How do I reduce image in batch process on Elements 11 or 12?

I have about a hundred photos in high resolution that I want to reduce to (the same) small image size for a website. How can I do this several (or all) at a time, instead of individually editing each one, using my Photoshop Elements 11 or 12? I cannot find an action for this in the action menu. If not possible within Elements, is there anything "free," or do I have to get Creative Suite or the like? Thanks.

In the Organizer, select all the desired photos, and then File->Export->As New File (in the dialog box that appears, you can select the size of the new files)
In the Editor, use File->Process Multiple Files

How do I reinstall images to a ADOBE PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS 9 program fro a backup CD??? computer was infected and sub sequently
repaired , reloaded ADOBE now wish to reload images from backup CD....HOW do I do it????

I'm going to assume that you have reinstalled PSE9 but now want to get your catalog back. If you created your backup using the inbuilt PSE File> Backup Catalog feature, then in the newly installed version you would run File> Restore Catalog.
If you used a third party backup tool, or just copied the image files elsewhere then a lot will depend on whether or not you also backed up, or can still access, the catalog files. Give some more detail about this 'backup CD'.

  • How to use the same (selection) paths in multiple images for batch processing?

I have a whole bunch of photos I need to batch process, but, when creating an action for this, I stumbled upon the problem that the paths I selected with the pen tool, and saved under the "Paths" tab need to be in every image for to be used in the action. I did try to solve it for some time, but couldn't figure out. Any ideas?
    Many Thanks
    Carlos

Batch processing usually involves using actions you have recorded.  In Action you can insert Path that can be used during processing documents.  Path have some size so you may want to only process document that have the same size.  Look in the Actions Palette fly-out menu for insert path.  It inserts|records the current document work path into the action being worked on and when the action is played it inserts the path into the document as the current work path..

  • How to remove existing OCR in batch processing?

I don't see that there is a way to remove existing OCR in batch processing. Could you please let me know if it is available somewhere, or it is indeed not available?

It can be removed, but not easily. If you used clearscan your only choice is to print to another file, but that does not fix anything that got messed up. You can not really back out of the Clearscan format. This is one of the reasons the warnings are given about the permanent changes you are about to do. If you used searchable OCR, then you should be able to delete the text layer and then use save as to only retain the scans.
I think that you may misread my question. I know how to remove OCR for a single pdf with searchalbe image OCR option (examine pdf then remove hidden text). But I want to do so in "batch processing" as I have many pdf files need to be processed.

  • How to "save for web" via batch processing in Photoshop elements

I have a bunch of logos that need to be resized and 'save for web." How can I process these files as a batch in Photoshop elements. Many thanks!

You can batch save them as jpgs, gifs, or PNGs using Process Multiple Files, and even batch resize them as long as they are all in the same orientation and the same aspect ratio (shape), but  the resulting files will be somewhat larger than you'd get with Save for Web because Save for Web removes the photos' exif data, which PMF won't. Since these are logos, there shouldn't be much difference.

  • Adobe Acrobat  9 Pro - How can I speed up my Batch Processing sequence

Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Version 9.0.0
My company upgraded from Adobe Acrobat 7 to Acrobat 9 recently. Now, whenever I run a batch sequence on one 2003 Word file, it takes over 20 minutes - that's one Word doc. Before with version 7, it took only a few minutes.
My Batch Sequence has only one command - the Open Options command.
    Question
What can I do to speed up this Batch Processing sequence?
    FYI
My Word doc contains no graphic - merely text with a TOC and Index.
    PS
My system has 3.50 GB of RAM

I have advanced tagging turned off.
I'm only using these two Word options:
Convert cross-ref and table of contents to links.
    Convert footnote and endnote links.

  • How to place multiple images in batch with drop shadow effects on room backgrounds at the same position?

I want to place multiple images of hand paintings with drop shadow effects on room backgrounds to make them look as if the paintings are hanged on the room walls. I know how to do it one by one, but that takes time and I want to do it in batch at once.
I am quite a beginner for adobe photoshop CS6. I belive such an automated task is possible through 'Automated Batch' function and/or 'Create Droplet' function. Kindly share your expert opinion.

If you want to go with Batch I would recommend creating an Action of more or less these steps:
    • set the resolution to the same as the background image’s
    • change the image from Background Layer to regular Layer if necessary
    • convert it to a Smart Object
    • add a Drop Shadow Layer Style to the image (do not use Global Angle)
    • place the background image (File > Place …)
    • move it behind the image layer
    • Image > Reveal All
    • make Selection from that layer’s transparency (cmd-click its icon in the Layers Panel) and use Image > Crop
    • select and transform the image layer to fit the intended position
This would naturally work out best if the images had the same size and proportions.
For the reflection on the floor duplicate the image, flip it vertically, move it in position and reduce its opacity to maybe 10%.
Realistically you may have to hide it partially behind the pillows, a Vector Mask would be an option.

