, asking them to un-block it for you. Don't have the link handy, but should be easy enough to find.

  • Can't access a specific website

    For some reason I can't access this website:
    http://www.chandlersmillwork.com/
    I called the company looking for info on a project and they sent me the link directly in an email so I know the spelling is correct. I've tried opening the page in Safari, Firefox and even IE. No luck in any app, none of them can connect to server. I've emptied their caches, repaired permissions on my boot drive, checked that nothing was checked in my proxy settings and restarted. Still can't access it using any browser.
    I know for a fact the site is active because I've had people using different ISPs access the site and tell me it works for them, on both Macs and PCs.
    Any idea why this won't load for me?

    Haven't installed AV software or any type of parental controls whatsoever.
    216.40.227.204 just brings me to an Apache cPanel page.
    This is really strange why it won't come up for me but will for everyone else. I've never been to the site before as far as I know so I don't see any way I could have blocked it somehow either.

  • Windows 7 64bit can't access Windows 7 32bit within the local network

    Hello,
    We have one 64bit PC and ten 32bit PCs in our local office network.
    Recently the 64bit PC is unable to access some of the other 32bit PCs in random basis. When it happens, all the other PCs are unable to access the 64 bit PC.However, the 64bit PC can still access the internet without problem.
    Everything will be back to normal after rebooting the 64bit PC.
    Is there any solution about this problem?

    Hi,
    First, this is not related to  a 32 bit machine or a 64 bit machine, also I want to know how can you access the other computers, visit a shared folder or remote desktop connection? This is related a network issue.Check whether the network discovery
    is turned off, to turn on network discovery:
    1. Open Advanced sharing settings by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type network, click Network and Sharing Center, and then, in the left pane, click Change advanced sharing settings.
    2.Click the chevron Picture of the chevron icon to expand the current network profile.
    3.If network discovery is off, under Network discovery, click Turn on network discovery, and then click Save changes.
    Details about shared folder visit can be seen:

  • Account access to specific websites not working

    On my daughter's computer (iBook, limited rights account) she can no longer access Facebook and a few others. (these sites work fine with admin account on this machine) Heard that fixing permissions and/or repairing the Keychain would work... Nothing working so far. Though Safari was the culprit, but behavior same in: Firefox, Camino, iCab, Chrome. (uninstalled addn'l browsers after testing)
    What I've done to date:
    Reset Safari and empty cache
    http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=280529
    no change
    Ran Keychain First Aid and verified date and time from Apple's server
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TA20405
    no change
    matched proxy information
    http://superuser.com/questions/67472/safari-cant-establish-a-secure-connection-t o-the-server
    no change
    repair permissions as admin, then DVD, then root
    ACL found but not expected on 'private/var/root/Library/Preferences'
    ACL found but not expected on 'private/var/root/Library'
    ACL found but not expected on 'private/var/root'
    several issues with 'permissions differ but will not be changed'
    no change so far, but repair permissions from restricted account (with authorization) looks promising though I've been fooled before.
    Don't want to have to nuke/rebuild the profile. I had a similar problem on my PowerBook several years ago, and APPLCARE walked me through a Terminal fix. (All my machines are out of warranty now)
    Anyone else have ideas?

    Fix permissions did NOT work, neither did booting as Single User with /sbin/fsck... Disk Utility with iBook in Target Mode reports "The volume iBook appears to be OK."

  • Access a file which is in local network via jsp

    i try to access some files from a system in the network.
    i couldn't make it through jsp and servlet
    im using tomcat webserver.
    but in core java it works finely.
    the below r the example code...
    core java coding(It works)
    class a
    public static void main(String ar[])
      String a="//software2/d$/Daily Shipment Backup";
          java.io.File f=new java.io.File(a);
          if(f.exists())   //whether the directory exists
      System.out.println("Exists");
          else
      System.out.println("Error");
    }jsp coding
    <html>
    <%
      String a="//software2/d$/Daily Shipment Backup";
             java.io.File f=new java.io.File(a);
          if(f.exists())
      out.println("Exists");
          else
      out.println("Error");
    %>
    </html>

    Tomcat (And other JSP/Servlet containers) have security restrictions which disallow you from accessing the local/remote file system. You will probably need to modify your security policy settings
    I believe Tomcat stores this file in $CATALINA_HOME/conf/catalina.policy
    You can read more here.

  • How can I get the host adresses of all computers in a local network

    I want to learn that how can I do this with java?
    I have a solution as iterating and checking with InetAdress.getHost("iteratedhost"), if no exception such host is reachable.
    But I search for better solutions

    MulticastSocket is a good option as I shortly
    evaluated.
    ThanksThis does not allow you to find all the IP address of
    all computers on a network. It will enable you to
    send information to any computer that is a member of
    a particular IP Multicast Group.He doesn't seem to really need to know all the IP addresses. He just seems to want to "find" a server. Looks like MulticastSocket is kinda for that purpose, broadcasting a message out for someone to respond to. That response could be: "I'm the server you want - my IP address is x.y.z.a". Then he would use a normal Socket to bind to that guy. Maybe it's a good solution, maybe not. Just giving him a possible route. MulticastSocket must be good for something.

  • How can I perform a factory reset on an Apple TV over a network from another room?

    I would like to either perform a factory reset or erase user account information on a third generation Apple TV located in another room preferably over a network. This would allow me to manage the devices off site over IP with different people using the device and setting up their accounts for Netflix etc. Is this possible? I have heard of this being done without jailbreaking and I am curious to how they have done it.

    Thanks Brian. It looks like the Apple Configurator app will reset settings and account info. I will look into third party apps as well. It needs to be as simple and quick as possible as we would be doing it daily to many ATVs.
