How Do I Reinstall iPhoto after Upgrading to Snow Leopard

hi, I recently did a clean install to Snow Leopard on my macbook Pro. Everything went smoothly other than apparently I need to add the iphoto back on to my mac. I DO have the original discs 1 & 2 that came with my macbook pro. Would someone be so kind as to walk me through how I would reinstall iPhoto, iDVD, etc. I have read some posts that say use disc 1 others say use disc 2..... so I am confused and don't want to do anything incorrectly. THANKS a million.

The programs for iLife are on your system restore DVD, Insert and opt to 'Install Bundled Applications Only.

  • I can't find iPhoto after upgrading to Snow Leopard...

Usually, there is an icon when I open photobooth but its not there. Then I tried looking in finder to see if I even had it and I don't. Snow Leopard should come with iPhoto right??

I have the same issue. iPhoto just disappeared after I upgraded from Leopard to Snow Leopard. I have the install CDs for Leopard, but it doesn't look like I can install iPhoto separately. Under the "Optional Installs" directory there's an option to "Install Bundled Software Only" at 2.7 GB. Won't this overwrite the Snow Leopard versions and cause trouble? I suppose I could do a clean install of Leopard, and then install Snow Leopard, but I'm afraid after waiting on this I might just lose iPhoto again. I'll probably try it anyway. The second CD seems to only have X.

  • Pictures Missing from iPhoto after upgrade to Snow Leopard

    Timeline:
To start at the end of the story, I installed Snow Leopard the other day and now I can't find my iPhoto Library. My Time Machine backup doesn't show it either and given my history and length of using macs, I should be ashamed of myself for not doing an additional back-up and verifying its contents.
We have a large iPhoto collection that from time to time has been archived and a new library created. In February '09 I moved the current iPhoto libary to an external portable hard drive and triple backed the whole thing up.
At some point this summer (2009), it appears that a camera was connected or iPhoto was opened without the external hard drive connected and iPhoto created a new library. Photos were imported to this library and the external was set aside. I believed (should have verified) that Time Machine was backing this new library up.
I backed up to Time Machine and then installed Snow Leopard when I first received it. When I went to open iPhoto, it can't find anything but an older iPhoto Library (from 2007) that had been stored on the desktop. Time Machine backups from prior to the move to the external drive are intact, but it doesn't appear that Time Machine ever backed up the newly created Summer '09 iPhoto Library. It was on the laptop's hard drive without backup and Snow Leopard deleted it in some fashion. I have done every scan imaginable and all of the videos and photos do not show up in the current directory.
    So.
    1. I understand that I deserve to be shot for my management of this.
    2. Always verify your backups.
    3. What should I do now? I have stopped using the machine so I don't write over the pictures that are likely still on the drive, but not on the directory. I have contacted Apple. Although they are looking into the problem, I don't expect much help. Should I use recovery software? What do people recommend? What are the steps to run it?
Thanks for reading this, if you take the time.
    Andy

The blank page can be output if you select the vendors driver, in your case the Canon driver. Delete the printer queue and add it again, this time selecting a Postscript driver, such as a HP Color LaserJet model that has PS in its name.

  • Logic 8 (8.0.2) crasches after upgrading to Snow Leopard (10.6.8)

Hi, everyone! I hear some of you have problems shutting down Logic after upgrading. I have a similar problem. Logic 8 (8.0.2) crasches after upgrading to Snow Leopard (10.6.8), when choosing "open" . This doesn't happen when I choose "Open Recent". When i open a project, I can't close it without saving first, though I havn't changed anything. Any clues?

    Hi there CANTONOR,
You may need reinstall Quicktime 7 and restart your copmuter. I would recommend taking a look at the information found in the article below.

  • App Launching Unresponsive After Upgrading to Snow Leopard

For reasons I do not quite understand, launching any app, and doing many things within them (basically, instantiating any process) is extremely slow after upgrading to Snow Leopard. For instance, opening a new window in Terminal takes a full 22 seconds (I've timed it) to go from "login" to the zsh prompt. Before, it was instantaneous. There is nearly nothing installed on this computer other than the bare essentials and some documents.
This is obviously very frustrating and detrimental to my productivity. Here is what I've tried:
    - Reinstalling from scratch (I've now tried this two times). First, I backed up my home directory with SuperDuper and manually copied everything over. Everything was fixed, for about two days, and then it started doing the same thing again. Then, I cloned the entire disk with SuperDuper and restored from it. Again, everything was fixed for a little while and then I had the same problem again.
    - Most recently, I tried "Verify disk" in Disk Utility. This returned that there were errors (an "invalid directory count"). Therefore I rebooted into the installation disc and ran "Repair Disk", which outputted that the disk was repaired successfully. However, I rebooted back and now have the same problem.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what is going wrong? My first thought was that perhaps the hard drive is failing, but I've dual-booted Linux on another partition and it works fine.
I am very confused. How can I fix this?

    Have you updated iTunes?

  • I have a big problem with Lion and PGP. After upgrading from snow leopard to lion I cannot access my PGP drive which was generated under snow leopard. PGP does not start but gives a notion that lion cannot work with my PGP version. Solution?

After upgrading from Snow Leopard to Lion I cannot access a PGP drive which was generated under snow leopard. PGP does not start. When I try to start I just receive a message that Lion cannot work with PGP. How can I now access important and confifential informatio which I have stored in PGP (snow leopard). Do I have to move back to snow leopard. If so, how can I do this?

