How do I remove PSE 7 after installing PSE 8?

After successfully installing PSE 8, I tried to remove PSE 7 from my Dell PC computer. However, PSE 7's icon is not displayed in Vista's "uninstall or change" window (the place where Vista shows all the installed programs). Only PSE 8's icon appears. PSE 7 continues to work fine, as does PSE 8, but what in the world is going on? I'd be grateful for any ideas about a solution to this matter.

saurabh288:
Many thanks. I knew there had to be a way to get rid of it. However,
so far, I'm using both 7 and 8 and it's okay.
Quoting saurabh288 <[email protected]>:
In case you want to uninstall PSE7, you can again run the setup.exe.
This will uninstall PSE7. Or you can download the cleanup utility
provided by microsoft, which also uninstalls the application.

  • How do I remove duplicate applications after installing Tiger 10.7.2?

After installing Lion 10.7.2 I have ten duplicate applications, all are applications that are generally included in MAC software (ie DVD playe, iChat, iTunes, Mail, etc.). How do I remove the duplicates? I tried deleting one from the folder where I generally kept it, then replaced it with the newer version that loaded with 10.7.2. However, that created a duplicate again.

    Hi,
I can (somewhat) speak for iChat.
iChat should always be kept in the  Applications folder - so much so that it should not be put in any sub folder (I have heard of people putting it in an IM apps folder or lumping all Apple Apps in one folder).
This unfortunately causes problems in Updating (iChat gets updated from time to time in OS Updates) and in Upgrades (Such as moving to Lion) as the Apps are not "in the right place".
    Does this help ?

If you want an AV program compatible with Lion then look at Intego Virus Barrier 6.

  • How to completely remove mac os and install windows 7 on macbook pro with retina display 15 inch

how to completely remove mac os and install windows 7 on macbook pro with retina display 15 inch

There's not much sense in purchasing a Mac to run only Windows on it.  Keep in mind that drivers for Windows are a secondary concern for Apple.  While Windows will typicall run fine, things like power managment are not optimized under Windows (you'll get less time on battery while running Windows).  You will also not be able to install firmware updates.  Firmware updates might be necessary whether you run Windows or OS X as they are updates to the code in your hardware and are not OS-specific.  You must be running OS X in order to install a firmware update.  You can do this even if you boot off of an external drive with OS X installed on it.  At the very least, you should keep just a small partition for OS X on your internal drive.

If you can download the ML installer you can make a bootable install media by using:
    http://liondiskmaker.com/
If your Mini came with ML you can also boot to Internet Recovery
OS X: About OS X Recovery
and it will install ML. Make sure you boot to Internet Recovery and not the Recovery Partition. If to the partition you will only get Mavericks.

How do I remove the updates after you have updated them?

In iOS 7 they remain in a list. This is because now you can optionally turn on automatic app update and so you may want to be able to tell what apps have updated recently. You can just ignore the list if you don't care. Also you will only see the red number badge when there are new ones to update.

If you want to just disable the Server aspect, this should work for both Lion and Mountain Lion...

If you want to completely start over, backup your /Users and /Applications directories and re-install the client OS.

As the title says - is it safe to remove Logic 9 after installing Pro X? It is really taking up a lot of room on my computer.
Will I lose much (if anything?)???
    Thanks in advance!
    Tom

As octopi said, it's hardly worth it....
    But...
Certainly don't use App Zapper...... or anything similar..... you will likely end up having to reinstall LPX and all it's additional content again and end up still using up almost the same amount of disk space in the end.
If you really have to save space, delete any Apple Loops that you feel you wont need and leave the rest, well alone.

  • How to recover Passwords Plus data after installing Lion?

How to recover Passwords Plus data after installing Lion?

While waiting for DataViz to rewrite the app, get another hard drive and install 10.6 on that; re-start from there, you can then open Passwords Plus. Use whatever method you like to copy the data. A bit of a chore yes, but I can't think of another way.
There is in the AppStore Ascendo DataVault which performs the same function. I am going to wait a week for DataViz, then jump ship.

