How do I remove Photoshop Elements help files?

Greetings,
I removed Photoshop Elements 9, but the help files are still in Adobe Community Help 3.5.0.23. How do I remove the PSE9 files from Community Help?
I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit.
Thanks,
Shane.

Thanks. Tried the FAQ before posting.  Perhaps you are better at wording a query; my attempts were unsuccessful. Am using the 30 day trial to see if I wish to purchase PE as the Oranizer function is my primary interest. Still would greatly appreciate some guideance so that I might proceed with importing contents of my HD as part my trial.
Regards,

  • How to manually remove Photoshop Elements 4.0 from Windows

My uninstaller for Photoshop Elements 4.0 in Add or Remove programs fails with the message - "This action is only valid for products that are currently installed." The program folder still resides on my harddrive. The program itself neither runs nor will it allow me to delete the program files' Photoshop Elements 4.0 folder that contains the executable and dll files from my harddrive. I need a manual uninstall proceedure.

Have you got the disc? If so, you might try installing it again then an uninstall.
    Failing that...
Here's the Adobe tech doc on removing Photoshop Elements 5. I would assume it would be the same procedure.

  • How can I make Photoshop Elements import files after it gives incorrect error code?

I had 17,000 photos on my hard drive well organized in folders before installing Photoshop Elements 11 today. I was able to get it to import only 467 into the catalog. I tried browsing, searching, selecting files and no matter what I did to bring inthe remainders (including trying to bring in folders with only 60-80 in each, moving files into new folders, etc.) and still can't see them in the organizer view. It allows me to highlight the folders or highlight the photo jpg files separately, says it is getting media, but then comes back with message that "files are not in correct format or are in the catalog" but they ARE in normal format jpeg, can view in other programs, and they are NOT visible in the catalog. Very frustrating, especially after wasting hours downloading the program from Amazon Marketplace - took hours, then had errors and had to redo twice. Running WIN 7 on 6 month old Sony computer with 8 GB RAM and quad processors. Thanks for any help.

You should try posting in the PhotoShop Elements forum, especially if no one else here has a better suggestion to offer.  It is possible someone else has encountered the same problem and you could search there to see.  If you post there and you do have an error message, you should include the details of that error message.

  • How do I remove on-line help files (other than English)

When I do a search within Files (OFO) that returns on-line help documents, I get a list of all the on-line help files for EVERY language. I'd like to eliminate the non-English language on-line help files so my users don't have to click every link to figure out which one is in English.
I have already created a TAR for this, but the person that responded suggested that I could just delete all of the non-English on-line help folders as the Files Admin. However, as Files Admin, I didn't have appropriate permissions to do so.

Try ordering your songs by date added. The ones you just added will be at the top (or the bottom) - then you've just got to find where the newly added list stops and the old tracks begin and select all the tracks from then onwards. Sorted.
    Hope that helps.

I doubt it, but you should ask the vendor who sold it to you. Perhaps they will do it for good will.

  • How do I uninstall photoshop elements 6 (windows) when there is not option in add-remove programs

How do I uninstall photoshop elements 6 (windows) when there is not option in add-remove programs.  I have looked on my hard drive extensively for a library or utility folder that would have an uninstall program, nothing.  I want to install Elements 9, but have found out that Elements 9 does not remove Elements 6, so I want to remove elements 6 first.

Strange that PSE6 does not show up via the control pane.
I wouldn’t worry about uninstalling it. The two versions sit happily side by side and PSE6 takes up hardly any file space compared with PSE9.

  • How can I save a Photoshop Elements 12 file as HTML?

How can I save a Photoshop Elements 12 file as HTML?

Sorry, not possible in PSE itself. You'd need to put your photo into the web creation software you use. If you are using an older version of PSE some versions created web albums/galleries which included an index.html page, but that's as much as PSE does. There's nothing like that in PSE 12 since Adobe wants you to use Revel for photo sharing now.

  • How to completely delete Photoshop Elements from my computer??