    If you have this product,
    http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH165159
you have to go back to Snow Leopard.
To re-install SL, back up your home directory, format and re-install.

  • Editing after Upgrading to Snow Leopard

After upgrading to Snow Leopard, I get the following message whenever I try to edit a picture-including those that have been edited before:
    "Unreadable Files:
The following files could not be imported. (The file is in the iPhoto Library)"
At the bottom of the screen is "Preparing to Import" with a constant "beach ball".
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks.

Given that this is happening in two Libraries we know the Library is okay amd now we need to look at the OS and the application.
What hardware is connected to your Mac? Disk? Scanners, Printers, Card Readers, multi-putpose machines?
Disconnect them and see does the problem recur.
If it's still happening: a final test:
Create a new account (systempreferences -> accounts) and see if the problem is repeated there. If it is, then a re-install of the app might be indicated. If it's not, then it's likely the app is okay and the problem is something in the main account.

  • TS2998 After upgrading to Snow Leopard, Mail will not let me archive any mail. All archived messages re-appear in my inbox (I have tried archiving and placing in the trash bin).

After upgrading to Snow Leopard, Mail will not let me archive any mail. All archived messages re-appear in my inbox (I have tried archiving and placing in the trash bin). How do i regain control of my inbox?

The main differences that can cause a problem are scripting additions (64-bit vs 32-bit and security reasons) and the usage of dates (it is not as forgiving). AppleScript itself is basically the same, so if empty paragraphs are what caused your problems the update would have just been a coincidence.

  • After upgrading to snow leopard my HP C5180 printer will not allow me to scan to the computer, it only works as a copier?

    Hello,
My hardrive crashed, replaced and reinstalled. However after upgrading to Snow Leopard v.10.6.8, my HP C5180 printer will not give me an option to scan an image to the computer. It only functions as a copier. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
    Thanks

If your driver is up to date (you didn't say) then you can try Image Capture in your Applications folder or take a look at VueScan http://www.hamrick.com/

  • Print booklet fails after upgrade to Snow Leopard

After upgrading to Snow Leopard I had to reinstall the driver for my HP 4000N printer. Now all of my booklets print with the right side truncated in the middle as if the paper were 8-1/2 x 8-1/2 instead of 11 inches wide. The InDesign preview shows it correctly. It printed fine yesterday in OS X 10.5, InDesign CS3. Does anyone have advice?

I did a clean install of Snow Leopard on a new disk and InDesign has the same problem of clipping a landscape layout booklet.
I bought a new HP Laserjet and it has the same problem.
I downloaded a trial version of InDesign CS5 on the new system with the new printer and it has the same problem.
InDesign just thinks the paper is only 8-1/2" wide in the Print Booklet procedure and it clips the printing at 8-1/2". It will print a normal landscape page fine. It shows the Preview of the booklet correctly. I can save the booklet as a PostScript file and Preview will print it fine. I've been printing the same booklet under 10.5 for several years without problem.
InDesign just won't print the booklet correclty under Snow Leopard.

  • Unable to print after upgrading to Snow Leopard (Dell 1320C) - Network

This recently started after upgrading to Snow Leopard.
The OSX drivers worked well with Leopard 10.5.xx but after upgrading to Snow Leopard, i keep getting "network host busy" or "could not connect to printer".
I've tried completly removing printer, reinstalling (IP based), drivers etc etc I even resetted the printing system (right clicking and reseting in the printers list).
This works fine with Leopard but it fails on Snow Leopard..

I had the same problem not being able to print to Dell 1320c after upgrading to Snow Leopard. Here is a work around for the Dell 1320c printer to work on Mac with Leopard 10.6.2
Do not use the printer driver from Dell. Delete the Printer Setup from your Mac.
Locate Mac Driver Suitable for 10.5 (Version 1.7) at http://www.fujixeroxprinters.com.au/en/support/Downloads.aspx?product=5452&categ ory=5726
Double click the icon to install after it downloads. It should create file DPC525AAPv17x5.dmg. When the install is finished you can delete the installer.
From the Apple menu open System Preferences and select Print & Fax.
Click the + to add a printer.
    Select IP Printer.
Select for the Protocol: Line Printer Daemon - LPD
Type the IP address: 192.168.1.xxx or whatever your printer is assigned on your network. (If you don't know, go to your printer and hold down the Green button until the configuration sheet prints. You can see the IP address once printed.)
Name the printer "Dell Color Laser 1320c" or whatever you'd like to call it.
    For Print Using select: FX
Next select FX DocumPrint C525 A-AP v1.7 in the box below.
On the next screen you must select 250 Sheet Feeder as an option. Otherwise it will only be able to manual feed.
    Click Ok.
Go to Print something, File... Print... but don't click the Print button yet.
Under Pages: go to the Drop Down and select Fuji Xerox Features.
Find the Paper Source Drop Down and select Tray 1 (250 sheets),
then go up to Presets: Drop Down above and select Save As...
and under Preset Name, type Standard-1, leave This Printer Only and click OK.
Now you can click the Print button. This will set the Dell 1320c printer to print from the document tray and not try to manually feed all the time.
Anyway, that's the work around to use the Dell 1320c Color Laser printer under Mac OS Snow Leopard 10.6.x.
    Hope this helps!
    Good Luck
P.S. I guess eventually Dell might come out with an updated driver, but don't hold your breath...
