My wife linked her facebook to iPhoto and now I want to remove the link. Can someone tell me how to do it?

You might want to consider setting up an account on the iMac for her. She could then do what she wants there and not effect your account.

Mac OS: Run the uninstaller in the Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers folder to remove the program listed as up-to-date.

How do you remove Facebook from the Hub?

I don't use Facebook, so have deleted the app. In the Hub settings, you have the option of turning off unwanted apps, so I have switched off Facebook.
However, when I look at my Hub screen, Facebook is still there - and it's pushing a useful notification (Voicemail) off the bottom off the screen.
How come it is still there even though the app has been deleted and I have switched it off in the Hub settings? Is there anything else I can do to remove it?

To delete an account from your hub, you will need to delete it from your Accounts. From home page, go into settings, select accounts,click facebook account and click on delete. You can refresh your hub from five quick swipes from the top right hand corner of the hub diagonally down or just restart your z10 to rebuild the hub.

I think you have to have the files on your HD. So either put them in iPhoto or copy them to a folder in Finder, and from there you can upload to Facebook.

Hmmmm...maybe try deleting them again (I know it's a pain) and then doing a manual icloud backup (unless you already did this). Icloud may be putting them back on there. I never allowed FB to put the contacts on my phone lol. Also try going into Privacy and Contacts...make sure FB isn't on in there. Might be a few other spots to check under settings to make sure too. And...you might want to try deleting the FB app, do a icloud backup, and then reinstall FB

How to? Please...I cut and paste items, it is removed from iphoto for a few seconds then they appear again.

The photos that are appearing on the mini - are they photos taken with an iPhone or iPad? If so, open System Preferences on both computers and select the iCloud tab. On the mini, click the Photos checkmark off and on the MBP click the Photos checkmark on (if it isn't already), then start iPhoto and select Preferences. I don't know how to remove images from iPhoto 8 or 6. I prefer to use PhotoShop Elements and I want to move the iPhoto images from wherever they are into a separdate folder so that I can put them into Bridge CS3 and use Elements. But I cannot figure a way to do this. Thanks.

I purchased the Duplicate Annihilator that you recommended and with about an hour it had detected almost 5,000 duplicates, so I went ahead and identified them, also did the thumbs and found about 300 there, so I put them in the trash and deleted all that came up and now I am down to 5,000 - pictures. I will run it again tomorrow

Very much appreciated.... the reason that I hesitated to bring over the old iPhoto is that a few months back a bunch of my pictures from there 'disappeared' -so I didn't want to import a corrupt application?

Don't buy CleanMyMac or any other dreck that offers to "clean" your Mac for you. Worst software ever.
If there are apps in your Applications folder you don't need any more, drag them to the trash and empty the trash.
In general, it is media files, like music, photos, and especially video that is taking up a lot of space. You can move your iTunes library, iPhoto Library, and iMovie video to an external drive.

It looks to me like once I move an album to my ext hd that the photos are not removed from my iphoto on my internal hd? I want to free up space but only want to back up certain albums.

How are you moving them? Exporting does not remove material from iPhoto.
Why not have two Libraries, one on your internal drive, one on the external?
Here's one way to do what you want:
Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
1. Quit iPhoto
2. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
Now you have two full versions of the Library.
3. On the Internal library, trash the Events you don't want there
Now you have a full copy of the Library on the External and a smaller subset on the Internal
Some Notes:
As a general rule: when deleting photos do them in batches of about 100 at a time. iPhoto can baulk at trashing large numbers at one go.
You can choose which Library to open: Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library'
You can keep the Library on the external updated with new imports using iPhoto Library Manager
