How do I remove a Apple account from iTunes

My Mother-in-law had one of her grandchildren (not mine) plug in their iPod touch into her iMac, and download all kinds of games and music with their apple account. She got an iPad, and it automatically registered it with that other account, and she cannot install any apps or any updates because she does not have their password for their apple account. How do I flush iTunes of any and everything related to the grandkids so that she can use her own account, then wipe her iPad and connect it so that she can use it for something other than email and web surfing? My idea is to flush everything in the Music folder on her iMac, but will this kill everything. We are not concerned about retaining any information in that folder because she has never used her iMac for music storage, etc.

If there are items in the iTunes library that you wish to delete, use the Delete key.
If your mother-in-law wishes to have her own iTunes account, she can simply go to the iTunes "Store" menu item and select Create Account. (If Create Account does not appear, first choose Sign Out, and then try again.)
