Acrobat Standard has not been developed for Mac platform so Mac version is not available. It can only run on windows machine.

You may be able to get it to work with some workarounds that I have tried on various Win7 versions. The 64-bit system creates additional problems, so you may want to ask if a 32-bit system will meet your need. Even with the workarounds (if they would work for you), the extra effort to use them gets annoying quickly. You would also have problems reading a lot of newer PDFs I would guess. Now is probably the time to purchase a new version (as TSN, AA6 does not qualify for an upgrade). There was a sale before Christmas, but not sure if there will be another.

How to manually update Acrobat 9 in Windows 7

In Windows 7, autoupdating or updating by Help>check for updater does not work.
So I downloaded 5 incremental updaters from Acrobat download page.
But none of them allowed me to updated. Instead, I got an error (see the attachment).
Please advise me how to update those daters.

Look carefully at the product that you are trying to update (the "About" selection under Help) and indicate the product and version you are using. Be sure you are talking about Acrobat and not Reader. The update link should work, but you indicate it does not. You would then go to the appropriate product update page and download ALL of the updates after your minor version. Then install them in order from the oldest to newest. If this does not work, then head back and do either a repair or reinstall of your original product (you typically do not need to uninstall first). Then try the updates.

I'm posting this just in case I stumbled onto something that is not posted here already. I spent a few hours searching across the Internet for a solution so I'm guessing it's not widely known.
I was of course disappointed to find there was no upgrade path from XP to Windows 7 so I sucked it up and did a clean install. However the Adobe apps all failed install for various reasons. I simply could not run the setup program. A little investigative work seems to point to Adobe installers having difficulty dealing with modified user locations, e.g. "my documents" "my pictures" "my videos" "my music" and so on. so I tried again this time installing the Adobe apps before modifying contents and pointers associated with the "my" folder locations and BOOM, that resolved the setup issue for Photoshop and Acrobat.
Obviously there's something that needs to be addressed on the Windows 7 end here but in the meantime I hope this helps

I use roaming profiles, so I always install to the default locations. However I'm actually referring to the locations and contents of the user's data and their symbolic links. It doesn't seem like it would matter, hence my difficulty in resolving the problem, but it did. I can reproduce the error. If there are links in the contents of any of the my document location and their repositories or if those locations are actually somewhere else (e.g. network locations with CSC) then the setup programs fail.
It wouldn't seem to have anything relevant to do with the software installation, but it did.

I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section, couldn't find an obvious purchasing place for this one to go. I've been looking at purchasing and downloading the standard version of acrobat to use for work. I'm a teacher in the UK and I can't seem to find a price for this version. It's quite easy to find the pro version price for students and teachers but not the standard version. I'm probably just not clicking the right button somewhere but can anyone help?

I can't find the price for standard. It may be that student/teacher validation is required first. In any case, the academic version is found at PDF writer | Adobe Acrobat XI Standard subscription. I would suggest the pro version instead unless you are really pressed for the $$ that bad.
