How do i remove an Update notification? I do not want to update to the latest iOS (Asian languages) which is useless to me and I don't want to waste space on my iPad. I want to be able to "Select All" instead of doing each update individually.

Sorry, I've never submitted a question before! ☺ I do not want to update to the latest iOS (Asian language stuff) which is useless to me and I don't want to waste space on my iPhone 4S and iPad 5. I want to be able to "Select All" updates instead of doing each update individually. It's a real pain in the you-know-what. Does anyone know how to I remove this notification (and any other updates I'm not interested in) from the Updates page? Thanks so much everyone!
Thanks so much for your time! I wish you had a more positive answer, but c'est la vie! I hate the fact that I cannot control my apps and feel like a hostage of the developer(s). I use my iPad in Bangladesh. my iOS is 3.2.2. I tried to download and install the latest one several times. but every time near the end of the download a message appears as " an error occured during installation. internet connection timed out" and the process terminates and restarts again from the begaining. download speed of the connection is around 128MBps.last time it was only a few kilobytes left when the termination occured. can any body please suggest a solution of this problem. it will be a great help.

I have an iPhone 4 (IOS 4.3.1) and it was synced and backed up today.
I wanted to upgrade to the latest ios on iTunes (today's date is 3rd Jan 2013), it seemed to download ok (it took about 30 minutes or so), but when it tried to update onto the iPhone (I think this was what it was doing!) I got an error message that had code 3014 in it. Nowhere on Apple's website can I find a way to resolve this error code.
I then thought I would just try again from the beginning, but I then got an error message saying that if I continued I would lose all the contents on my iPhone so I cancelled it as I don't want to lose everything on my phone.
Can anyone help me as I am not very good at technical things and I really want to upgrade the ios on my iPhone without losing all the data I have on there already. An idiots guide would be great.

Update to the latest version of iTunes.
Verify the computer's date and time are accurate.
Check that your security or firewall software is not interfering with ports 80 or 443, or with the server gs.apple.com.
Follow Troubleshooting security software. Often, uninstalling third-party security software will resolve these errors.
An entry in your hosts file may be redirecting requests to gs.apple.com (see "Unable to contact the iOS software update server gs.apple.com" above).
Internet proxy settings can cause this issue. If you are using a proxy, try without using one.
Test restoring while connected to a known-good network. -

Let me see if I've gotten this right! You want to remove an account from BOTH machines? Do this for your new machine first, then for the other.
Click the Apple logo on the top left of the screen, System Preferences, Users and Groups (under Systems), unlock the lock in the window if its locked (you need to know the password), select the user that you wish to remove, and click the - sign next to the + sign for Login options. A window will pop up with some options. Select Delete this user and securely, and click 'Delete user'.
After this, do an update from the App Store.
Thats all there is to it.
For the other machine repeat the process except for one thing. Before you delete the user in this case YOU, you will have to give Administrator priviledges to your son bu checking the box 'Allow user to administer this computer'.
Do NOT do anything from Finder ... if you dont know how to fix the consequences of the problems caused.
There is no need to unauthorize your iTunes account on your new machine. Do it on the old machine though. -
After updating to the latest IOS 8 on my ipad / iphone etc I do not have any documents on pages, keynotes etc. I have them on my iphone 5S and I can log in on my pc and see al the documents. I have icloud turned on and idrive.
If I start a new document in pages and then try to share this document with the top ring link in pages "share Link via iCloud" a screen notification tells me to "Set Up iCloud. Go to Settings and select iCloud. Sign in and turn on iCloud Drive for Page".
When I go to settings I see that I am signed in.
Please help as I need the documents back on my ipad.Did you have iCloud photo stream turned on for photos? If you did, then you can view your photos at iCloud.com. If you can verify that they are all there, you can do the factory reset. Once you turn on iCloud again after the reset, the photos won't be on the phone but they will still be in the photo stream which you can view on the device. You should be able to copy the photos down to the computer from iCloud. On an Apple Mac computer, iPhoto can view photo stream and you can download photos there too.
Personally, with syncing issues with iTunes, I prefer to use an app called PhotoSync (which is an app in the App Store, Mac App Store, and available from the developer's website for Windows PC's. This App (once turned on for both devices) lets you send photos back and forth within wifi. -

What drives to buy depends an awful lot on how you will use them, what your budget is, and your preferences.
In the case of your DP Powermac, for online storage used primarily for editing, I would add one or more internal drives first. Look for drives that are at least 7200rpm and have at least an 8MB cache. 10,000rpm/16MB cache is even better, but more expensive. Seagate Barracudas have always been good choices.
For backup purposes, I'd pick some good external FireWire drives; you can also use these for online editing, lots of people do. Your Mac has both FW400 and FW800 ports - either kind is fine but if you get drives that support both, you would want to connect them to the FW800 port for the added performance.
In my experience, the Lacie d2 Extreme drives have been very very good. In fact I have 3 of them daisy-chained off my iMac G5 right now and they work flawlessly with FCE. Weibetech and Granite Digital drives are further upscale in performance and price. RAID configurations would be even further upscale. Do stay away from consumer level hard drives, however ... the Western Digital MyBook series & no-name drives come to mind ...
Don't use a FireWire hub for your external drives, it's just asking for trouble.

If the iPad has never been synced to to another computer it should be easy to backup the iPad to your computer and transfer purchases (you need to authorize your computer to his account) and do the update and it should automatically restore and sync after the update. A backup is supposed to be made before an update but to be sure, when the iPad is connected to the computer right click on the iPad in iTunes and select backup. I would also save a copy of the backup in another location and backup the iTunes library (with his transfered apps and other stuff) also to make sure they are not lost. You can move apps around in iOS 7 the same as iOS 6. Press an app icon until you see it wiggle; then drag it to where ever you want it to be. Drag it onto another app to create a folder with the two apps. Tap the Home button to stop the wiggle.

MojaveMoon's solution will work if there is only one person you want to block your ID from; if you want to block your caller ID from everyone, you can go to your account online, go to Change Features, and scroll down till you see Caller ID block. Instructions say that once this is activated, you can dial *82 before any # you WANT to display your number to, but all others will be blocked.
If you are on a Family share plan, the account owner needs to log in and choose your line to activate this feature. -

If you have iOS7 yes. In the mail list you tap 'edit' and then choose hte mails you want, then at the lower right you'll see the option to trash the mails.
If you do not have iOS7 then you cannot mass delete.