  • How to uninstall Adobe Edge Reflow after installing Adobe Edge Reflow CC

After installing Adobe Edge Reflow CC via Creative Cloud I have noticed I still have Adobe Edge Reflow on my machine.
There is no specific uninstaller in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers
So how do I uninstall it?

Jarrid it sounds like you may be having more severe issues since this is the second program you are now stating you are not able to uninstall.
I would recommend you uninstall all currently installed Adobe Creative software using the uninstallers in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers folder.  Once this is done you can use the  CS Cleaner Tool to verify a complete removal.  You can find details at CS Cleaner Tool for installation problems | CCM, CS6, CS5.5, CS5, CS4, CS3 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html.

  • How can I remove powerpc software after I have downloaded Lion

How do I remove power pc software from my imac after already installing Lion.  The programs to remove them are, of course, dead now also.

Any app that will not work will have a circle and slash through it. Go to application folder and look for apps icon with this sign. Just delete them by dragging to trash. If you would like to be thorough there are apps like appscleaner and others that will also remove associated files. Although leaving them there will not hurt.

  • How can I partition internal HDD after installing Windows 7 Professional via Boot Camp 4.0?

I recently purchased MacBook Pro 13" (Late 2011) model with OS X v10.7.2 Lion installed. I've upgraded to OS X v10.7.3 Lion and updated all other software.
I require Windows 7 for some Windows based softwares that do not support Mac OS X. Therefore, used Boot Camp 4.0 to install Windows 7 and then tried partitioning single internal HDD  to have 3 partitions (4 total including BOOTCAMP partition). Disk Utility created a 648.5MB partition and then I was able to create 3 other partitions of custom sizes. After applying these changes, I got an error message that said selected volume size is too small. I resized this 648.5MB partion to a custom size and had total 4 partitions, including BOOTCAMP.
After reapplying these changes, BOOTCAMP partition was removed and I was left with only 3 partitions and empty space.
I've tried several different ways to partition the disk, all in vein. Is there a way I can partition my single internal HDD after installing Windows 7 Professional via Boot Camp 4.0?

You can't do what you want with GUI utilities, which will only allow a total of 4 partitions due to the limitation of MBR needed to support Windows. Those four partitions: EFI System (hidden), Mac OS, Recovery HD (hidden), Windows. So with Lion, you only get two visible partitions if you're going to use Windows with BootCamp. You can't make anymore with the included graphical tools.
If you need more partitions you'll need to use something like GPT fdisk (gdisk) to create the partitions in the GPT first. Then add the Windows partition only to the MBR and flag it as bootable. gdisk can be googled and downloaded for Mac OS X off sourceforge. It is not a GUI tool.

  • How to keep all my itunes after install of leopard?

Assume I am not all that when it comes to macs. Not new but rusty.
I have tiger with itunes and it has loads of podcasts/albums(rips) etc, and also on my ipod touch. I would like some help as to how do I keep all this after I install leopard. I think I am going for a full install rather than an upgrade.
The mac is an imac with pre-installed tiger. I am sure there is some way of keeping my itunes folder after i wipe the drive but have never done anything beyond fill up ipods with stuff.
I thank you in advance for any pointers.

    Hi,
I would suggest backing up your entire iTunes Music folder to an external hard drive or disk if the folder size is practical. To retain your playlists for reimport later on, open iTunes, select the Music Library and choose File->Export Library then save it off system along with the back up.
I recommend using Terminal to back up your iTunes Music folder because Finder's drag and drop can sometimes corrupt copied files, particularly when the directory is large. Suppose you've connected a firewire or usb external hard drive and you can see it mounted on your Desktop, here's what I would do using Terminal (/Applications/Utilities):
    Open the directory ~/Music/iTunes/
Open Terminal and type the command scp -r. Now drag in the folder iTunes Music (your copy source). Next drag in the external drive mounted on your Desktop (your copy destination). The Terminal window should now read something similar to this, press Return to start the copy process:
    scp -r ~/Music/iTunes/iTunes\ Music /Volumes/External HD
When the process is complete the command prompt will return back to you. If you want to see the copy in progress change scp -r for scp -v -r. The -v makes the process verbose.
I'm with you on choosing a clean install, i choose this method every time for upgrades. Archive and Install presents the possibility of dragging old conflicts back into a clean system.
