How do I replace a defective font in CC?

Both Photoshop and Premiere Pro report Trajan Pro and Trajan Pro Bold as defective. I need to find a way to reload them (all other fonts appear okay). Any clue where to go for this?
Thanks,
Jay

That might work...but just last night I tried to use Application Manager to update a slew of programs, and it wouldn't update Photoshop, saying there was something defective about the original installation (Photoshop ran just fine but that doesn't mean its installation is 100%, I guess). The fix was to uninstall Photoshop and reinstall.
I'll be commenting on this in another message in a minute...but I did all that. And for the second time I get the following messages:
ERROR: DF045: File corruption detected. Re-install the product & then apply the patch again. (Can not repair file "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6\boost_threads.dll")(Seq 15)
ERROR: DF045: File corruption detected. Re-install the product & then apply the patch again. (Can not repair file "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6 (64 Bit)\Plugin.dll")(Seq 14)
ERROR: DF045: File corruption detected. Re-install the product & then apply the patch again. (Can not repair file "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6\patcher_trigger\patchTrigger")(Seq 5)
I don't know yet if the fix, when finally applied, will fix the issue with Trajan Pro/Trajan Pro Bold. But short of removing and re-installing the ENTIRE CC INSTALL (which would be a day's work) I'm not sure how to apply your proposed fix. Undoubtedly if I were to install Photoshop by itself these fonts would come in. I don't know what element of CC (currently still CS6 but through CC which I've joined since November) would trigger re-install of two corrupt fonts. Looking at the names of the three corrupt DLLs here I can't imagine any of them carrying fonts with them, so a complete uninstall and re-install of Photoshop didn't re-install the defective fonts.
I guess it will be a call to Tech Support on Monday morning. Any other thoughts? I thank you for your effort in answering, but "reinstall whatever program" doesn't seem to be a solution in this instance.

  • How can i replace user fonts folder with back-up?

I want to replace my user>library>fonts folder (which has somehow become corrupted and is incomplete) with a sound copy from a backup disk. When I try to do this, a dialogue box tells me that the "Fonts can't be modified or deleted because it is required by Mac OSX".
How can I put the backup fonts folder in position?

The OS is not 'complaining' about required fonts, nor am I trying to delete any fonts from my User folder.
I added about 6 fonts yesterday, validating each one before install > User folder. All were approved and worked fine. When I checked later in the day, I discovered increasing numbers of duplicates being reported in Font Book. I resolved the duplicates.
But the existing User fonts folder looks very different now to the original (as it exists on the backup) - that big difference is MB is puzzling, given a similar number of fonts.
My intention had been to copy the back up folder across so as to revert to the pre-extra fonts installed state. Anyone able to advise on how I can be sure that all is still OK?

  • How to replace missing Keynote Font

I just switched from MS powerpoint to Keynote. I could not be happier, well I could but I am happy
The problem I have is that I ahve a good number of older presentations that I am working on that having missing fonts. I know how to add fonts to font book but I just want to replace hte missing fonts in keynote.
So I select each text box and set font to arial, close reopen same missing font. I try applying master to slide close reopen same missing font. I cannot seem to find where hte missing font is actually used. Anyone have any ideas?

I am also having the same problem, but with Keynote presentations made on a G4 Lap Top which now have "missing" fonts (Arial is the most bothersome) when I open them on a MacBook Pro (same version of Keynote on both).
If I attempt to replace the font Keynote has substituted for Arial with Arial (yes, Arial still appears in the list of fonts) and save the presentation, when I reopen it, the Arial is missing again!
Looking around on the internet I saw some indications that the problem may stem from the font name having been changed from ArialMS to ArialMT, but there was no solution suggested.

  • How can I exchange a defective Verizon certified pre-owned phone?

In fairness to my fellow consumers, I'm compelled to share my experience so they can determine for themselves whether a certified pre-owned phone from Verizon is a good purchase. In my experience so far, it is not.  I'm hoping that my situation can be resolved amicably, but I'm losing hope.
I purchased my certified pre-owned phone directly from VerizonWireless in July. In August, I determined the phone was defective. I called Verizon's technical support, and they confirmed the phone was defective, and that it would be an easy thing to fix. I could simply go to a Verizon store directly, and they would repair or replace the phone.
But this was not the case. The Verizon Wireless stores are actually franchises. My local stores, and a VerizonWireless customer service representative got in touch with all of them, will not exchange a device unless the parent company sends them a new phone first, because otherwise they'd have to absorb the cost. The customer service line refused to send a new phone, arguing it was the local franchisee who should pay to replace the phone.
In short, after six hours of phone calls, Naomi from Customer Care promised to give me a full refund and a free months service because I had been treated so poorly, and that this refund would take three to five business days to effectuate. Six business days later, I still had no refund. I called again, and over another four hours of calls, I learned that Naomi never submitted the paperwork in the first place, and that I was no further than I was before.
In short, Verizon promised to replace any defective pre-owned phones that they sold within 90 days of purchase. I purchased my phone 30 days ago and it is defective, but Verizon has in effect refused to honor the warranty. Their internal processes are so confused that, although they agree there is a warranty, they cannot agree on who internally is obligated to honor it.
I really hope this situation can be resolved amicably. I would love to discuss this further with a Verizon Wireless supervisor or customer care manager privately if possible. I want this be resolved quickly and easily.
I will report back later to let everyone know how my case has been resolved.

