I need to re-OCR some texts that have a mix of oriental and western scripts. Acrobat only allows me to choose one language at a time, and too much is lost in the process. So I want to undo the Acrobat OCR from a PDF. How do I do this?
I found a web page showing how to export it to Microsoft XMS and then remake the PDF, but the resultant PDF looks very different from the original.

That is true as long as you do not use ClearScan that does not put the text behind the image. With clearscan it is hard to go back (good reason to work on copies). One thing you can do if what you see on screen is still what you want, just save as a TIFF file. The save will create a TIFF file for every page of the PDF. Those can be reloaded into Acrobat as images and you can start your OCR over. This time, try to save a copy first.

I used the Start Sampling option in the Safari Debug drop down menu in a attempt to solve a slowdown problem. A window then appeared on the desktop showing Uptime, Pages, and Resources which persists although I have stopped sampling, quit Debug, quit Safari, and restarted--and moving it to Trash won't work. (My slowdown problem has been solved.) How do I remove this "Uptime-etc." see-through window from my desktop? Nothing on the Debug drop down menu is checked and Sampling and Stress Test lines read Start---, not Stop---. Thanks for any help.

Thanks, but this information was not useful. First it was outdated (2012 and the software is 2013/2104) in the Settings/Apps/All section there was no "Text Messaging" icon. Under "Phone/Messaging" the clear cache was not possible, it was not available, an active option.
VERIZON/GOOGLE - I am still hoping to learn how to remove my photo from my text messages - why is this so difficult? Why is something like this added without my permission or at my request? May be a reason to jump ship to iOS.

How can I remove a tablet device that isn't there?

In one of our test environments we've got an Xserve running OSX 10.5.6, inside is running Server 10.5 in VMWare Fusion.
Now, the VM thinks it has a tablet device installed, as is evidenced by the ink tab showing up in system preferences (the host does not have the ink option there). Obviously there is no tablet device installed. The VM was set up by one of our IT guys who has already reinstalled it, noting no options during setup about a tablet device.
This problem is causing one piece of software to not work in the VM, or at least, the UI doesn't. There are thousands of console messages reading "QCocoaView handleTabletEvent: This tablet device is unknown (received no proximity event for it). Discarding event"
Question is, how can I remove the tablet device so that this software will start working? I've checked all through VMWare Fusion's options/preferences & couldn't find anything there and Googling has turned up nothing so far.

Try activating the sidebar, menu bar, and status bar and see if this is close enough to the previous version to make you content. It is easier than downgrading and eventually you will be forced to run a newer iTunes unless you have an endless supply of the model computer you currently own.
You may be able to go back with Time Machine but this may involve restoring other items too (https://discussions.apple.com/message/20441404). Alternatively:
Back up your computer first, in case the unexpected happens.
Quit iTunes.
Get iTunes 10.7 from http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1576 or the direct download link at: http://appldnld.apple.com/iTunes10/041-7195.20120912.d3uzQ/iTunes10.7.dmg
Do a few preparatory steps by making sure all iTunes components are not running and cleaning old files.   See https://discussions.apple.com/message/20475394. Do steps 3 and 4. Replace the iTunes 11 application with iTunes 10.7. Simply dragging the application to the trash may not work. Lion (OSX 10.7) and newer systems have iTunes integrated into the operating system and deleting is a bit more involved. Two ways to do this are:
1. (Easier) Use the shareware Pacifist utility (http://www.charlessoft.com/) to install iTunes 10.7 including all associated system files. Details at http://forums.macrumors.com/showpost.php?p=16400819&postcount=6
2. (More work) Check this reference on how to delete the iTunes application itself:

    After deleting the application there may be other files that need downgrading too. See the note about error -42408 at the end of this post. This may include these files in /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/ which apparently get updated by iTunes 11:

After doing one of the two procedures above you will have to rescue the most recent old iTunes library from your iTunes > Previous Libraries folder. Note, this will revert your library to the version at the time of the upgrade and you will have to update any changes made since. See:

Check Safari/Preferences/Passwords to see if the Facebook account is there. If so, select it and remove it. If you are still having problems, Safari/Preferences/Advanced - enable the Develop menu, then go there and Empty Caches. Quit/reopen Safari and test. If that doesn't work, Safari/Reset Safari.

No question about that. If you can "see" Travis's device, then he can likely "see" your Time Capsule.
I'm just concerned that whomever the APExpress belongs to could be changing settings on my computer or Time Capsule that would cause the issues with me not being able to backup.
Make sure that you have a Time Capsule base station password. Unless a user has that password, they might be able to "see" your Time Capsule, but they cannot access any of the data on the Time Capsule or change the settings.
Open AirPort Utility, click on the Time Capsule and click Manual Setup
Then, click the Time Capsule tab below the icons to see the device name and password for your device. Make sure that you have entered the password and confirmed. Click Update if you have made any changes.
The message I get is "The backup was not performed because an error occurred while copying files to the backup disk. The problem may be temporary. Try again later to back up. If the problem persists, use Disk Utility to repair your backup disk."
I am not sure what this error means, because I cannot duplicate it here to test.

You installed a hacked app, originally from the Mac App Store. It contains the receipt for a different app, downloaded using an account that you don't control. You need to identify and remove the hacked app.
Important: The app you need to remove is not necessarily the one named in the App Store alert. For example, the App Store may prompt you to update "Angry Birds" or "Twitter," but the hacked app may be something else entirely. Don't make any assumptions about which app you're looking for. "MacKeeper" has only one useful feature: it deletes itself.

IMPORTANT: "MacKeeper" has what the developer calls an “encryption” feature. In my tests, I didn't try to verify what this feature really does. I think I understand what you are asking for. If I am wrong, please try to explain it a bit more.
The name shown may be different than the name of the vi file. To do this, your source VI and popup on its icon. From the short menu that comes up, select VI properties. In the top ring, select Window Appearance. The page that comes up lets you set various things that can affect the appearance of the VI. What you want to change is the window title. Uncheck the Same as VI name checkbox and change the string to whatever you want it to be.
