How do I reorder songs in a playlist in iTunes 12? I can't just click and drag.

I am working on a playlist in iTunes 12, I need the songs to be burned to a CD in a specific order.
I cannot figure out how to manually re-order my songs in this playlist.
I know how to order the songs by artist, album, genre etc but I need to be able to do it manually however I want the songs to play.
Any ideas?

Ricardo, It changed in iTunes 11.
With the playlist open, click on the View menu, View Options, and then set the "Sort By" field to "Manual Order." Then you can drag songs up or down.
If you don't see the View menu, you may have your Menu bar hidden. In that case, unhide it first, by using CTRL-B.

In Windows 7, iTunes 11, When you connect your device, and drag a file or multiple files to the right part of iTunes and a screen will appear with the playlist and the devices connected. Hope this will help you!

I've tried dragging songs around within a playlist to put them in an order that I prefer, but they wont move outside an order combination defined in "View Options". I've also tried turning off the shuffle option as suggested in a separate post, but this did not work.

OK, just click on the first unnamed column where it shows 1,2,3,etc.
Now you should be able to drag them around how you want.

You must surely be able to add and subtract songs on specific playlist?

I fixed this issue (with help from tech support) and it involved several things.
After adding a song to iTunes, right-click on the song in iTunes and select "Update iTunes Match."
OR go to the iTunes menu-->Store-->Update iTunes Match.
Maybe that's the reason, it just hadn't updated to the cloud.
OR maybe it's not a high-enough bitrate file. This happens to me because most of my tunes are home-recorded.
Sometimes converting to .mp3 or Create AAC version might work. (You do this with a right-click in iTunes, and then you will want to remove the original file from iTunes.)
There is an iTunes Preferences setting, under General Preferences called Import Settings. Try setting it to AAC Encoder and iTunes Plus. That (I think) causes imports to be slightly better quality.

I noticed this was missing too- I use some apps on my iPhone for running and when synced over bluetooth in my car, where the new "random button" and "up next" isn't a viable solution. Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing when trying to delete a song. The cloud icon to the right of the song indicates the song is being streamed from iTunes in the Cloud and not actually on your device. Because they are not on your device, they can't be deleted, but you can choose to hide these songs so that they don't appear on your iPhone.
You can hide the song by accessing the iTunes Store on the computer:
To hide your purchases
Open iTunes on your Mac or PC.
From the Store menu, choose Store > Sign In, and then enter your Apple ID and password.
Go to the iTunes Store.
Click Purchased from the Quick Links section on the right side of the iTunes Store.
Choose a content type by clicking on Music, TV Shows, Apps, or Books from top.
Hover your cursor over the item you want to hide.
You will see an "X" either to the right or left top corner of the item.
Click the "X" to hide that item. A confirmation dialog will appear once you click the "X."

Do you want this warning message back?
Then use the button "Reset all Dialog Warnings > Reset warnings" in the iTunes Preferences > Advanced panel.
This will reenable the dialog warnings.
