I have changed my apple id but when i try to update through the app store app on my iphone4s it still shows my old id, how do i remove it please. i have tried through i tunes and app store in settings and my new details are there i have also tried signing out and in again. TIA

You cannot transfer any purchases made using the old Apple ID to the new one. Either you repurchase them under the new Apple ID or see if Apple can transfer them for you.

Perhaps I don't understand your question. Above you mention "i mail"; I'm assuming you meant "iMessage". If that is want you meant, then have you turned iMessage to On in Settings>Messages? And if so, does it say anything just below the iMessage On/Off button (such as "waiting for activation")?

Go to settings -> mail contacts and calendars -> tap on the desired account and choose delete at the bottom of the page. This will delete the email accunt from the device.

There is no way to delete the remembered email addresses in the mail app. Removing them from your Contacts has no bearing on how this affects the mail app. The only real way to delete those remembered addresses is to restore the iPad to factory settings. That is a pretty harsh workaround just to have the mail app forget some email addresses.
If you ignore those addresses, eventually they will go away, but it can take some time before that happens. There is nothing short of restoring to factory settings that you can do now to remove them.

I have erased the offending address from gmail and any other place I could find it but could do it in iphoto.

Where in iPhoto are you seeing an offending email address for a person? Has it been assigned to a face?
Then you need to edit the address in Faces view. Select the Faces stack on the cork board in Faces view, open the Info panel, and click into the textfield for the email and edit it. Does that work?

I received my mother's iPad2 when she passed away in June. It works better than my original iPad2 since I broke part of the glass on mine. My iPad doesn't have the App Store for some reason and the previous thread I read suggested resetting and why I know I don't have the 4 digit pass code and have no memory of ever creating one.
How can I rid myself of this pesky problem; I follow NASCAR, had previously loaded their app so I could follow along with the races but now, it requires an upgrade to NASCAR 2013 and brings up my mother's Apple ID to perform the upgrade. I have her pass code but don't want to use it, she has passed away and no longer cares which Apps are loaded, I hope...

Try Mail>Preferences>Accounts icon>Account Information tab>Click on the Outgoing SMTP server drop down, choose edit Server list, highlight the old one & click Remove.

iCloud is free (5GB) with iOS 5 you should look into it, makes syncing contacts and editing much easier. To delete an email address you select the contact from the address book, press edit, there will be a red circle with a white line through it, press that then press delete. Then add their new email and press done. If its still coming up the only thing I can think of is if you have an old email in your mail app from their old email address and that may be what is causing the old address to come up.
