How do I remove MyStart:Incredibar ?

I have an issue with one of my '''Firefox extensions/plugins''', it's called '''MyStart: Incredibar''', and I basically installed unintentionally when I installed a program with a '''Brothersoft downloader/launcher. '''
I tried uninstalling '''Mystart '''and I tried permanently stopping the service that updates the '''MyStart incredibar plugin'''.
What it basically does is, when I open a new tab in '''Firefox''', it opens some sort of website, I don't have a problem with it loading a '''search engine''', the only problem I have regarding the search engine is that every time I open a '''new tab''', it actually loads a '''new page'''.
I even tried '''resetting '''the certain figures in about:config which helped '''temporarily''', but after I restart Firefox then it still runs the search engine when I open a new tab. I use '''Eset Nod32''' and '''Anti-Malmwarebytes''' as my system's defense, and I've tried scanning with both of them but they don't help at all, does anyone have information that will '''permanently''' remove this plugin from my PC?

My About:Config settings looks like [http://gyazo.com/047e4c96ff95b07159f6be256ac5daad THIS]

Hi,
You can try to right-click and '''Reset''' or '''Modify'''the value of '''browser.newtab.url''' in [http://kb.mozillazine.org/About:config about:config]
[http://kb.mozillazine.org/About:config_entries about:config Entries]
If it reverts back, please see [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Preferences%20are%20not%20saved this].
You can also try to '''Remove''' or '''Disable''' it in Firefox '''Tools''' ('''Alt''' + '''T''') > '''Add-ons''' > '''Extension''', if present.

  • I visited a website once, and now every time I open a tab, it tries to redirect to that website. How do I remove this "feature"?

    Some website called MyStart keeps trying to redirect every blank tab I open to its website. I doesn't seem to work, but I get sick of seeing it try anyway, and it worries me because I don't recall giving it permission to do this. I added the SiteBlock plugin and added the URL it's trying to redirect me to on the blacklist, and even though now my new tabs are blank the way they're supposed to be, I still see the URL in the tab heading, so whatever this thing is, its still on my computer or in my browser. But I can't find it anywhere in my add-ons and extensions and such. It's also not in my programs on my computer.

    There have been several threads about this add-on during the past few months...
    It is important to check the Windows Control Panel > Programs and Features to remove the source(s). These may include the following:
    * Incredibar
    * MyStart
    * Web Assistant
    After that, restart Firefox and start clearing out its settings as described in the following threads. Many users find it simpler to "Reset" than to take multiple steps to clean-up Firefox. That's up to you.

  • For some reason Bing has creeped onto my Firefox browser. Now every time I open a new tab, it automatically goes to the Bing search window. How do I remove this?

    I do not recall downloading Bing or ever setting Bing up as a default search engine. My Home Page was also changed to MSN, but I fixed that.

  • How can I fully remove MyStart by IncrediBar from Firefox and my computer?

    I have no idea how MyStart by IncrediBar got on to my computer. Initially, it hijacked my browser, where upon opening Firefox (8.01) it re-directed my homepage to a MyStart search page. I have never intentionally allowed MyStart, IncrediBar, or IncrediMail into my system.
    Using the Control Panel (Vista Home Premium – 64-bit), I uninstalled the program. Then, I went into Firefox Options and disallowed and/or deleted all references to these programs. I also reset my homepage to where I had previously set it to be. I tried to do a System Restore twice, but each time it failed, returning a message indicating that “An unspecified error occurred during System Restore.” I did a complete system scan with Norton 360, which turned up nothing.
    Now, my homepage opens to my desired site and MyStart no longer shows up as a search engine choice in the upper-right search box, but when opening Firefox, a second tab immediately opens with the MyStart search page and the url “http://mystart.incredibar.com/?a=6Oyn8n6bDE&i=26.” I also have Internet Explorer 9 on my pc. I was able to completely remove MyStart from that browser. I have searched the Firefox Help website and applied all suggested tactics noted there (including the suggestion from kevinsenjaya regarding about:config), but still have the problem.
    I would appreciate guidance on two items: (1) Should I be concerned that my computer is no longer secure because of MyStart and (2) How do I prevent MyStart from automatically opening each time I open Firefox?
    Thanks for your help.
    Don

    *Open the <b>about:config</b> page via the location bar and do a search for <i>mystart</i> via the Filter at the top of the about:config page.<br />
    *Reset all <i>mystart</i> related prefs that appear bold (user set) via the right-click context menu to their default values.
    To open the <i>about:config</i> page, type <b>about:config</b> in the location (address) bar and press the "<i>Enter</i>" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.<br />
    If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.<br />
    *Use the Filter bar at to top of the about:config page to locate a preference more easily.
    *Preferences that have been modified show as bold (user set).
    *Preferences can be reset to the default via the right-click context menu if they are user set
    *Preferences can be changed via the right-click context menu: Modify (String or Integer) or Toggle (Boolean)
    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
    *Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

  • How can I get rid of mystart.incredibar completely?

