I did a hp update and I somehow turned off my sound on my Pavilion g7-1075dx Notebook PC. and I want to reverse the update

Download & Save the latest Audio driver.Go into Control Panel,Programs & Features- Uninstall IDT software.Restart the laptop. After Windows loads, install IDT audio using the downloaded file.

If no joy, shut down the laptop, wait a minute or so before powering on.Start tapping/holding the F10 key immediately after powering on to enter BIOS setup. once in there reset to Default settings, usually by tapping F9,check the bottom of screen for correct key. Save & Exit.

I take it you have checked this: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/preferences+are+not+saved#Specific_preferences_are_not_saving If not, please do. Remember that that list of programs is very short, and there are other known programs that cause issues. SpyBot S&D, for exameple, but mostly security programs.
If that doesn't help, and if it's only the home page that is reset, I would ask you to try to replicate the problem, to figure out when exactly does this happen: is it on browser startup (as in, every time you start the browser), is it on browser update (simply uninstall and install it again - get it at www.getfirefox.com - to simulate an update), on windows restart, what?

How to removing a pending update that is preventing a successful boot

Hi,
For an unknown reason (my guess is an update was automatically applied and automatically restarted), my computer rebooted overnight and in the morning was stuck in a failed boot loop. When trying to boot I get the message:
"Preparing to configure windows"
"Do not turn off your computer"
Then after a few seconds the computer reboots and does the same thing. Safe mode yields the same result. Using the F8 option to restore last known good configuration doesn't change anything. I can boot into the recovery console.
I have tried running SFC /SCANNOW in a command prompt in the recovery console and get the message:
"There is a system repair pending which requires reboot to complete. Restart Windows and run sfc again."
Restarting of course doesn't change anything. So it seems something happened to an unfinished update and is still pending. I think if I can remove this pending update I might be able to boot normally, or at least run SFC and hopefully then boot
normally.
Does anyone know what I should try to remove this pending update that appears to be preventing a successful boot?

This is the command to run when booted offline at a recovery command prompt
dism.exe /image:C:\ /cleanup-image /revertpendingactions
This is supposed to revert all pended updates, however if System Restore is not working, then there may be other issues as well

Hello. I can easy remove on Windows FF 29 or FF 30 and its slower on fast computer. But its affected by millions of users. With FF 28 it was allways fast.
Why fast? I dont know but its SLOW Now any version after FF 28.
Since FF 29 FF loads and hangs very very slow each time loading, starting, or changing tabs. It is making problem for everyone and now everyone calls with help- "why computer is slow.. oh its FF? Chrome? Chrome was slow but now its not the slowest one?"
Very colorfull Example- one comp is 10" and its very very very very low specs. So it wont run at all.
Now on small comp we can try linux and FF BUT no matter what OS just couldnt get back with any plugins back normal speed. Since FF 29 its very very very slow and that needs to have a solution. Today came update and still unneded custom menu button and its slowness hasnt been removed (unnoticed) so it needs a fix so it works for people who are not just for browsing internet buying new computer and cant get any faster speed then Chrome since now theres no FF anymore.
SO- How to do that on Windows and Linux- installing FF 28 and making it never upgrade
OR even better- Making a package that already has this update disbled setting ON?
p.s. Should you first ask people how they like slow browsers before making fast one to a slow one?
p.p.s. i dont get how menu could be added by thouse who need it as an add-on ass allways and not presuring everyone who never touches any button.

Found it, thanks to later posts in that thread I mentioned in the OP. Here is what they suggest (you have to use Photoshop):
1. In Photoshop, go to Help >Updates:
2. Click "Preferences" at the bottom right.
3. Uncheck the box labeled "Notify me of new updates on the menu bar." Then click "Ok."

the only way to remove that is to delete the apps and reinstall them under your current apple id. those apps were purchased under that hotmail app id account so they will always update under it

It sounds like you are trying to change the Apple ID logged into the iTunes & App Stores on your iPhone. Use these steps:
Changing your Apple ID account
Tap Settings > iTunes & App Stores, then tap the Apple ID signed in.
Sign out of the current Apple ID account and then sign in with another account or create a new Apple ID.