    Hi
I am trying to completely remove Photoshop Elements from my computer.   So far, I have failed in my attempts to do this.   The reason I'm doing this is b/c for some reason that I can't fathom, the folders in My Pictures -- the folders named by shot date -- contain random duplicates. When this happens, the file names folow the convention of DSC_0222 and DSC_0222-1. Exactly the same file size and metadata.  In some folders, every picture is duplicated. In other folders, only selected pitcures within the folder are duplicated.   I can't figure out how they got there -- e.g. it doesn't seem to bear any connection to the photos I've edited, which was one theory I had for a while.   Is Elements responsible? Or is this some sort of bug in the download process from the camera (I have a Nikon D40).  Anyway, I've given up on trying to sovle this problem and decided I would go back to the beginning and reload everything from my camera.   So, my real question here is about how to completely uninstall Elements.
Here's what I did:    I uninstalled Photoshop Elements through the Add/remove programs utility.  I got no errors during the uninstall process.   Then I completely deleted the My Pictures directory (don't worry -- I have it backed up in multiple places!!).   So, at this point there are *no* pictures on my computer at all.    I reinstall Elements, open it up and -- you guessed it!!! -- the catalog is still there with all the thumbnails of the pictures that i deleted from my hard disk.   Of course, each thumbnail is flagged as "Missing File".
So, how do I uninstall/reinstall Elements and get it to forget all memory of the previous catalog?   Why is it "remembering" it in this way when the pictures aren't even on the computer anymore?  Isn't this a bug???
I've been working on this issue for much longer than I care to remember-- if anyone can tell me how to get myself truly back to ground-zero so I can start over I would be deeply grateful.   After upgrading to Elements 9 (from 7) to try to solve this problem I am close to just abandoning Elements entirely.....
WHile we're at it, if anyone has any idea where the duplicates pictures are coming from and how I prevent that from happening, I'm' all ears!!!!
    Thanks!

    Hi
Thanks so much for the response.   So, Help/System Info says that the catalog is here:
    Catalog Location: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\Elements Organizer\Catalogs\My Catalog\
but no such file appaers to exist.  In fact, I can only get as far as All Users.   Then there is no directory under that called "Application Data".
i'm still seeing the thumbnails when I got into Elements tho'....   :-(

  • How do I delete Photoshop Elements from my PC - EVERYTHING - so I can do a totally clean install

I did not use adobe to backup and got a new hard drive (actually a SSD). Old hard drive is now F (was C).  Have worked with Adobe.  No success.  Catalogs are messed up because they use the unique identifier of the old hard drive.  I have given up trying to fix this and just want to start over so Elements doesn't establish a new catalog that is messed up just like the old catalogs.  Where is this information stored besides in the elements database.  I have, I think, deleted all versions on my PC and all catalogs I can find, then reinstalled and got a bad catalog again.  HELP.  I just want to start all over.  I have a PC with Windows 7.  It has had a number of editions of elements (6,10,13) on the this PC over the last 5 years. Thanks. Paul

    Hello Paul,
I would first suggest trying to reset the default preferences of Photoshop Elements to see if that would fix your issue.
Preference settings control how Photoshop Elements Editor displays images, cursors, and transparencies, saves files, uses plug‑ins and scratch disks, and so on. If the application exhibits unexpected behavior, the preferences file could be damaged. You can restore all preferences to their defaults.
Note: Deleting the preferences file is an action that cannot be undone.
    Do one of the following:
Press and hold Alt+Control+Shift (Mac: Option+Command+Shift) immediately after Photoshop Elements begins launching. Click Yes to delete the Adobe Photoshop Elements settings file.
Go to Edit > Preferences (Mac: Photoshop Elements > Preferences > General), click the Reset Preferences on next launch button, and then click OK. When you restart Adobe Photoshop Elements, all preferences are reset to default settings.
A new preferences file is created the next time you start Photoshop Elements Editor. For information on a specific preference option, search for the preference name in Help.
However, if you want to delete it entirely you can start by running the uninstaller or then ensuring all files were deleted manually.
    Run the uninstaller
    Close all applications.
Choose Start > Control Panel or Start > Settings > Control Panel.
    Do one of the following:
Windows 7, Vista: If the Control Panel is in a Control Panel Home view, then click Uninstall A Program under Programs.
Windows 7, Vista: If the Control Panel is in Classic View, then double-click Programs And Features.
In the list of installed programs, select Adobe Photoshop Elements 10, and then click Uninstall or Remove.
    Click next.
Click Remove, and then follow the remaining onscreen instructions to complete the removal.
    Remove Separate Files
Note: Some of the folders below are hidden. By default, Windows Explorer does not display hidden files and folders. To show these hidden folders, see Show hidden files, folders, and filename extensions.
    Stop the Watch Folders service
The Watch Folders service runs in the background on your computer. The service detects photos that you add to folders that are on the Organizer's watch folder list. If this service is running, then you can't remove all of the folders listed in the next section.
Choose Start > Run (Windows XP) or click Start (Windows 7 and Vista).
Type services.msc and then press Enter.
In the list of services, locate Adobe Active File Monitor V10. If it is not listed, this section.
Right-click Adobe Active File Monitor V10, and then do one of the following:
Choose Stop from the pop-up menu. Proceed to the next step.
If Stop is unavailable (it is dimmed), then the service is already stopped. Proceed to the next step.

  • How are pictures in Photoshop elements 9 linked to program?

