How do I remove "Toast Lite" window at Startup?

When I start up my computer, an iMac G4, it always shows first, in the Finder window, the application ToastLite window, prompting me to insert a CD for copying music or data. I don't know how this happened; I must have asked for it at some point, but I do not want it to show up forever. I don't really know how to make my question clearer, but I hope someone can help me with a solution. I have looked at Preferences both in ToastLite Roxio, in System Preferences, in Startup Preferences, but have been unable to remove this annoying event. Help, please, someone?

Good news, thanks!
How could one remember all this?
To remember all the little things, you just have to forget all the big/important things in your life!

Are you saying that when you log in, there are finder windows open before you even do anything? If so, that's because last time you logged out you left them open. Next time close all your finder windows before you log out and you should be good.

How can I remove the Windows 8 Mail App from my computer? I am unable to select another mail provider and I absolutely do not want to get my Passport aka Windows Live ID involved with my mail under any conditions whatsoever.
I have a vbs script that installed another mail provider in IE9 but it doesn't seem to work with Windows 8/IE 11.   I want this mail application off my machine entirely.
    How do I accomplish that?

You don't need to un-install it but if you still want to simply right click the mail tile in start>uninstall.

How do I completely remove iTunes from a Windows 8 computer

    Hello mjons79,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information on this, take a look at:
iTunes Store: About authorization and deauthorization
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1420
    To deauthorize a computer
    Open iTunes.
From the Store menu, choose Deauthorize This Computer. (In earlier versions of iTunes, access this option from the Advanced menu).
When prompted, enter your Apple ID and password, then click Deauthorize.
Remember to deauthorize your computer before you sell it, give it away, or get your computer serviced. Also, make sure you deauthorize your computer before you upgrade your RAM, hard disk or other system components, or reinstall Windows. If you do not deauthorize your computer before you upgrade these components, one computer may use multiple authorizations.
    Best of luck,

  • How to properly remove "Network" from Windows Explorer and Save Dialog boxes?

I've recently rolled out Windows 7 and noticed that in some applications (Office 2003 - yes we are due for an upgrade - happening later this year), when a user clicks the down arrow in a "Save As" dialog box to view the available locations - a
list of seemingly every computer in the broadcast domain is generated and displayed.  This takes about 30-45 seconds.  I don't want my users to be able to view a list of every computer in their broadcast domain, and I especially don't want them to
be presented with said list every time they try to save something.  In newer apps, the list is not automatically displayed but is still accessible by clicking the "Network" selection.
What is the proper way to remove this?
    I've tried the following:
    1) Disabling the NetBios over TCPIP service - works but prevents other things from working properly.
    2) Disabling the Computer Browser service - does not work.
    3) Changing HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{F02C1A0D-BE21-4350-88B0-7367FC96EF3C}\ShellFolder\Attributes from b0040064 to b0940064 as suggested here -http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/39699-network-add-remove-navigation-pane.html
.  This seems to work but I cannot find anything that says this is supported by Microsoft and I am wary of what side effects may occur.
    4) Using a GPO to enable the "No Computers Near Me in Network locations" and "No Entire Network in Network locations." - no change.
It seems like there should a simple way to do this as I can't be the only admin that doesn't want their users browsing a list of every computer on the network.
    Thanks!

  • How do I remove an "orphaned" window from a closed application?

    Hi,
Every now and then, I end up with an "orphaned" window on my desktop, left over from a closed application. Currently, I have a login window from the Screen Sharing application that's been spinning the spoked progress wheel next to "Connecting..." for an hour or so. I've already closed the Screen Sharing app, so it's not a straightforward thing to go into Activity Monitor and kill the process. I know that I can reboot the machine to fix this, but I'm wondering if someone might know how to fix this sort of thing without a reboot. Is there some app that I can use that can tell me what process is the "owner" of this window? Since the progress wheel is spinning and I can drag the window around, it would seem that some process has control of it, but I just don't know which one.
    Thanks,
    Ken

    Hi Carolyn,
Thanks for the information, but maybe I didn't clearly explain what happened. I had the Screen Sharing app open, and then I properly closed it down by quitting the application. But one of its windows remained on the desktop. I went into Activity monitor, and the Screen Sharing app wasn't listed in the process list at all. So I'm guessing that this window isn't owned by the Screen Sharing app itself, but from some other process that was spawned by the Screen Sharing app that didn't close when I shut down the Screen Sharing app. Granted, this situation doesn't come up very often, but I've also seen it happen with Norton Antivirus, if I dismount a volume while there's a popup window doing a "scan on mount", with the result that the "scan on mount" window doesn't go away. So given that the process with the "friendly" app name no longer appears in Activity monitor, can you suggest any way to determine which of the running processes "owns" the still-present window?
    Thanks,
    Ken

  • How to completely remove WSUS on Windows 2012 R2?

