How do I rename a playlist on iOS device?

Is it possible to rename a playlist directly on an iOS 7 device? I see tips about creating a new playlist, naming it a new name, then adding all the songs from the previous playlist, and finally deleting the old playlist. That seems less than convenient.
Is there a way to do it in iOS 7? If not, does iOS 8 offer any improvement in this area?

I don't think anything has changed about this in iOS 8.
Any one know if iOS 8.1 deals with this problem?

How To : How To : Sync playlists from iOS device back to itunes - Windows (May work on Mac too)
NOTE - THIS WILL ONLY WORK IF YOU HAVE THE MUSIC FILES ON THE COMPUTER ALREADY
If your like me and format your computers only to discover that you've lost all those time consuming playlists that you spent hours on, well your in luck.
Without any Third-Pary programs it's possible to save those awesome playlists, and pull them back from the blink of oblivion.
Step 1 - Connect iDevice to your computer and then open iTunes.
Step 2 - Locate your iDevice on the left side bar on iTunes under the heading 'Devices', click the arrow on the left of the devices name and select a playlist.
Step 3 - Right-Click the selected playlist and choose 'Export playlist', Save it as a Text file.
Step 4 - In iTunes, up the top click 'File' then locate Library, move across to 'Import Playlist...', Select the playlist you just created and click open.
Step 5 - Your playlist will appear on the left side bar under the heading 'Playlists', Select the playlist and attempt to play one of the songs contained.
Step 6 - You would have been prompted that iTunes doesnt see the file, select 'Locate' and then go to the location of your music and locate the file.
(Sorry dont have an image for this one due to having all my music already found)
Step 7 - Doing this once will find all the music in the playlist given that it's in a similar location of the song you found.
Congrats you have successfully moved a playlist back from oblivion

    There's a different method.
    1. On iTunes -> Devices -> <your device> -> Summary -> Check Manually manage music and videos.
    2. On iTunes -> Devices -> <your device> -> Summary -> uncheck Manually manage music and videos.
    done.

  • HT5637 How can I keep separate playlists on linked devices so we can both listen to different playlists when not on wifi

How can i keep separate playlists on linked devices so we can both listen to different music when not on a network or wifi?

    Hi Nancy,
If you keep the entire iTunes folder as it was and you're still using the same platform, you'll be able to keep all your playlist and metadata.

Well, iTunes will only transfer content from the computer to your iPod. However, there's some ways to get around this. Read this carefully:
If you have purchased songs from the iTunes Music Store, then those are pretty easy to transfer to your computer. You'll just need to follow [this instructions|http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305465].
All your other songs (for example, those ripped from your CD's), you'll need to use any 3rd party program to transfer them to your iTunes library!
Some can also transfer your playlists, videos, ratings, podcast...

  • How do I add a playlist from ios 7 to my iphone 4

I want to update my playlist on my iphone 4 with a new one I created in the updated software on my computer ios7, however i can't figure out how to transfer the new playlist from computer to iphone. Any suggestions?

what Apple doesn't understand is a lot of people are multilingual and we too love to buy apps from countries of origin.
What you don't understand is that different countries have different software licensing and selling laws so a single iTunes Store account is not valid in all different countries.
However, Apple does not control which countries specific Apps are available in. This is controlled by the developer who submits the App.
If an App you want to buy is available in one country, but not another - you should contact the developer of the App and ask them to make it available in other countries AppStores.

  • TS3988 Help - How do I manage to remove an IOS device, in this case an IPhone 4S, from my Apple ID account? I want to use this account only for my IPAD

    Hi,
I have managed to initially set up our two IOS devices - my wifes IPhone 4S and my IPAD 2 - in a not so smart way.
I used the same Apple ID account for both devices.
As such it worked, however after a few days we decided to have two different Apple ID accounts, one for each device.
I made a new Apple ID account for my wifes Iphone, and kept the old account for my IPAD.
This is as well working now with both these accounts, however I have found out that my wifes IPhone is still registered under my account.
This I will like to have rectified and cleared, i.e. I want my wife's phone cleared from my Apple ID account, so that my Apple ID account only contain information related to my IPAD 2.
My wife's Apple ID account for her IPhone 4S works fine and we do not need to change anything for this account.
However, how can I clear/edit my own account, so that it only contain information about my IPAD?
For example, when I use the Apps "Find My Iphone" I can see that the system is trying to locate both my IPAD and my wife's IPhone 4S, when I have logged on with my Apple ID account no. This show that one way or the other both devices are registered under my Apple ID account.
I will appreciate some assistance to tell how to rectify this matter,
    Regards,
    Morten

  • How to use iMessage for all the iOS devices registered on one apple ID

I have 5 iOS device for my family on my appleID. But I want have different ID to use iMessage for all devices. Is it possible? How?