I have 40,00 plus pictures shown in my elements program and since I bought and loaded Photoshop elements 9 (I previously had versions 3,4,5,6,7,8), I get the notice "searching for missing files" and can't use the program software for photo processing. I downloaded all my pictures from Windows 7 pictures on my computer and uninstalled Photoshop Elements 9 from my computer..
When I reinstalled PE 9, my pictures were there even though I had eliminated them (I thought) from my hard drive and the problem of "searching for muissing file" still existed.
How are my pictures attached to PE 9 and how do I eliminate that link and start all over with PE 9?
    Need help

Ohboy 108Thanks for your suggestions and interest.I downloaded all my pictures to an external hard drive, cleared out my internal hard drive photos and now use my external hard drive as the storage and source. No problem with "Elements" constantly looking for lost files.

My guess is that you have solved the problem but if continues maybe this will help. I had a similar problem where pictures kept showing up in Organizer even though I had deleted the catalog and rebuilt it and even uninstalled and reinstalled PSE 9.  I solved it by checking under edit-preferences-files and making sure that the save location was correct.  I also changed the catalog location from the default.  I suspect that there was a registry entry pointing to the old file and/or catalog location.

I have now downloaded all the pictures in my camera directly into PSE Organiser. The pictures are all in folders listed by date the pictures were taken. Are they now safely housed in the PSE program?
PSE does not contain your photos. The photos are on your hard disk(s) somewhere, wherever they were put when they were moved from the camera to the hard disk (might be the default location chosen by PSE).
Can I delete the old Canon programs, which are still sitting on my Mac?
    Yes
And if I want to back up on an external hard-drive, how do I do that? Just drag the whole lot across?
Your interest in making backups is to be commended.
There are many ways to make backups, including the way you just suggested. You can also create a backup using PSE (which I recommend) since it includes the photos and the very important catalog file. In PSE, File->Backup Catalog, and set the destination of the backup to your external HD. Remember to do this regularly.
Sometimes when I've used 'Smart Fix" or other tools in the Photo Fix toolbox, I'm not happy with the result. But how can I 'undo' a fix and revert to how it was before?
PSE should create a version set when you do any editing, including the Smart Fix. Thus, you just need to expand the version set (right-click on the photo) to see both the original and the Smart Fix. Then you can delete the Smart Fix version.
-- I want to create an album "Europe 2012", and within it categories for UK, France, Italy etc. But although I hit 'create album category' when Europe 2012 is highlighted, the category just attaches to the last listed album - something completely unrelated. How do I ensure categories are within the correct albums?
I'm going to strongly recommend you don't do this via albums (unless your intent is to share the contents of the albums online somehow, in which case use Albums). I recommend you use tags instead of albums for this purpose. You can create a tag called Europe under Places, and another tag under Europe called France. I would also recommend you not bother including year or other calendar information in the tag (or album) names. You want "Europe" as your tag, not "Europe 2012". Why? Because you can always segregate by year (or other calendar time period) using the PSE Timeline; there's no need to do extra work to segregate the tags by year (or other calendar time period).

How do I ask photoshop elements to search for and only add pictures on my computer?

Please tell me its a simple fix???

    My suggestion:
    Read the help file carefully:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/elements-organizer/using/workspaces.html
Now have a look at the the organizer display layout. Just over the main display panel where thumbnails are shown, there is a drop-down menu to choose the sort order. I assume you are on a recent version of Elements? If you are on PSE12 or 13 you can choose the chronological order (ascending or descending), the filename order, or the import batch. Additionally, if you are viewing an album you can have a manual custom sort.
My other advice is that before you use the organizer, you take the time to read this help file carefully:
Elements Organizer Help | Creating and editing catalogs
The organizer is a very power tool if you understand what it can do and if you don't have misconceptions about how it works. It's a powerful toolset  based on catalogs. It can handle and manage folders and files, but that's not its main purpose. Its ability to manage the information included in the exif metadata of your files and the important information you enter with categories, keywords, captions, notes, ratings or the way you include pictures in albums, creations, stacks or version sets is very powerful.

  • How do I stop Photoshop elements 13 from crashing?

Now whenever I pause for about 30 seconds it crashes.
I have looked at many articles and have not found anything that worked.  Can someone help me?

To answer your question directly [ How do I stop Photoshop elements 13 from crashing? ] , the only way I can think of is to reset your preferences file.  The method in PSE13 must be the same as in 10 and 11 and it is as shown in this thread:
<can't get pse10 to take my styles, have had pse 10 since 2011 bought pse13 and installed, uninstalled pse10 inorder to get pse13 to install easer, I reinstalled pse10 but now the stules I have do not appear in the effect section. I have checked BOTh secti>
Read post # 3 and see if it works in PSE13.
Good luck and post back whether or not it worked.