    I have been through this process several times. I cannot work out how mystart.incredibar gets back in.
    I now only use Firefox to prevent incredibar creeping in from other browsers. But it is still in the new page tabs.
    Also, given that this is a major nuisance, why hasn't Firefox taken steps to get rid of it at source?

    While you can try the method described here:
    * http://malwaretips.com/blogs/remove-mystart-by-incredibar-virus/
    It sounds like the third party application installed several extensions in Firefox without your knowledge. For a manual removal in Firefox, follow the steps below, otherwise reset Firefox as explained in the link above:
    # Click the menu button [[Image:New Fx Menu]] and choose Add-ons.
    # In the Add-ons Manager tab, select the Extensions panel.
    # Select the toolbar you wish to remove in addition to all other suspicious extensions.
    # Click the Remove button.
    # Click "Restart now" if it pops up. Your tabs will be saved and restored after the restart.
    After Firefox restarts, install the [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/searchreset/ Search Reset Tool]. This will remove the rest of the traces of this program from your Firefox.
    For further information, please read [[Remove a toolbar that has taken over your Firefox search or home page]].

  • How can I get rid of Mystart Incredibar as my hoepage?

    You see, this sort of happened after I was downloading Photoshop CS2. Before then it was Babylon, but the Mystart is really bothering me because when I want a new tab, it freezes Firefox. I find it really annoying when I am loading something ''important''. I thought dragging the Google icon - '''because I wanted it as my homepage, ''(it was originally that'')''' - to the homepage button would solve it but it didn't.
    Can anyone help me and get rid of this stupid thing? And if you can, explain it simply because I don't really understand computers as expertly. Right, and explain what one thing is, because I don't know the necessary terms for it.

    The simplest way is to uninstall and reinstall Firefox. It took me about 3 minutes. If you've reached this page, you've already spent more time than that.
    I had internet explorer (IE) installed - I need it for work and Firefox for classes - both were infected when I didn't notice the "free recommended" download from a software application I needed. I was downloading the software from the current Firefox version, 16.0.2(?).
    The first thing I tried was uninstalling incredibar/mystart from the control panel in Windows 7 and restarting - didn't work, both browsers still had MyStart as default. Resetting the default search engine didn't work, either.
    I read the directions others had posted - including:
    The correct way to get Incredimail Mystart out of Firefox is:
    1. At Firefox address bar, enter about:config and press ENTER.
    2. At Filter: field, type keyword.url
    3. You should see a Preference name of keyword.URL in the list. Double click it, a "Enter String Value" input box will appear.
    4. Replace the string with: http://www.google.com.my/search?q= Click "OK" button
    For Internet Explorer, you just install Google Toolbar again, and Mystart goes away.
    HOWEVER!!
    -These instructions worked for internet explorer (IE) (Nov. 2012) - BUT
    Since those instructions were posted, the MyStart Incredibar infection (Infection is my word) has gotten more insidious. After following those instructions and restarting my computer, MyStart still came up in Firefox - but not IE. In fact, it had deleted the navigation address bar in Firefox!
    After managing to get the navigation bar back, I returned to the instructions (now at 30+ minutes of frustration) and scrolled through the list that comes up after step 1 "about:config and press ENTER". I found about 50 - 100 bolded items mentioning incredibar. I thought about using the reset option, but there were so many places that it became obvious what the answer was.
    So . . . if you've read this whole post, you've spent more time than it took me to uninstall/reinstall FireFox.
    Hope this works for you!

    How do I remove credit card information from my iTunes account?

    On your computer's iTunes you should be able to edit your payment info by going into the Store > View Account menu option and logging into your account, and on your account's details page there should be a payment link.  If you are doing it on an iOS device (iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch) then you could try tapping on your id in Settings > Store (Settings > iTunes & App Store on iOS 6+) and selecting 'View Apple ID' on the popup - that should also give you a payments link on your account's page.
