How do I register my adobe photo shop 5 to properly use?

How do I properly download the program on my computer in order to use the program I bought?

Ab photography for information on how to register your Adobe software title please see Find your serial number quickly - http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/find-serial-number.html.  What Adobe software title are you wishing to download?

You can download it from the Adobe site as a trial version and then use your serial number to activate it to full use.

  • Aperture vs Adobe Photo Shop

How does Aperture compare to Adobe Photo shop? My usage is light mostly organizing and fixing personal photos with some usage for work in the engineering field.
    Thanks

Aperture and Photoshop are two different animals. Photoshop is a pixel editor while Aperture does global processing and provides DAM support (digital asset management). The following are some lines I picked up (and edited) for other threads in this forum - hope they help:
Aperture is aimed at being a workflow for handling raw camera images doing mostly global corrections. Photoshop is meant for handling processed images mostly and allows you to do fine local adjustments.
Global means adjustments which are applied to the entire image such as tonal correction etc whereas localized corrections are something like removing a hair out of place, doing composite images, or removing red-eye.
I'd say there's a tiny bit of overlap between the two, but Photoshop was designed for graphic designers, and photographers happened to find it powerful for pixel editing of photograph files. Aperture is intended for photographers and provides the tools and a workflow that they need. I've found others say that they new need Photoshop only 5% of the time and that Aperture (or Lightroom - Adobe's beta, soon-to-be competitor) will do the complete processing most of the time.

We purchased Adobe Photo Shop Windows with 2 licenses in December 2012.  We only installed 1 instance and would like to install the other now.  How do we look up our Activation/license information?

Assuming you got it directly from Adobe as a download, click on the red logo near the top-left of this page.  Then click the [ Manage account ] button.  After logging-in you should be able to find all the information on products you've purchased.

i recently bought adobe photo shop elemnts 12 at a local store and they told me i could use it for buisness cards to create them ..as far as i can see it does not ..and they wont let me return it so thats a 100 dollars down the drain unless someone knows how to create buisness cards with it ..please help urgent  thank you

You can download free business card templates that open in PSE at www.avery.com to conform to their paper stock.
    http://www.avery.com/avery/en_us/Search/?dimsearch=true&N=0&Ntk=All&Ntx=mode+matchall&Nty= 0&Nr=AND%28SITESCHANNELS%3AAvery.com%29&Ntt=business+card+adobe+template&x=0&y=0
After you download and unzip, double click on the template. The background layer is called "Guides".
Duplicate the background layer (Guides copy)
Place a blank layer between these 2 layers and fill it with white (or any color)
Type your text with the text tool.

  • Adobe Photo Shop

Does anyone around here use Adobe Photo Shop?? I just got it and im trying to learn it!!! It's hard, just looking for some tips and trick on how to use it.
    Thanks!!

Hi, shady. Your question is a little like asking for a short summary of Webster's Unabridged Dictionary. Photoshop — even old versions of it — is so incredibly loaded with features and capabilities, many of them deeply buried, that I suspect not five users in a hundred ever learn more than 10% of them. I certainly haven't scratched its surface, and I've used it for 14 years. The trick is to figure out which PS features are of the most immediate interest to you and then set about learning them by actually using them. Work through a couple of the introductory tutorials that come with the application, then try out the things that were interesting in them on some of your own pictures to fix those procedures and commands in your mind.
You can also head down to your nearest Barnes & Noble and look over the Photoshop books there — you'll probably find several. Resist the temptation to buy the biggest, most encyclopedic-looking one, even if you don't mind its $50-60 price: it's apt to be designed for the advanced user and to isolate one highly specialized process at a time, which won't help you at all. You want something with a ection for beginners that, when you leaf through it, seems to fit your learning style.

  • I am confused with the adobe photo shop album starter 3.0!

Hello, I have always been interested in storing pictures on my computer via my scanner or digital camera, but now I want to organise them using adobe.. However it has left me more confused.. since I downloaded it, it automatically imported pictures...but when I click on my regular photo files on my desk top, it does say adobe photo shop at the top of the picture- so does this mean it is already imported into the adobe?? as i am confused with what photos I have got where now.
In other words, I wanna make sure that all my pictures on my computer are in adobe. How do I do that ?
Excuse the daft question but I hate computers sometimes!
    Thanks

Hi again Colin(and Jim), if I got the wrong end of the stick (which it appears I did) then I humbly apologise for being oversensitive. I have had some miserable experiences in newsgroup forums before now and witnessed relentless bullying on occasions and so I may respond in a defensive matter automatically. Thank you for setting me straight :-)
On a different tack, I wonder if you could help with another PSASE problem I have. When I go to print a number of prints on one page (eg.four to an A4 sheet-which it resizes to fit for you) there seems to be a loss of quality in the images. Is there a way of adjusting the resolution within the program, or do I need to adjust them within photoshop first ?

Just found out that I can't run microsoft word or adobe photo shop with Mavericks, is there a way to make this work?

You must be using very old versions (Office 2004 or older, Photoshop CS2 or older).
Upgrade to newer, or current versions.

  • I had adobe photo shop 3.0 on an older computer.

I had the adobe photo shop installed on an older computer running the window xp os.  I would like to transfer photos from that computer to a newer one using windows 7.  Is there a free program that is available to make that possible?

Unless I am missing something, your Images are not in Photoshop 3.0, but on your computer, in the folder where you located them.
Those files can be transferred to another computer via several methods. Probably the easiest way to do so would be to hook up an external HDD to computer A, then with Windows Explorer, Copy those files (or just the folders and sub-folders, with the files) to that external. Attach that external HDD to computer B, and repeat the process of Copying the folders/sub-folder with the files over.
Depending on the number of Images, and their size, you might be able to fit them onto a large flash/thumb drive.
One could also set up a peer-to-peer network between the two computers and use Windows Explorer to Copy the folders/sub-folders and files.
Good luck, and hope that helps. If I mis-understood your situation, or your need, please let us know a bit more.

  • I have adobe photo shop starter edition 3.2

i have adobe photo shop starter 3.2- when i go to share phote window and prees to share a photo and error window come up sayin this : Error 7: Anxml parse failure occurred, (error=9, line=26, column=4

Photoshop Starter has been dead for more than 5 years. Whatever you are trying to do is probably simply a compatibility issue or the program no longer being able to contact Adobe's servers, which have been shut off long ago. Sorry, but you are wasting your time. Downlaod the trial/ purchase Elemnts 11.

  • Can newer versions of Adobe Photo Shop convert a scanned in raster pdf to a vector pdf?

Can newer versions of Adobe Photo Shop convert a scanned in raster pdf to a vector pdf?
I scanned in a paper electrical schematic to Adobe Photo Shop and want to revise it in AutoCAD but to use an AutoCAD plug in, PDFIn, it must be a vector pdf as opposed to a raster pdf.
    Is that possible?

Not in Photoshop, but you can try Live Trace in Illustrator.
You may have to try several different settings and compare the results. Also the cleaner the scan the better.
The results may vary from great to really bad.
Sometimes it is better and faster to simply recreate it Illustrator. You can use the scanned image as a partially dimmed template layer and  redraw over it on new layers.
If you really need this to work in AutoCAD, try creating a small section as a test to see if the plug-in for AutoCAD that you mentioned works ok.
