How do I render a video transparent with AE?

Youtube videos show using flv but I do not see that option. I know how to use keylight to make the green screen transparent but can't seem to create the actual video that way.

It's actually called Toggle Transparency grid. It looks like a little checkerboard and it is just left of the Active Camera selector.
NO MEDIA PLAYER will give you a transparent background, it will always look black. A video with an alpha channel will only show up transparent if you bring it into an app that supports alpha channels like AE or Premiere Pro. You cannot have a transparent background in the QuickTime player or in the Windows Media Player. They do not support it.
Did you try the Lossless with Alpha preset? Did you read up on rendering? You cannot just poke around until you get it, you have to read up and understand what you are reading.
If you are trying to render an FLV file for flash then you must use CS6 or earlier. A better approach if you are headed for flash is to render a png sequence with transparency and load that into flash. No matter what you do, embedding a video in a flash file is going to take some bandwidth to play back and it's not going to be compatible with mobile devices. It would really help if we knew what you were trying to accomplish. I still have no idea what kind of product you are trying to get AE to deliver.

How to produce a HD video compatible with a Samsung Smart TV

Using Compressor I need to produce a HD video compatible with an Smart Samsung TV.

I did it with FCPX as mp4 without compressor. I put it on a USB key and it was possible to see it on my Samsung connecting the key to a USB port of the TV.
I have not the video with me now and cannot give you more info about the exact codec. For sure it was taken with an Olympus camera at 1080p and edited with european standards. The Samsung was bought in Germany.
Nothing to do with your question but only as a tip: Samsung TV has a proprietary Formatting for external HD to be used for recording. They have to be formatted by the TV and any video you record on this HD from the TV can be seen only with the same TV set. I found no way to edit or copy the recordings even to make a private backup.
For this reason I prefer to use an external receiver (Clarketech) to be free to edit the recordings.

How to create a multi video player with iMovie

Hey folks, I have a great wee QT player for my daughter's website which was generated for me by iMovie export. Lovely.
But- folk are wanting to see more videos of her singing.
Question- how to generate a multi-video player using the same principles (and same simple design)? One like those generated by YouTube's facility to create a list of videos to appear in a single player, or where it is possible to just click a "next" tab? Just to clarify- I am not wanting to use the YouTube player because it is a bit fussy and doesn't look right on the site in mind. The QT one has no borders etc and therefore suits me better. Besides- the 320 format is perfect.

How do I render DSLR video in preview in premier elements 12?

I have tried many things to get avc1 h.264 video to render in preview and play smooth, but nothing works.
the video was shot with a canon dslr eos 70d at 1920 X 1080 at 29.97 frames per second.

I have changed settings in file, new to dslr 1080 accordingly,but nothing changes.
How can I work with this video?

I check the specifications for the Canon 70D. I am 99.999% sure that you are shooting 1080p30.
So your project preset should be
NTSC
DSLR
1080p
DSLR 1080p30 or DSLR 1080p30 @29.97 (use the latter if you are sure about the 29.97 progressive frames per second).
Set the project preset manually before you import your video. To do that, File Menu/New/Project, set the project preset, exit the new project dialog after you put a check mark next to "Force Selected Project Setting on This Project". Then import your video and determine if there is no colored line, green line, or orange line over the Timeline content for that video. If the project preset is a match, we would expect to see "no colored line".
Specifically what is the video doing in the preview that is problematic.
I have something for you to try...right click the video on the Timeline (no color line)...select Time Stretch and set the Speed % to 99. You will then get an orange line over the video on the Timeline. Now render the Timeline content to turn the orange line to green. Is the playback of the video in the Edit mode monitor now better, the same, or worse?
Now, I want you to export that Timeline content to Publish+Share/Computer/AVCHD with preset = MP4 H.264 1920 x 1080 p30. What does the playback of that export look like in your computer player?

How can i get a video file with subtitle out of DVD Studio Pro?

i got a project for a dvd in dvd studio pro. There are subtitles which i created within dvd studio pro.
Now i want make a web version of the video with the subtitle, how can i get to this?

which should allow you to extract the subtitles from a copy of the
finished dvd and use them otherwise.

How to properly sync own video files with played / unplayed state?

Since iOS7 (I think) the Videos app on iOS is no longer showing the "unplayed" blue dot next to a movie files that I have added manually to iTunes.
In old iTunes versions, at least iTunes showed me inside the library view which movie files had been played with the blue dot.
Now with the Yosemite Upgrade and new iTunes, when I go to "Movies" (left hand side icon) then on the middle section on "Home Videos" then I get my old listing of video files, but there is no played/unplayed state icon. There is a column "Plays" and "Last Played", but those do not indicate if the video was watched fully or only just a second of it.
When going to my iPhone sync view however, the seen/unseed blue dots do show up. But in that view, I cannot delete video files. Usually I delete videos files after I watched them, and currently it is impossible for me to delete the video files, as I cannot see which ones are seen. Plus, on the iOS Video app in iOS 8.1, I still cannot see which videos were played - on top of that, when I delete a video file from there, and sync my iphone, it actually copies the video file to the iPhone again :-(
Any thoughts, apart from "Dude you have a wacked workflow"? ;-)

We are using SCCM for application deployment and patching. Is there a comparising model for AUSST vs. SCCM?

How can I burn a video shot with an iPhone 4 to a CD so a Windows user can watch it?

I shot a short video with my AT&T iPhone 4 and it's stored in iPhoto 9.1.5 on my iMac running OS X 10.6.8. You should be able to connect to their computer via your USB cable, copy the video over using Windows Explorer and the PC should be able to view it without any conversion.
When you do this, make sure they don't have iTunes set to automatically open and automatically sync when an iOS device is connected.

I havn't tried this but I would thinkg that this could work:
If you have a video object on your stage (the object that the video
actually plays in) you could probably make a button that simply
changes the dimensions of it such as:
setProperty("theVideoPlayer",_height, 240);
setProperty("theVideoPlayer",_width, 320);
The movie should adjust to fit the screen, however if you
make the movie larger than or a different aspect ratio than the
original, it will be blurred or distorted respectively. Make your
original movie, therefore, at the largest size you want it to be
seen. Keep the aspect ration the same always.

How do I replace one video file with another

I'm new to Imovie, so please bare over with me.
I made a long movie using a MOD format file from my JVC home camera
When I where to convert or burn the movie in Imovie it made an error.
After much trouble I found out that it was the MOD format that was the problem
So I bought an expensive piece of software that converted the MOD file to MOV:
And with a new test project it now works flawless...
Anyways back to the original project and the problem:
- I have now converted the original MOD file to MOV
- I have the original Imovie project with the MOD file.
How do I replace the mod file in the imovie project with the new mov file, while keeping, that is transfering all my work on the mod file over to the new mov file?

• move that Layer above the new Text Layer
• invoke Create Clipping Mask (command-alt-G) from Layers Panel’s fly-out menu or alt-click on the line separating the two Layers’ icons
