How do I remove extra mail boxes

I am trying to remove extra mail boxes from my iPad 1, with no success. Help please

IF it is a mailbox that you added to the account - when you are in the email account in the window that shows all of the mailboxes for the account - tap on the edit button - then tap on the mailbox that you want to remove - a new window will pop up with the red delete button in it. Tap it to delete the mailbox.

As I said mail servers do have management interfaces. You need to find one and then determine what the management interface is.

If you're talking about the "short list" then click on other and then uncheck the ones that you don't want displayed. If you're talking about the long list, then you will have to browse to the folder containing the profiles and then delete them manually.

If mean email folders under an account, then at the moment you can't do it directly in the Mail app. If it's an IMAP type account then you should be able to login to your account on a browser and create them there, and they should then appears in the Mail app. If it's a POP type account then unfortunately you're stuck with what you've got. However it is possible to disable in presenter 9.

Who is email provider? What sort of email account is it - POP3, IMAP or Exchange? POP3 will work like this as with that whoever first downloads the latest mail from the server deletes it from there and so it's unavailable to other mail clients on other devices.
Either switch your email account to IMAP or change your POP3 account's settings so the new mails are not deleted for some time (a week, a month or whatever) after first download and are thus available to other devices also (IMAP is best solution but if POP3 is all that's available from whoever your provider is then you'll have to live with POP's limitations).

Thanks, it was linked in iPhoto. After removing it from iPhoto I still got the same message when trying to delete the account from Mail. After rebooting, I was able to remove the account from Mail.

OK...I just figured out!
When I dragged the icon down to my dock, I actually used the one from the volume instead of the one from my applications folder. Therefore it always wanted to open the .dmg file instead of the actual program. I THINK I said that all correctly! enter command+F5. this will turn off voice over which you've accidentally activated.
That's a handy shortcut but if you want to check this and related things you can accidentally activate, open System Preferences > Universal Access