    Hello guys,
I see plenty of details about clean up previous version of WSUS, but I cannot find any place with more advanced details about the latest one.
Mostly, people advice to completely reinstall the system from scratch.
    Any clue?
    Cheers,

Remove the Role from Roles and Features.
If you don't need the Windows Internal Database for any other roles, remove the WID feature.
If you don't need the Web Server role for any other reasons, remove the Web Server role.

    Hello Lawrence,
Thanks for your answer, but unfortunately, we know, that's not simple as you say.
Digging forums, I recogn, people are struggling with the new WSUS quite hard.
I run several production servers, but that particular one includes something else.
The quick story: after some system crash, I lost chance to update my clients.
But then, I was wondering to completely wipe out the WSUS, then reinstall from scratch again.
Unfortunately, I cannot pass the post installation, but the log in TEMP is empty with the size 1k.
I guess (following by  posts from the 3.0 version), there are entries to the registry, maybe several extra folders to delete, etc.
I haven't seen any compendium about the subject above, even 3.0 got some tips like that.
People are struggling with 6.2,or they are pointed to the knowledge from 3.0, which could be obsolete...

  • How do I remove the old windows boot camp partition which is now useless on my new Macbook pro

I had boot camped windows Vista to my old Macbook Pro 2009.
When I bought a new Macbook Pro Retina Late 2013, I restored from my Time Machine backup. It never put Windows Vista on as there was compatability issues.
I recently tried to partition in Boot Camp to install Windows 8 so that I can use a particular program for work. The "ghost" partition is still there and I can't see an option to make the HD as one again. Boot Camp wants me to format the HD as single and journaled which I understand but if I restore from my backup it puts the "ghost" partition back in. 6 hours of waiting to find that out!
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

    Thanks for responding.
Boot Camp shows my HD as a rectangle when I go to the "partition" tab but nearly half of it is white. Is this the free space?
The error message I got was:-
The disk cannot be partitioned because some of the files could not be moved.
Back up the disk and use Disk Utility to format it as a single Mac OS extended (journaled) volume. Restore your information to the disk and try using Boot Camp assistant again.
I was only making a small partition, so it couldn't have been too big.
There is no evidence of any Windows installation or a physical partition but it must be there to get that message. Is that correct?
I can't see an option to format my whole HD but even if there was, the problem would reappear when restored from TMachine.
    UPDATE:
just tried to make the white area on my HD into a new partition and then erase it.
I'm trying Boot Camp again to see if that has worked. It just takes about 2 hours to get to the problem stage again!!

  • HT2905 How does one remove duplicates in Windows iTunes 11?

Just upgraded to 11. No "show duplicates" option anymore? What gives? Maybe it's hidden...

Show duplicates was missing from iTunes 11.0. Upgrade to iTunes 11.0.1 if you haven't already done so. Use Ctrl+B to display the menu bar if needed.
The show duplicates features are now found under View > Show Duplicates Items or, more usefully, Shift > View > Show Exact Duplicate Items. You need to manually select all but one of each group of repeated items to remove. Don't delete from the hard drive unless you know there really are multiple files instead of multiple references to the same file.
There is also my DeDuper script which automates the process, merges ratings and playcounts and should handle the deletions properly. Please take note of the warning to backup your library before deduping. See this thread for background.

  • How can i remove missing tracks window 7

After upgrading to iTunes 11 I found it deleted my folder destination of MP3's. I have gone and re added all the folders so ot shows I have the music but now I have a bunch of missing files listed witht he exclamation point. What a good way to delete the missing tracks. Im talking thousands!!
    Chris

Try iTunes Folder Watch with its option to scan for dead tracks on startup. Alternatively...
    Lost & Found
Create a playlist called Found, select everything in Music and drag it into the Found playlist. Create a smart playlist called Lost matching All the rules Playlist is Music and Playlist is not Found. Your "missing" tracks will be in this playlist. If it suits your purposes you can select them all with Ctrl-A then delete them with Ctrl-Shift-Delete.

  • How to disable iTunes 12 on Windows 7 startup

Wondering how to prevent itunes from launching automatically when I startup my system. Every answer I've seen refers to unchecking the program from msconfig. I've done that and it does not work.
Every other solution presumes a device, such as an ipod or ipad is connected. No device is connected.
Every other solution involves using CCleaner, which does the same as msconfig but with a GUI.
Any solutions other than the ones above?

See AutoRuns for a tool that should give you full control over what runs at start up.
I've seen hints that some Bluetooth controller software may be responsible for firing iTunes. If your keyboard has media control keys the whatever driver services that could also be responsible.
Suffice it to say iTunes doesn't install as a start-up item so whatever is triggering it is some local configuration issue rather iTunes itself.
If you have iOS devices that are set to sync wirelessly, and iTunes is set to launch when they are connected, it is just conceivable that simply having the iOS devices active when you reboot would be enough to launch iTunes, but I don't think that is the case.