Sign in with whatever Apple ID desired on the device in iMessage setup.
This has no affect on the Apple ID used for store purchases or iCloud.

  • How do I become certified to repair iOS devices?

I am a technology specialist in a school district.  We currently have 400 iPads in our district with plans to add 500-600 more over the next 2-3 years.  Unfortunately because we do have so many devices we do see a number of cracked screens among other problems.  It would save us some money if we were able to perform the repairs here on site rather than having to send them out to another company to have them repaired.
On Apple's website I only see ACMT certification listed which apparently does not cover repairs of iOS devices.  I was wondering how myself, or another of our district staff could be trained on repairing iPads so we can purchase replacement parts and do the repairs ourselves.  Is this possible?

None of us here will know why Apple has not to date allowed repairs of iOS devices. All we know is that they don't. The only repairs Apple does on any iOS device has been back-glass replacement in iPhone 4 and replacement of the iPhone 5 screens, and that only in selected Apple Stores.
Note that if you've been using some unauthorized shop to replace broken screens, be aware that in doing so you have voided all further support from Apple for those devices.
    Regards.

  • How to share non-AirPrint printers on iOS devices?

    Hi guys,
I'm running Lion OS X server and I have set up a printer on my server (the printer is not AirPrint friendly). What I want to do is set it up the printer so that I can get iPads and iPhones to be able to see that printer and print to it. I tried a program called Printopia 2 but it did not work, now I am not sure if it is becasue I have to set up something in system preferences or something similar. I have enbaled the printer to be shared.
Does anyone have any idea how I can overcome this problem?
    Thank You.

I use Airprint Activator. ...on 10.6.8...  It works great!  The printers all show up on my ios devices.
I doesn't use the print server on 10.6.8, it just republishes the printers that are in the Sysem Prefs.
I know this because I'm not using the print services on SLS.

  • How can i edit and manage my iOS device on a computer

i have no access to an iOS device. if i did, is it possible to just log in with my iTunes info and manage it that way. i need to manage my storage, pictures, delete a movie that was downloaded on my iOS device, which was an iPhone 4. please help.

You can only manage data stored in iCloud. To do it, if you are in a PC, install iCloud Control Panel > http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1455
Then, open Control Panel > Network and Internet > iCloud, and log in with your Apple ID. After that, select "Manage" and you will be able to delete data from iCloud if you need that

  • How do i manage Calendar on 5 iOS devices

    Hello All,
looking for a little help here.
The problem is managing the Apple Calendar across 5 different Apple iOS devices (one iPhone 5, one iPhone 4s, three iPad minis)
From the iPhone5 i can set a Calendar event and invite anyone and the invite will populate directly in the iOS Calendar app, however when i use the iPhone 4s to do the same thing the invite is sent as an email via Google calendar and not the Apple calendar.
The iPhone 5 has an icCoud using a gmail address, the iPhone 4s has a comcast iCloud address, the iPad minis are using unique iCloud addresses.
Anybody know what is wrong??? Is the gmail address causing issues???
    Thanks

Try going to iCloud.com from your computer, sign into the iCloud account that your 4s is using, open your calendar, click the gear icon on the lower left and choose Preferences, go to the Advanced tab within preferences, then make sure you have selected "In-app notifications" next to Invitations.

  • How do I make that iTunes and iOS devices update the name of the devices?

I have two new Apple Tv's, changed the names, but they all appear in Airplay option as "Apple TV", not the names I gave them. So, basically by try and error method I have to figure out which one I'm at.
    Anyone knows?
The names are changed, I turned them off, unplugged them, restarted iTunes, iOS Devices, and nothing... they appear all three as "Apple TV"
Hope you can help me out. Thanks for your time!

I have the same problem, and I'm browsing forums as we speak looking for answers.  The only thing I've read is that some people have restarted their routers to reset naming issues they are getting on their network.  I'm going to give this is a shot to see if it fixes the problem.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the remote app, and it didn't work either.

  • How to re-download the ringtone into iOS device without sync

    Dear Sir/Madam
I recently download the ringtone in itune store and I find out that only one of my iOS device can able to change into the tones I have download while the other one not. Is there anything I can do or any place I can check to enable the download ? Please help me out !!!
    Sincerly,
    Justin P.

Ringtones are a one-time only download from the store. You will need to connect the device that you downloaded it on to your computer's iTunes and do File > Devices > Transfer Purchases to copy it over to the Tones part of your computer's iTunes library and you can then sync it to your other device(s).
