How do I reinstall iTunes 11.1.4 and Quicktime to Windows 7 PC?

I have noticed a fair number of users being unable to reinstall 11.1.4 by iTunes after deinstalling due to errors from the update. I have attempted to reinstall several times but the download installation never shows up on the desktop even though the welcome comment from the manufacturer thanks me for installing the product.
How do I reinstall iTunes and Quicktime and actually get the product back to my PC for use? I am using Windows 7 and have been a supporter of the iTunes for several years and would appreciate being a happy customer again! Thank you.

Try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer?

Nothing should be lost... However... it is both Prudent and Recommended that a backup should have been created and maintained.

Download the current version.
Install it.
When installing, are specific errors being generated?

If you are in the US, and the music is still available in the store and you use the same iTunes account as you originally used to purchase them, then you should be able to re-download your music purchases for free : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519
If you are not in the US then there is currently no re-download option, so you would need to copy a backup onto the computer

Just reinstall. Unless something's seriously wrong with your computer, you won't lose any content or settings. Of course it's always wise to have a backup before you make any changes to your computer.
Might I ask what problem you're experiencing that you think will be corrected by reinstalling iTunes?
