How do I repare HD for powerpc OS 10.4. Getting permission failure

I added a used HD and when booted lost my system. The main hard drive with the system installed has been working perfectly for over 5 years now. When I removed the additional hard drive and rebooted, the boot failed. Only gets to the blue screen. Disk Utility checked and volume and repair disk showed ok but would not run check permissions. Gets "disk utility internal error. Disk Utility lost its connection wtih the disk management tool and cannot continue". Erase the HD back to zeros and reinstalled OS 10.4 again but same problem. Ran a disk image and the OS 10.4 has been installed but still only boots to blue screen. How to fix?

The second drive was a used 40 gig Western Dig that I installed on same ribbon cable as the primary. I assumed it was a good drive. Jumper was set as slave. The primary is a 80 gig WD and still is set as cable select as was before the changes and was not removed or any changes made. I have another 40 gig that I purchased as a good drive and prefer to find an answer before I install it just in case I have a problem other than the primary drive and need another system hard drive. I appreciate any help you can give.

• How do you run apps for PowerPC G3 processors on a PowerBook G4?

Hi!
I'm new to the Apple community, and I'm trying to run the PPC compatible version of Wine on my PowerBook G4 (which can be found here), but when I open the .dmg and open the installer, it opens an error window saying "You can't open the application 'Install Wine' because it is not supported on this architecture."
Is this because the application is meant to run on computers with a PowerPC G3 processor and mine has a G4? How can I install it?
I have attached a screenshot of the error message.

I found this on the Wine WIKI.
http://wiki.winehq.org/MacOSX#head-4512daf5d3c971ad7caca22cf4d2cc0e0d65fc5e
PowerPC Mac
In 2002, the OpenDarwin people created the Darwine project to integrate the processor-emulator QEMU with a Mac OS-compatible version of Wine in order to run Win32 EXEs on PowerPC. The group succeeded in porting Wine from ELF to Mach-0. Integration of the x86 emulator was not worth the trouble of byteswapping (big endian <-> little endian), which was too much work.
Qemu-Darwin-user allows Mac OS X/Intel Applications to run on Mac OS X/PowerPC. It's conceptually similar to doing the opposite of Rosetta and was therefore referred to as "Attesor".
Older Macs using PowerPC processors are incompatible with code compiled for x86 (Intel and AMD) processors, unless the code is run under CPU emulation. Wine Is Not a (CPU) Emulator, nor does it include one.

I was told that if you signed up for the MORE - Cloud program you will get 50mg for Free? I didn't receive that. Anyone know how that works?

Hello skyles!
I have great news! If you have the More Everything plan, you get 25GBs of cloud storage. That's a bunch more room than 50MBs! Here's a link to check it out: http://vz.to/1eTSQHd

• How much time it takes for a job status to get updated in to TBTCO table?

Hi all,
We have a program that fetches the Job count and job name from a third party tool(UC4) and then searches for the status of the job in the TBTCO table.
In some rare cases we found that the TBTCO table had not updated with the Job details when the call was made to it.
Do we have any SAP scheduler settings which determines after a particular time the status gets refreshed in the TBTCO table once the job is triggered?

hi may be checking Sy-subrc and using wait for X seconds should be a convenient way to code.
I doubt if there is any schedule to update the table..

• How to turn off categorization for case management

Hopefully a simple one, how to turn off categorization for case management.
I get this error in CRM 5.0 when choosing Cases.
CASE_MANAGEMENT, CASE_TYPE, Z_01
My categorization in the IC profile is set to ZDEFAULT (copy of default) but only contains
IR Interaction Record
SO Service Order
ST Service Ticket
Does not have the CA case entry that is in DEFAULT.
Z_01 is my case type but I see no place to set the categorization.
I think I am missing something easy but don't see it.

I'm guessing zdefault had same description default and it was picking up the default one in error.

how can i cross compile it for Powerpc using linux-i686 machine, and use for embedded application
thanks in advance
Syed.M.A

Hello Syed MA,
if you are looking for a CDC compliant Java Virtual Machine, IBM have written one that works on Linux on PowerPC (and on other processors too).
Have a look at http://www-3.ibm.com/software/wireless/wme/
It supports CDC and the Foundation Profile. I beleive that buying this rather than building your own is probably better in the long run as the IBM one has been certified as CDC compliant (passed the TCK tests).
Running your own Technology Compatability Kit tests (TCK) is very expensive.
I think the IBM virtual machine costs about €6.00 per unit to deploy but is free for developers.
Give me a shout if you need any more advice.
Matt :)

• Can any one tell me how to install flash player on powerbookg4.i actully uninstall it to upgrade it but now i can not install new one.it always says get flash player for powerpc when i try to install it after downloading.it is 10.5.8 version

can any one tell me how to install flash player on powerbookg4.i actully uninstall it to upgrade it but now i can not install new one.it always says get flash player for powerpc when i try to install it after downloading.it is 10.5.8 version

Flash Player version 10.1.102.64 is the last version available to PPC Mac users. However, this Flash version won't work for many videos on Facebook, YouTube and other sites. Adobe's latest version, 10.2.x or later, is only for Intel Macs. Adobe will not provide a newer Flash version for PPC Macs.
The message requesting that you download Adobe Flash Player takes you to Flash Player requiring an Intel processor. Doesn't work on a PowerPC processor. I found a hack, installed it & it works with Firefox, TenFourFox & Safari.
Download this http://www.steelbin.com/FPforFBPPC.zip to your desktop, unzip it, and replace the current Flash Player plug-in which is in your main/Library/Internet Plug-Ins folder, (not the user Library). Save the old one just in case this one doesn't work.

