What does this have to do with the battery?
You should read the manual.
Just remove the sim card:

  • How can I remove the back cover for my ipod?

I need to remove the cover because my ipod seems to be suffering from a hardrive problem. It used to just cycle through all the songs in a playlist or randomly play 5 seconds and skip to the next song, but now it just makes a whirring noise when I try to turn it on and cannot get past the apple logo.
Sometimes I get the little unhappy ipod logo and the support website but thats it.
Iv tried going into diagnostic mode and attempting to run a few tests. It failed a USB test in this mode so i think that may be one of the problems with it.
Does anyone know of a fool proof way of removing the case so I can dis/reconnect the harddrive?
      Windows XP

Before you remove the back cover of your iPod - which will loss the warranty
    Read the following
he Sad iPods icon or folder with an exclamation mark are the toughest problems to deal with, and must do a Restore in order to fix it. However, when your iPod is showing this icon, it is probably too late for your computer to recognize the iPod.
    1. Try these five steps (known as the five Rs) and it would conquer most iPod issues.
    http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/five_rs/
    2. Try to put the iPod into Disk Mode if it fails to appear on the desktop
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93651
    Still can't see your iPod?
Several things could keep iPod from appearing in iTunes or in the Desktop/Finder when you connect it to your PC/Mac. The most likely causes are listed below in logical order. Check from the top of the list to see if that is what's keeping iPod from appearing.
    3. Try to wait 30 minutes while iPod is charging.
    4. Try another known-good FireWire or USB through Dock Connector cable.
    5. Try another known-good FireWire or USB port on your computer .
    6. Try to disconnect all devices from your computer's FireWire and USB ports.
    7. Windows users having trouble with their iPods should locate a Mac user. We've found that in many cases when an iPod won't show up on a PC that it will show up on the Mac. Then it can be restored. When the PC user returns to his computer the iPod will be recognized by the PC, reformatted for the PC, and usable again. By the way, it works in reverse too. A Mac user often can get his iPod back by connecting it to a PC and restoring it.
    8. Try to do an Erase (Disk Utility) on a Mac computer or a format with a PC (Disk Management tool) but ensure you choose the right Drive (your iPod not your Hard Disk of your computer). You may need to plug and unplug your iPod with the computer for several attempts, and switching around Format and Restore, and hope out of sudden, it will get recognized.
    9. Diagnostic mode solution – which I copied from a thread of a post from thinktwice
“Then I cam across this special Diganostics Mode that you can get to by resetting and then while the Apple is showing pressing the Select and backwards keys simultaneously. It bring up and weird Diagnostic utility witha a abunch of tests. Here is what I did
    - I tried the 5in1 test and got and error on Firewire.
    - I did the HDD R/W and surprisingly it passed.
    - I went on to the HDD scan. This supposedly tkaes acouple of minute so I waited. I think 4-5 dots appeared then nothing. The iPod started to get hot. THe disk was spinning away. After a while the battery got very low. THis test chews up the battery. So I escaped out by resetting and went to connect it to a power source.
My USB was dangling out of my computer and I was too lazy to get the Firewire AC adapter thing going so I connected expecting the whole lockup thing with iTunes. Surprise. IT was recognized immediately and has been working like a champ. So go figure.
Details on Diag mode can be found at http://www.methodshop.com/mp3/ipodsupport/diagnosticmode/index.shtml
10.Let me ask you a question, if an iPod with no iPod software with it. When your connect it with a computer, what would happen?
Yeah, the computer will treat it as a fresh external hard disk, which will get force mounted, the computer will ask you to format the iPod. It does not really matter the format is completed or not, the key is to erase (or partly) the corrupted iPod software on the iPod, after that the computer will recognize it.
Once it has been completed, eject your iPod, open the iPod updater and interestingly, you will able to do the Restore this time.
Base on the above, that's why I suggest Windows users who experience trouble with their iPods should locate a Mac machine or vice versa. PC computer will not recognize a Mac formatted iPod, but it will get mounted in an attempt to format your iPod.
But, if none of these steps address the issue, your iPod may need to be repaired. You can arrange for service at the iPod Service Website.
I have just read an interesting solution about the Sad iPod, it does make sense but the warranty will be waived once you open the iPod, I would not do it myself as I am not good on doing this

  • How do you remove the battery from the Zen V? (Broken alread

I'm so frustrated. I just bought my Zen V yesterday. Last night, I installed the software, charged the battery, added songs, and everything was going well. Today, after listening to it for a few hours, I reconnected the player to my computer so it could charge. About and hour or so into charging, the whole unit shut down and now nothing I do turns it back on. I've tried to reinstall the software. I've try to disconnect and reconnect it to the computer. And I've tried to stick a paper clip into the reset button.
Nothing. It's like it's completely dead, which is ridiculous considering I just bought this thing yesterday evening! I haven't even had it 24 hours yet. So now I'm going to try removing the battery (if that's possible), and if not, I'm afraid I'm just going to have to break down and get an iPod.
Any help would be very much appreciated.

