How do I remove the podcast app from my IPad mini

I Am trying to down load IOS 8.1.1 but it saus I do not have enough storage space, my podcast app seems to be using a lot of the storage (638kb) so I need to remove it as I longer use it.
I Also tried to remove books from IBooks to no success
help please

Unfortunately iBooks and podcasts are now preinstalled apps and can't be deleted.

Press and hold any of the apps and after a couple of seconds or so they should start to shake. Then press the 'x' in the top left corner to delete the ones that you don't want, and when you've finished deleting press the home button so as to stop the shaking. If you don't get the 'x' on any of the apps that you've downloaded (you can't delete built-in apps) then check that Settings > General > Restrictions > Deleting Apps isn't set 'off'

I assumed by joining iTunes Match that I would get the 6 gigs back for other items since my music should be on iCloud now. If that is not the case then I need to get my $ back for Match.

Removing music from an iOS device does not remove it from the cloud.
Go to Settings > General > Usage and tap Music (you may need to scroll down in the list). Swipe across "all music" and tap DELETE.

You can't delete the app iMessage.
You can turn it Off or "hide" it with Restrictions.

I would recommend signing out of iMessage or turning this feature off on your iPad. You can sign out of iMessage by selecting Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > Select Your Apple ID > Sign Out. Or you can turn off iMessage by selecting Settings > Messages and turn iMessage off.

I just updated my iOS and now have a watch app icon I can not remove.
I don't want it there. I don't want an apple watch. I will not be buying an apple watch. It's a waste of memory on my device.
My phone is not an advertisement space for the marketing of apple's products. I feel it's crossing a line now with the watch app.

You cannot remove the Watch app. It is a core app like Health, Weather, Compass, etc. Move it to the last page of your Home screens, or put it in a folder if you don't want to see it.

Easy ! I use Comodo Pro Firewall.
1) Click on DEFENSE box.
2) Click on "View Active Process List"
3) Look down the list of processes. Find APDPROXY.EXE.
4) Click it, then click "Terminate and Quarantine"
5) ALL DONE ! No more icon in tray and the program is killed.
APDPROXY - This is lurking about, you can find it on SEARCH from the START button. BUT, you cannot delete it or move it and MSCONFIG does not work. You can disable it as many times as you like - it will keep coming back.
SOLUTION ! Download CCleaner, it is a great little program and free.
Using this you can click on TOOLS, then STARTUP. A list of programs are shown which are enabled at STARTUP. Disabling does not work, just click on APDPROXY and click DELETE. It`s GONE !

It used to be easy to remove the blue dot just play the podcasts for a second in more recent versions of itunes it is harder one has to play it for longer and half the dot is left. How do I select a dozen podcasts and mark them as used. I mean remove the blue dot.

There is really no way to modify Apple's keyboards or add your own in iOS, but there are some apps that may provide a work around.

I am one of the many for whom Application Manager just started to crash every time I tried to open it. I was also getting the 'trial' dialog box, then a request for a serial number, even though I subscribe to Creative Cloud.

How can I remove the Messages icon from iPad.

The preinstalled apps cannot be deleted. You can move it into a folder and place the folder on another screen if you don't want to use the app or see the icon.
Tap and hold down on the icon until it begins wiggling and then drag the wiggling icon on top of another icon - any other app that you do not want to use would be ideal - and that will create a folder. Name the folder whatever you like. Tap anywhere outside of the folder to close it.
While the folder and icons are still wiggling - drag the folder over to the edge of the screen - about halfway over - and just hold it there for a second or so and it will jump over to the next screen. When you are done - Tap the home button to stop the apps from wiggling.