• How to set Compatibility Mode for a single site in ie10

This question was originally posted on the Answers forum -
http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/ie/forum/ie10-windows_7/how-to-set-compatibility-mode-for-a-single-site-in/187152e3-142a-4d96-8d1b-af82ef571eec
I am having problem with getting ie10 to set ie9 compatibility for a single site (sharepoint.contoso.com).
When I add this website in Compatibility View Settings (Alt > Tools > Compatibility View Settings > 'Add this Website') it adds the domain 'contoso.com' and not the individual website (sharepoint.contoso.com).
This cause other sites (www.contoso.com) to be configured to use compatibility mode. Because this is a separate site (different web server) to the site sharepoint.contoso.com (sharepoint 2010 server) we need different compatibility settings.
Using a different example to explain the issue -
Microsoft has three websites that are different websites created by different developers written in different programming languages and they only work with certain browsers.
microsoft.com (Website1 created by Developer1) - compatible with ie8/ie9/ie10
msdn.microsoft.com (Website2 created by Developer2) - compatible with ie8/ie9
technet.microsoft.com (Website3 website created by Developer3) - compatible only with ie10
The only thing the three website share is the URL contains 'microsoft.com'.
Marking 'msdn.microsoft.com' to run in compatibility mode affects the other 2 websites - mainly technet.microsoft.com which will not work now since it only runs in pure ie10 mode.
Should you be able to add an individual site to the compatibility list instead of all sites that have .microsoft.com in the URL? Am I missing a simple setting in the ie10?
As a workaround I am using the F12 Developer Tools to set the Browser Mode which temporary sets the compatibility mode. However this is not a nice solution to the end users at our organisation.

problem is not solved for non corporate environments...
You could start your own thread. Then if you got that answer and it was marked Answered you would have the ability to unmark it. The OP of this one seems satisfied. Also note that this is TechNet. Consumers can get help on Answers
forums.
Robert Aldwinckle
Oh! I wrote it wrong: I should have said: This is not solved for NON-AD environments. No demands what so ever to use Window 7/8 professional in a small corporation or on a big corporation with Island of smaller departments for example offshore.
The problem is that the thread is not "Answered" by the OP, its is marked answered by a moderator (and same moderator that did the answer) so no way of telling if the OP is satisfied.
But you are right in the fact that I am almost kidnapping the thread. But a complete answer would benefit all in this case I would presume.

• How can I repeat a for loop, once it's terms has been fulfilled???

Well.. I've posted 2 different exceptions about this game today, but I managed to fix them all by myself, but now I'm facing another problem, which is NOT an error, but just a regular question.. HOW CAN I REPEAT A FOR LOOP ONCE IT HAS FULFILLED IT'S TERMS OF RUNNING?!
I've been trying many different things, AND, the 'continue' statement too, and I honestly think that what it takes IS a continue statement, BUT I don't know how to use it so that it does what I want it too.. -.-'
Anyway.. Enought chit-chat. I have a nice functional game running that maximum allows 3 apples in the air in the same time.. But now my question is: How can I make it create 3 more appels once the 3 first onces has either been catched or fallen out the screen..?
Here's my COMPLETE sourcecode, so if you know just a little bit of Java you should be able to figure it out, and hopefully you'll be able to tell me what to do now, to make it repeat my for loop:

• How do I install Elements for Windows 7 PC with 64 bit? Get error message - file archive part missing

We purchased Elements 12 and Premiere Elements 12 on September 7, 2014 and have tried a variety of things including searching through FAQs on the Adobe site, etc. etc. and cannot get our downloads to work. We are avid computer users and have never had problems downloading software before.
From our account under "orders" - I have tried clicking on the Akamai download manager and the Alternate Download Method on for each application with the same results.
We have a Windows 7 PC with a 64 bit operating system and Internet Explorer 11.
On all attempts we get an Adobe screen with 2 links – 1 for a file ending in .7z and a 2nd file ending in .exe.
I click on the first file and confirm the download completes at 100% (not paused, etc.) and is in the downloads folder for my user name on the PC.
I click on the 2nd link for .exe and I receive the error message below – 2nd screen shot – “file archive is missing” all folders/files must be in same folder.
So I see it’s a winzip file (as a winzip pop up folder had come up also) so I download the free version and unzip the files in the same downloads folder under my user name to try that.
I click on .exe file link again and same message. I tried copying the files directly to the downloads folder (as they all unzipped into a subfolder called PSE 12 and tried clicking on .exe again but get the same message.
For Premiere I tried the same and got same results on the 64 bit version download.
I do not know how to access the software we purchased.
Any help or advice is appreciated.
Also - if anyone knows how I can contact Adobe for a full refund so I can just buy the boxed software instead - that would be helpful as well as that is not easy to find online either.
Thanks!
Ariel

I get an error message saying that the quicktime installer will only work on 32 bit
The QuickTime player works on 64-bit systems. (It's a 32-bit application, but it should run fine using the standard 32-bit-on-64-bit Windows-on-Windows emulation.)
What's the precise text of your installation error message, dc? (There one or two different ones I can think of that might mention 32-bit)