I feel your pain. I just bought a Zen M about 4 weeks ago and it too is broken. The screen will just show the logo when reseted, other than that its just blank. Altho LED and button lights indicated it is on and doesn't go off. Also my computer will sometime reconise it but the programs wont.
Sure, i can just take it back and get a new one, but the fact is i have spent hours if not days putting songs on it and will be real pissed off if i loose them on because there is no back ups on my computer.
If any one can tell me how to pull an miricle, be for i give up and take it back would be apreciated or if same problem happened to them, let me know if they lost all their songs.
    Cheers

  • How the heck do you remove the battery cover on a ...

Please don't tell me to push the release button and slide the cover - been trying that all day, and my fingers are sore from doing it. Help!!!!

Hold the phone in one hand but try to avoid covering the top of the back cover with that hand, using "gentle" pressure press the button at the bottom (if you press too hard you'll jam the cover. Using your thumb on your other hand press up (not in as well)against the moulding around the camera and that should do it. If it wont come off when using reasonable force I would take it to a CNSP for repair.Message Edited by megadodo on 17-Aug-2006

  • How do i remove the top cover for the K410?

I spilled water on the top of my computer, and it messed up one of the USB ports on the top of it...  now the computer constantly pops up connect/disconnect messages.  I want to take the top bezel (or cover, or whatever it's called) off so that i can disconnect (or cut) the cable to that USB port, but i cant figure out how to remove it.  Does anyone know how to take it off?  It's the very top of the machine, which has the power button and 4 or 5 inputs.
Both USB cables go into one plug at the motherboard, otherwise i would just disconnect it there.  I suppose i could cut one of them at the motherboard, but i want to make sure im cutting the right one.
    Thanks for any help.

  • How do I remove the battery from EOS Rebel T3i camera?

Help!  I figured out how to open the compartment and there seems to be a little release mechanism but I can't get it to stay open or actually release the battery.  Anyone know the trick?

I've never used a T3i, but the battery latch is more or less the same.  You should just slide it to the side and the battery will pop out.  You can turn it over while holding it to the side to help it.
However, do you by chance have a generic battery you bought off a third party?  Many of them are sized incorrectly and get stuck.  If that's the case you need someone to hold the latch open while you use a good pair of needle nose and try to get purchase on that little plastic tab.  I had a couple like that for my old 450D.  I ended up wrapping dental floss around the batteries so I had something to pull up on.

  • How Do You Remove the Switch Cover on an HP Pavilion dv7t-1000 ?

I'm trying to replace the keyboard in this beast, but I can't get the Switch Cover (aka "Quick Play "Cover) off. The HP service manual and every video I've seen make it look easy, but this one is just plain STUCK. When I try to lift up from the center as it shows in the manual, it won't budge. I've tried prying the sides up with a guitar pick as shown on YouTube, but that didn't work either.
Has anyone ever done this? Is there a trick to it? I've been successful with similar repairs before, but this looks impossible
    ...Thanks!

I was very hesitant in replacing my HD in the G4 iBook, but it was finally running so slowly, that it was my last resort. Now, the iBook has never run faster, or cooler. I replaced the 40 GB Toshiba with an 80 GB Western Digital Serpico, running 5400 RPM. I was VERY careful, and checked things twice. There are a few tricky sections, and a few parts that can get destroyed, (wire connectors) but overall it was easier than I anticipated. Needle nose pliers and tweezers help!

  • How do I remove the protective cover iphone 5

Unlike prior protective covers I purchased for the iPhone 3 and 4 this one had a liquid and it is attached very securely.  However I need to remove this cover and it appears almost impossible.   Is there a trick to removing this cover from my iPhone 5?

What cover?  You need to get in touch with whomever markets the cover.  Nobody here has any way of knowing which one of the almost countless covers or protective screens you purchased, or how it is attached, nor how to remove it.

  • CAMILEO P10 - How to remove the battery ?

    Hello,
How can i remove the battery from my CAMILEO P10 ?
I wanna use two batterys, but can't remove the first :(
    PLS HELP !
    Thanks in advance !

    Hi
The battery is placed at the bottom of the camera near the SD card slot.
It should not be very tricky to remove the battery.
You need to push out the cover which secures the battery bay in order to get access to the battery. Then press the battery inwards to release it.