  • Using Pages with iOS. How do I reduce image file size when I create a document with embedded images?

    Hi,
I have created an annual family news letter in Pages on my iPad which incorporates pictures of events, holidays, occasions etc etc. I've then gone to covert it to pdf with the intention of sharing it via email but get a warning message about the resulting file size (in this case 16Mb).
Is there any way of reducing the file size - which is obviously being driven by the images?  The pics are being pulled in from the iPad photo library.
    Thanks Mike

    (1) you are asking about Pages for iOS in a forum dedicated to Pages for OSX.
Most of us aren't using Pages for iOS so it would be more efficient to ask in the forum dedicated to iWork for iOS (at this time this discussion area isn't divided in three areas).
    https://discussions.apple.com/community/app_store/iwork_for_ios
    (2) As you understood why your file is huge, the answer is simple : reduce the size of your picture files before inserting them in Pages documents.
Drop the unneeded areas, reduce the resolution in tools dedicated to image processing before inserting them.

  • How do you reduce image to less than 5 mb

I need to reduce a simple image to less than 5 mb without losing too much quality.  How is this possible in Photoshop Touch?  I don't understand how to convert the size from pixels to mb etc
    Please help a beginner

Well, a 4000 x 3000 (about 12 Megapixels) image saved as JPEG 100% quality will average about 2.5 MB in file size. (Note how I said average depending on image.) I can't remember offhand how much PS Touch compresses an image when saved as JPEG. Maybe someone from Adobe staff can comment. There's no way of adjusting how a project gets saved other than the file type when exporting.
PS Touch can handle about 12 Megapixels max (though I've had it go as high as 4000 x 4000 in a new project).

  • How to upload RAW images from Nikon 600 into Elements 11?

Launch the Editor and click Help >>Updates
    Install Camera Raw v7.2
PSE11 ships with v 7.1 and needs bringing up to date to get preliminary support for the D600

  • How to import selected images from iPhoto 11 into Elements 9?

How do I import selected images or events from iPhoto 11 into albums in Elements 9 Organizer?  I don't want all my thousands of images in Elements.  Both iPhoto and Elements 9 are updated.

I don't use iPhoto much at all, but you can set it to use PSE (or any other real image editing app) to edit the images you store in it. Check the iPhoto Prefs (command comma) and look at the General tab. Select PSE or any other app in the "Edit photo:" pop-up menu. That way you can still keep iPhoto for storage/filing and PSE for editing. Hope that helps.

  • Save or Export Batch Processing

I have created several different batch processing in Acrobat 9 for Windows to reduce the size of PDF files as well as OCR the files.
I do the same thing with Acrobat 10 and I can easily export the processes (it's called Actions) and reimport them into another computer with Acrobat 10 installed.
My question is, how do I save/export those batch processing steps in Acrobat 9 so I can re-import them when I needed?

Thanks for the super fast reply. I found them under (it's WinXP OS):
    C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data\Adobe\Acrobat\9.0\Sequences

  • CS4 Batch processing only processes half the files!

I scan 6x6 negs on an Epson scanner and when they are done they need to be rotated 90 degrees and flipped horizontaly. I set up an action to do this (Rotate, Flip, Save and Close) and everything was going swimmingly - then recently I've started having problems.
For example - I've scanned 60 images which I select in Bridge and then open them in PS CS4. I select Automate>Batch and then select my saved action and away it goes. PS chugs its way through the 60 photo's and closes them all (so it looks like they have all been processed), but when I go back to Bridge and it starts refreshing the thumbnails only 30 of them have been rotated and flipped. So then I select the remaining 30 images and batch process them - this time it only processes 15 and so on. This is really annoying as if I get down to around 9 images it won't process any of them!
    Any ideas?
    Cheers
    Simon

Curt Y's comments sound good to me, too.
As a "test," try your action on a folder and check Bypass Open (that option should still be in CS4) and see if that handles all of the folder - after you take Curt's advice. Though Batch normally just Opens one at a time, and the computer should recover the resources used for that one on Close, it might not be happening for you.
Good luck, and let us know if anything works,
    Hunt
Also, you might want to add your full system specs. if you still have the issue. I'd pay very close attention to the I/O sub-system, i.e. the HDD's, their speed, size, free space, controller type and how they are allocated on your system.
