How do I remove my Apple ID from kids devices?

I have had an Apple ID for my phone and music but recently set up ids for my 2 kids who just got iPhones. My Apple ID info is still showing up on their phones and wants my password. How do we fix this? I want to add them to Family Sharing but am not sure how to accomplish both of these things. Would love some help! Thx!

Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you have set up Apple IDs for your kids, and you need to change the Apple ID that's being used on their iPhones.
You can find the steps to sign out of Apple services such as the iTunes Store and iCloud at this link:

Once you are signed out, you can sign in to the devices with the new Apple IDs you created through Family Sharing.

Tthe brute force method: start with Settings > iCloud and turn off Find My (you will need the password), then change the iCloud ID, then go to the apps such as Messages, FaceTime, etc, and delete the Apple ID and enter the new one.

Just set up yur new iPOd with the old ID. You can have multiple devices using the same ID. If you want to retain app data and other things, restore the new iPod from the backup of the old iPod. When done with the old iPOd, restore that iPod to factory defaults/new iPod to erase it so you can sell/give it away safely. For rstoring see:

What I need help with is in the question. Kids are old enough to have separate ids. I want to ensure that I can create them and then associate their music and apps to the right accounts.

As Allan posted you cannot transfer Apps and Music to a different Apple ID. Here's what I would do...
Use separate Apple ID's for iCloud, iMessage and FaceTime. These services are separate from iTunes.
Create a new Apple ID > https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/ -- Note: You need a verified email address
On the device(s) go:
Settings > iCloud > (Scroll Down) Delete Account > Sign in with the new Apple ID -- Note: This only affects the device
Settings > Messages > Send and Received > Apple ID > Sign Out > Sign in with the new Apple ID
Settings > FaceTime > Apple ID > Sign Out > Sign in with the new Apple ID
This will separate your iCloud content (i.e. Contacts, Notes, Reminders etc.), Messages and FaceTime.
You all can continue to use the same Apple ID for iTunes and share the already purchased Apps, Music and Movies
If you decide that's not acceptable go:
Settings > iTunes and App Store > Apple ID > Sign out > Sign in with the new Apple ID -- Note: We covered the transfer of content part.
Hopefully that will put you on the right path to sort out the issue.

She got an iPad, and it automatically registered it with that other account, and she cannot install any apps or any updates because she does not have their password for their apple account. How do I flush iTunes of any and everything related to the grandkids so that she can use her own account, then wipe her iPad and connect it so that she can use it for something other than email and web surfing? My idea is to flush everything in the Music folder on her iMac, but will this kill everything. It doesn't have anything to do with your administrators details, she needs to enter her own Apple ID in iTunes in her user account.

Also, the IPhone did a factory reset by itself and cannot get past the plug in with itunes screen, and the phone will not stay on when plug it into a computer.

You need to immediately change the password for the Apple ID, for starters. If have iCloud and Find My iphone enabled on the device you can remotely wipe the device. If you do not then there is nothing you can do except change the password for the account.
