My laptop was stolen and I need to redownload Adobe Illustrator on my new computer. Does anyone know how?

Thanks for your reply. When I installed the product on the new pc, a pop up asked me if I wanted to activate/register online. When I tried to do so a message told me that the product number was already in use. The pc on which the product was originally installed and registered no longer needs the software.

Illustrator file is not just simple one image, that there will be a single image height, width and bit depth available. Illustrator file is made of two components, one is PDF and another is Illustrator private data called PGF. PDF spec is available to everyone while PGF has very limited documentation, but both of them are vector based format, it can contain paths, images, gradient, text etc. They can have multiple pages of varied sizes and each page can have multiple images. So there is no single image height, width or bit depth for the entire file in total.

Go to System Prefs>Accounts>your name and remove Adobe from the start-up items. There should also be a place in Adobe preferences that asks if you want it to launch when the computer starts, Deselect that option.

Can anyone guide me how to check the version of the adobe illustrator document.(currently active document).
I tried using app.version which gives the version of adobe illustrator application i.e 12.0.0 for CS2.
But i want the version of the illustrator document.I tried app.activeDocument.version which gives me the undefined value.
Any suggestion on this ?????
Also please help me on the script for finding out the font type used in the document. e.g. times new roman,arial new etc.

How do you import Adobe Illustrator files to After Effects?

I had drawn an animation file in Adobe Illustrator with 8 layers each depicting an animation/drawing.
I tried importing it to After Effects, but the drawing doesn't show up.
Anyone tell me what I am doing wrong; why the drawings are not showing up on the After Effects screen?

Well I have a Windows 7. The thing is that last time I closed my Illustrator really fast and I even didn't save what I had there. After that I tried to open my Illustrator again, but it didn't open. I tried uninstalling it from CCleaner,You Uninstaller, Control Panel, and the regualr Adobe Illustrator uninstaller. Yesterday I uninstall it using "You Uninstaller 2012" but it didn't uninstall it for me, it just removed it from the list of the uninstalling programs.
I don't think it have to do with brushes / fonts, because I installed brushes long time ago and I didn't have to update it and I have the fonts long time ago + my photoshop is working well.
There isn't really any updates for my windows, but I have a "auto update" so maybe when it updated my computer, my Illustrator crashed? I don't really know.
Is there any "Adobe tool" that can fix all adobe products? or do you have any solution?

How can I install Adobe Illustrator 8, on my Windows XP 64bit?

Yes I know that this version of Illustrator is very old, but it is still more useful than the newer version for my job, so I really need to find a way for installing this software in a XP 64bit. In additions, I also use some more softwares like after effects, so I cannot change my windows to 32bit, because of the performance and better memory usage of 64bit.
For more details, the windows that I'm using is service pack 2, with Core 2 Duo processor and 4GB of RAM.

It sounds like there is some code (possibly 16-bit) in the AI 8 installer that won't run on XP 64. If so, I'm not sure there is a whole lot you can do.
You could invest in software that will let you run a virtual 32-bit machine, but if you don't already have a 32-bit OS license, costs will be prohibitive. (Win 98 will do for AI 8.)
I'm also curious as to exactly how AI 8 is "more useful" than newer versions for your job. I would never advocate upgrading just for the sake of it, but, sometimes, the practicalities associated with new hardware and operating systems simply dictate it. I can understand preferring the simplicity and efficiency of an earlier version (AI 8 runs so fast on my current system, I'm afraid I'll get whiplash), but I have to admit newer versions are more "useful."

How do I fix Adobe Illustrator PARM error?

We are on Yosemite OS 10.10.2, running CS6. When opening files in Illustrator we keep getting a PARM error. We have been unable to find a fix for this online.
We have 3 production Macs involved in a very busy agency, so this is critical.

Are you getting the error with any PDF that you open in IE, or just a certain type of PDF? You can you please try the following and let me know if you're seeing the error?
1. Launch Reader;
2. Choose Edit > Preferences > Security (Enhanced) > uncheck "Enable Protected Mode at startup";
3. Click on "OK" button;
4. Exit Reader;
5. Launch IE and open the PDF file.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, please uninstall Adobe Reader using Adobe's Cleaner Tool. The tool is available at the following link:-

then please re-install Adobe Reader using the full installer from the link mentioned below:
http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
In case, you still experience the same issue, then please provide the following information:

3. Is Adobe Acrobat installed on your system as well?
