Not sure as to how that happened, because there is no limit to how many devices you can sync to one computer. To sync to the 2nd iPod, simply hook it up, go through the registration and setup process, and then sync away.
There are several ways of managing multiple iPods with one computer. I think your best option would be to check out this Apple support document. Hope it helps.

I recently purchased a used 20GB 4th Gen. I was told that it was possible to "re-register" an ipod. I went to https://register.apple.com/ to do so, and when I typed in the serial number on the back it told me... "This information does not appear to be in our records." I also tried, as suggested, every possible typo (S for 5 and B for 8, etc.), but still nothing worked.
Is it possible that my ipod is that old?

i got some 9951 and 894X that i would them to auto register in sip but i got some 79XX that i would like them to auto register in sccp.
at the moment, some register in sip and other in sccp. is there an option to force them to using one or the other?

Phones such as 9951 which can only do SIP will always auto register as SIP, for phone such as 79XX that can do either you define the preferred protocol under the enterprise parameters. You cannot define 2 different models that can do both protocols to behave differently.

Legally, you can't do what you're asking. iTunes purchases are for personal use and can't be resold.

Restore it in iTunes on your computer.
There is a difference between registering with Apple and using it with iTunes. To register it (which isn't necessary) you would have to get the previous owner to de-register it.
