How do I remove songs from my iPad?

On iTunes, under my iPad, I have checked only several playlists. And yet when I sync my iPad to my iMac all the songs in my library sync to my iPad
And yes everything is up to date and current.  So how do I stop this from happening.
Thanks

Hey Demo. Thanks for the response. Yup positive the Sync entire library is not checked. Also there is no cloud symbol next to any of the  songs on my iPad. There is however duplicates of almost every song. here is a screen shot of my ipad library.   Also my iPad shows over 4,000 songs downloaded to memory. But on iTunes on my iMac it shows only to sync selected playlists which shows 1200 songs.
Thanks again for for your help.

  • How do you remove songs from your iPad and iPhone?

My iPad's plugged into my Mac, and I want to remove some songs but can't find a delete button on either my iTunes or iPad.
    What's the secret?

Very helpful. Be aware that the confusion here was what to click in iTunes once your device was plugged in the USB of your computer. If you open the device pulldown in the left column you'll see Music, Movies, etc. I was selecting Music, which seemed logical, but was not able to uncheck the songs I wanted off my iPad. But if you click/select the listed device, and then click Music in the tabs at the top of your iTunes page, you'll see all your music in your Music library from which you can check to port to your device, or if already on your device, uncheck if you want them off it.
NOTE: be sure after you click Music to click Sync Music, but then BE SURE to click the radio button for "Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres." Doing so then displays all your songs in our iTunes Music Library with checkboxes by each one.

  • How can I remove songs from my iphone but they still stay in my library

I have set up my music to sync only checked items, however, all the songs are still on my iphone.  I only want certain songs on my phone, but it still shows several songs that I have not checked off.  How do I remove songs from my iphone but they still will stay in my library.

What you need to do is go to music, and slide your finger to the right on the song you want to remove from your device. The song will still show in the music app but will have a cloud with an arrow beside it and you would have to re-download the song to your device to be able to listen to it. And also, this will only take the song off your device and it won't be removed from your library on iTunes. I hope this helps!

How can I remove Safari from my iPad?

You can't remove any of the built-in apps, including Safari. You can hide it via Settings > General > Restrictions > Safari 'off', but the app can't be deleted.

How can I remove apps from my iPad? It does not have the little "x" option on the iPad like the iPhones.

It works just the same as an iPhone. A long hold on an icon will cause them all to start wobbling, drag to move around or tap the X to remove. You can't remove any of the built-in apps so these won't get an X to tap.

  • How do I transfer songs from my iPad to my computer

I just got an iPad...I bought songs on iTunes but I don't know how to transfer the songs from my iPad to my computer

You can use the transfer the purchases feature to put the music into itunes on your computer. Read the instructions copied from......
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1848
If you want to transfer iTunes Store purchases from an iOS device or iPod to a computer, be sure to authorize the computer before connecting the device. To authorize, follow these steps:
    Open iTunes.
From the Store menu, choose Authorize Computer.
In the dialog that appears, the Apple ID button is selected by default.
Enter your Apple ID and password, then click the Authorize button.
If the iTunes Store purchases on your device were purchased with multiple accounts, you will need to authorize the computer for each one.To transfer iTunes Store purchases from your device to a computer, follow these steps:
Connect your device to the computer. If it is synced with another iTunes library, the following dialog may appear:
    Click the Transfer Purchases button.
Important: Clicking Erase and Sync will delete any existing content currently on your device. The content will be replaced with whatever existing content is in the current iTunes library your device is connected to. If there is no content in the iTunes library, nothing will be synced to your device, and your device will be empty.
iTunes will begin copying any purchases made with any account for which the computer is authorized.
If when you connect your device you are not prompted by the dialog above, it could be that the option "Do not ask me again" was previously selected. Fortunately, there are two more ways you can copy your purchases from your device.
After connecting your device to the computer and its icon appears in iTunes, you can choose Transfer Purchases from "Your device name" from the File menu.
Or, you can right-click (Windows or Mac) or Control-click (Mac only) your device in the iTunes Source list, then choose Transfer Purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
Please note that this feature only works for items that were purchased on the iTunes Store. Any items imported from audio CDs or acquired from other sources will not copy from your device to the iTunes library.

  • How do I transfer songs from my iPad to my iTunes library?

How can I transfer songs from my iPad to my iTunes account?  I want to update my iPads but I don't want to lose all the songs that aren't in my iTunes account yet.

Connect the iPad to your computer's iTunes and you should be able to copy iTunes purchases off the iPad to your computer via File > Transfer Purchases (File > Devices > Transfer Purchases on iTunes 11). If any of the music wasn't purchased from iTunes and you don't have it on your computer nor on a backup then you will need to find a third-party program which copy them over - there are some listed half-way down this page.
You may also want to copy photos and any important documents off the iPad as well e.g. via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via wifi, email, dropbox etc - they should be included in the backup, but it's best to have a copy of them outside of the backup just in case. You can then force a backup of the iPad by right-clicking the iPad 'Device' on the left-hand side of iTunes and selecting 'Backup'.
You can then start the update by selecting the iPad on the left-hand side of iTunes, and on the Summary tab on the right-hand side clicking the Check For Updates button

I updated my Iphone to the most recent Os now how do I remove songs from my ipod section of the phone. With the old Os I would just swipe and recieve a delete option that is not currently happening

You delete the same way as IOS 5.  I have no issue deleting music with IOS 6 by swiping left to right to delete.

  • HT1390 How can I remove rentals from my ipad mini?  I have asked I tunes and nothing works.  They sent me here

How can I remove rentals from my ipad mini??  I have asked the itunes store and they cannot help.  They will not dissappear and I can`t load anymore. And one of them is just a grey box...

I'd defiantly try a factory reset first to see how things look afterwards.
Its safe to say IOS8 is buggy for me and I'm sure Apple will fix many of the issues soon. The main problems I have experienced to date on a factory reset iPad Mini are as follows:
    General system slow down.
Safari is very slow to render web pages, this could be WIFI related.
The keyboard seems slow to respond especially within Safari.
I opened a new email earlier this morning and it caused the iPad to auto reboot. Thats a first for me on an Apple device.
The ability to make / receive a call on your iPad always seems to fail for me. My iPad will ring when a call is received I will answer but it will immediately fail to connect. The same happens on outgoing calls.
Battery life on first impressions seems to have suffered since the upgrade.
    Role on IOS 8.0.1...

  • How do I delete songs from my iPad?

How can I delete songs from my iPad? Thanks all!

Depends on how they were put on your iPad in the first place.
    1.  If purchased on iPad, in Music app > Songs swipe the song you want to delete to the right and a delete box appears
    2.  If synced from iTunes on your computer, you need to connect your iPad to your computer via USB and delete them there.

  • How do I remove videos from my ipad?

How do I remove videos from my iPad mini?

What app are they in ? If the Videos app then you should be able to delete them via the Edit button at the top right of the Films or TV Programmes selection screens in the app, or via Settings > General > Usage > Videos (that also has an Edit button top right, and you can swipe/drag across from right-to-left on an individual film or episode and you should get a Delete button on it). Films and/or TV programmes in the Videos app that have the cloud symbol on them are not stored on your iPad, they are only in the cloud (Settings > iTunes & App Store > Videos 'off' to stop them showing).
