How do I reinstall PSEv8, then relink to the images, tags & sub categories?

I am running PSEv8 on a PC w/ windows 7. Experiencing several errors, such as;
1. file, get photos and videos, then from files and folders - error -> unable to get photos.
2. click on a sub category, it does not open. the current view stays and does not open to the new sub category.
I think reinstalling psev8 is the solution, but I don't want to lose the data I have already entered, ie tags the and sub categories.
What file is this data stored in? or what should I do before I uninstall then reinstall to keep the data?

Hi,
Whatever you see in Organizer is kept in a databse called Catalog and Catalog is kept separately. When you uninstall PSE8, catalosg remain on your machine.
Before I say go ahead with uninstallation, I would like to know more about your problem and it would be great if you can share some screenshots when you see problem. It will help me understaing the exact problem.
And it may be possible to resolve your problems without uninstall...

Officially you don't. Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was planned with you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchases which can be transferred to a computer.

How to relink all the image after moving the folders?

I have a lot of illustrator files in folder A and each file has tons of images from different folders (B, C, D...). All of these folders are inside a main root folder.
Recently I moved this root folder to an external drive then all the illustrator files disconnect with the images. Is there any way to relink all of those images all together instead of relink them one by one?

I would say you made a big mistake by moving all those image especially since you know you had 20 ai files each with hundred of images.
Even if you did not move them this is a poor workflow sinvce for out put you more than likely would need to collect those linked images. That can be too much fun.

hi i wanted to find the and match the xml tag for that i required to write the regex.
for exmple i have a string[] str={"<data>abc</data>"};
i want this string has to be splitted like this <data>, abc and </data>. so that i can read the splitted string value.
the above is for a small excercise but the tagname and value can be of combination of chars/digits/spl symbols like wise.

How can I create side bars without cropping the image?

I want to create side bars because I am projecting in an vertical panel, but if I crop the image them I only get the middle part of it.
How can I create side bars in an way that I can still move the image inside?

On a Video Track directly above the clip(s) you want to have behind the side bars, place a clip of Color (or whatever you want to use for your sidebars).
Now go to the Effects Tab > Matte >Mask Shape and drag the Mask Shape filter to the Color clip you have placed on the timeline.
Double click on the clip to open it in the viewer, and click on the Filters Tab.
Click Invert Box, and adjust the shape to get the side bars you want.
And now the clip(s) that are beneath this effect will have the side bars and be independent of it, so that you can move them around.

I want to print what I see on the screen. When I attempt to do so, the image is cropped, but this crop does not appear on the mac screen.

You must crop your photo to the size ratio of the paper you'll be printing on. Therefore, if you want to print a 4 x 6 you need to crop the photo to 4 x 6 first. Then select the paper size and print size in the print window.

I have a mac book pro retina, i had iPhoto and iMovie app with the OS while purchase. the iPhoto and iMovie updates were using my old apple-id and i wasnt able to update my app due to that, so i deleted those apps and wanted to reinstall that. so my new apple-id would be picked up.
but i didnt realize these were paid apps. ouch. so is there a way i can restore these apps ?

Have you tried signing in with your old Apple ID? All software obtained at the app store is tied to the Apple ID used to obtain it forever. If you start with a new Apple ID, then you will need to purchase it again.

If you do that, your colleague will need to have your AppleID to reinstall. You can't transfer your Lion installer to him. Wipe the machine with the Snow Leopard disc, reinstall it, quit the setup parches, give it to his, along with all the previous discs that shipped with the machine, and let him use his AppleID to download and install Lion after setting it up with his username and password.

How do I reinstall all my apps from the app store to my iPhone?

So I wanted to download a song to my phone so I plugged it into my computer, mind you it's the computer I always use to put music on my iPhone, and I'm using one of my apps while I'm waiting for it to sync. Then the app just crashes or at least I think it crashes. When I go to get back on the main screen ALL my apps have been deleted. And I seriously don't want to download all the apps I had one by one. The only fricking app I had left was tumblr. They're not even saved to my computer anymore. If anyone could help me I would really appreciate it.

Apps themselves are not part of the backup. Only the app's data is included (presuming the developer followed Apple's guidelines for storing data). You need to resync or re-download the app. Then if you've previously done a restore from the backup, the data should be back as well.
