How do I remove photos uploaded to iCloud from my iPhone 6 ?

So I'm wondering how I can keep photos I have uploaded to my iCloud account off my iPhone 6 Plus to free up some disk space. After all, one of the benefits of having cloud storage is to store files remotely so you have more space on your hard drive. But, every time I try to delete a photo from my phone it says that "This photo will be deleted from iCloud Photo Library on all your devices."
Which, it seems to me, is kind of beside the point.
Any ideas, anyone?
I'm running iOS 8.1.2 on an iPhone 6 Plus.

Unfortunately iCloud does not work like  and wasn't meant to. This may change moving forward.
iCloud Photo Library is still in beta and the way it functions may also change.
Currently it does not keep a full resolution version on the device, so your 20GB of photos will not take up 20GB on your device.
How does iCloud Photo Library save space on my device?
If you turn on Optimize [device] Storage, iCloud Photo Library will automatically manage the size of your library on your iOS device, so you can make the most of your device's storage and access more photos than ever. iCloud Photo Library stores the original, high-resolution photos and videos in iCloud and can keep lightweight, device-optimized versions on each of your devices. As long as you have enough storage, recent photos and videos that you access the most will stay on your device at full resolution.
You can turn on Optimize [device] Storage from Settings > iCloud > Photos or Settings > Photos & Camera > iCloud Photo Library on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. You need an Internet connection to access an original photo or video that’s stored only in iCloud.
iCloud Photo Library beta FAQ - Apple Support
It defeats your purpose but not everyone's in general. For instance, I too have the 20GB plan and I use mine mostly for my iCloud backups (iPhone & iPad) and the contents of my iCloud Drive.
A service like Dropbox may better suit your needs. It can be configured to automatically upload your photos. Since iCloud storage plans are now based on a monthly commitment, you can just simply cancel before the next auto renew.

You sync with the computer again using iTunes but using the instructions quoted below from https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201313
To delete synced photos and videos from your device
In iTunes, click the Device button in the upper right corner. (If viewing the iTunes Store, click the Library button in the upper-right corner first.)
Click the Photos tab in the resulting window.
Choose "Selected albums" and deselect the albums or collections you want to delete.
Note: To delete all synced photos, deselect "Sync Photos from" and, when asked, click "Remove photos."
    Click Apply.

  • HT4890 How do I get photos onto my computer from my iPhone?

    Hi,
How do I get photos onto my computer from my iPhone?
    Thanks!

      Go to the iTunes Store.
Plug your iPhone into your PC (use the USB cable provided with the phone).
Next, look for the iTunes Store bar-icon towards the top right ( where it is on my PC screen).
Next to it an iPhone bar-icon will pop up. Click it and follow instructions. After that, your phone will auto sync photos and tunes when you
    plug it into iTunes.

I Have discovered that if you want to delete the update and have not installed it yet then you can do it. Just go into settings then go to general and under storage wait for it to populate with all the apps. The software update will be there. Select it and delete. Thats it

Where in iCloud are your photos?
If you store them in My Photo Stream or Shared Albums, they will also need storage on any device, that is signed into iCloud.
The do not count against your iCloud Storage, however.
To remove photos from My Photo Stream or Shared Albums, delete them from the corresponding albums on your iPhone.

  • Can't find videos which were uploaded via iCloud from my iPhone to my IPad

I am new.  I uploaded some photos and videos via iCloud from my iPhone to my IPad , but can't find the videos, but the pictures were there.

You need a third-party app to do so, like this:
    https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/bluetooth-u-share-files-photo/id526268815?mt=8
There are a number of apps in the app store like this.

You can change the default account to iCloud in the Notes settings. This way everytime you make a note it will automatically be in the iCloud folder. Now all I need to do is copy and paste my old notes into new iCloud ones

  • How do I remove a redundant application icon from my Iphone?

With Wimbledon over, Mobile Wimbledon is redundant. It doesn't show in the list of apps in my Itunes but is still on the Iphone. How can I removed it from the phone, please?

To remove a 3rd party app from your iPhone, press on the app's icon or on any app's icon on the home screen where the app is located until all icons begin to wiggle. Select the X on the app's icon to delete the app from your iPhone. Select the home button when finished.
If you have Sync Apps selected under the Apps tab for your iPhone sync preferences and you should, after downloading an app with your iPhone the app should be copied to your iTunes library on your computer the first time you sync your iPhone with iTunes after doing so. You can deselect the app under the Apps tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes followed by a sync to remove the app from your iPhone.

  • ICloud Photo Library: How do I transfer photos and videos only from my iPhone to my iPad but not from my iPad to my iPhone?

I had iCloud photo libraey turned on on both my iPad and iPhone. As said by the feature, photos and videos were being transferred automatically from each device to each other. I have a 64GB iPad Air 2 and my iPhone 5 only has 16GB of storage so I am lacking much more space on my iPhone than my iPad. I was wondering if there was a way to transfer photos only from my iPhone to my iPad but not from my iPad to my iPhone. Would turning off iCloud Photo library on my iPad do the trick? Thanks hope someone can help me out.

iCloud Photo Library keeps all of your photos in the Cloud which you then can selectively download. So, unless you download the iPad photos, they are not going to be taking up any room on your iPhone:

I have many questions that need awnsering. The little explaination itunes gives when you aim to do something is just wow.
    1) I accidently synced some photos from my pcs folder 'My Pictures', I now do not know how to get rid of these from my iPhone.
2)I have 2.5gb useage in 'Other'. What is other?
3)Just got "Home Alone" of the iTunes store. Am I right in thinking when connected to the nternet I can stream it and if I download it I can watch it offline?
4)If I were to stop the download half way through, is the previous halves data then removed?

    Unsync them using your PC.

    See Here  >  maclife.com/how_remove_other_data_your_iphone
Other is usually around 1 GB...
A  ' Large Other ' usually indicates Corrupt Data...
First Try a Restore from Backup...
But... if the Large Other Persists, that is an Indicator of Corrupt Data in the Backup...
Then a Restore as New is the way to go...