    Hi Sherita,
I sincerely hope that is true. As I've said before, it seems like it should be a very simple transaction--there's no external damage or water damage whatsover. The problem is that the GPS simply doesn't work, and it doesn't lock on to cell towers properly. I couldn't cause that kind of malfunction if I tried, and tech support has already identified those problems to be a manufacturing defects. The only question is what will Verizon do about it.
I have a 90 day warranty. It's printed on the box, and is stipulated on Verizon's website. But as I mentioned before there seems to be internal confusion as to what that process looks like exactly for a certified pre-owned phone. So far, after 12+ hours of phone calls, no individual team or department within Verizon claims it has the authority to effect a return for these phones.
I would love nothing more to report success. But so far, I've been working with Verizon support for two weeks, and am no further than when I started. I messaged Trevor immediately, but haven't heard back from him yet (but that may be because of labor day weekend.)
Please, please, please - just tell me what I have to do or what I have to show in order to get Verizon to replace the defective phone it sold me. I'm at a loss as to what I should do next.

  • How to search for where a font is used?

I'm using FrameMaker 12 and receiving prompts that a font is not available and being replaced by another font. How can I find the instances of where this is occuring so that I can correct the problem?

It could be in a graphic imported by reference (usually EPS or maybe even SVG). FM can't touch that.
If you really want to track this down, create a MIF of an errant file and use a text editor to see which objects use the Helvetica font.

  • Replacing a System Font

    Hello,
We've been having some font issues and I think I'm close to clearing them up but have a question. We use FontAgent Pro and in that, we have a Helvetica font and a Helvetica Neue font. Both of which are also System fonts. I did the Restore Standard Fonts in Font Book. I've noticed that the System font versions of those fonts actually have less fonts in them than the versions in FontAgent Pro. (i.e. condensed black oblique, the whole thin family, etc...) So my question is can I replace the System Font versions with my FontAgent versions and if so, how do I do it without screwing up the system.
    Thanks in advance,
    Randy

So you've got full Type 1 PostScript sets you'd prefer to use all the time. There are some problems with this, but not impossible to deal with.
You may find the information in my article Font Management in OS X useful. In the section on minimum required fonts for the various versions of OS X, I have this information on Lion, which also applies to 10.8 and 10.9.
Previously, you could remove Apple's Helvetica fonts and permanently use Type 1 PostScript versions in their place. Not any more. Address Book is one app which will not launch if Apple's version of Helvetica is missing. So for prepress, designers or others who must use Type 1 PostScript versions of Helvetica or Helvetica Neue, it is now a requirement to copy Apple's Helvetica fonts to a non Fonts folder location, remove them from the System and ProtectedFonts folders, and then set up separate sets in your font manager for Apple's Helvetica fonts, and another for your third party Helvetica fonts. Then turn on whichever set you need at the time and turn the other set off. It's not perfect as you may need the the Type 1 fonts open, which will leave you temporarily unable to open Address Book until you disable the Type 1 fonts and turn the Apple supplied versions back on. There is no way around it. You simply can't have both on at the same time.
Instructions for copying, and then removing the Apple supplied versions of Helvetica are noted in section 5. That's pretty much what you'll have to do in order to have access to your full set of T1 PS fonts.
I may receive some form of compensation, financial or otherwise, from my recommendation or link.

  • How do I use Edge Web Fonts with Muse?

How do I use Edge Web Fonts with Muse - is it an update to load, a stand alone, how does it interface with Muse? I've updated to CC but have no info on this.

    Hello,
Is there a reason why you want to use Edge Web Fonts with Adobe Muse?
Assuming you wish to improve typography of your web pages, you should know that Muse is fully integrated with Typekit. This allows you to access and apply over 500 web fonts from within Muse. Here's how you do it:
Select a text component within Muse, and click the Text drop-down.
Select Add Web Fonts option, to pop-open the Add Web Fonts dialog.
Browse and apply fonts per your design needs.
Muse also allows you to create paragraph styles that you can save and apply to chunks of text, a la InDesign. Watch this video for more information: http://tv.adobe.com/watch/muse-feature-tour/using-typekit-with-adobe-muse/
Also take a look at these help files to see if they help you:

    http://helpx.adobe.com/muse/tutorials/typography-muse-part-2.html

    Hope this helps!

  • How do I use the Japanese fonts in Font Book in a Pages document?

How does one use the Japanese fonts in Font Book in a Pages document. Pages has its own fonts but I cannot get the Japanese fonts into it.

To type japanese on a computer you change the keyboard, not the font.  Go to system prefs/keyboard/input sources and add Japanese/Kotoeri to the list, then select Hiragana in the "flag" menu at the top right of the screen, then type.  The font will take care of itself.

  • How do you use edge web font in Edge Reflow?

By default, I don't have a lot of fonts. It's just viewing a few of them.
How can you get the web font for Edge Reflow? Can you use font from fontbook?
Is there a way to download Edge Web Font?

Above: using Brandon Grotesque (web use font) does not display the correct font.
I'm using Typekit and have an internet connection. If I switch to a "desktop use" font, it shows up, so I'm guessing the "web use" only fonts won't show in Reflow. A little frustrating when you're trying to get an accurate preview/determine best font styling because of the back-and-forth workflow.
Above: using Source Sans Pro (desktop use font) does display the correct font.

How do I include 'Edge Web Fonts' (not Google Web Fonts) into Edge Animate?

Have you tried to use google fonts? I have used them and they work for me.
When you add your font for example:
    Copy paste:
    <link href='http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Finger+Paint' rel='stylesheet' type='text/css'>
    and then for font family.
    'Finger Paint', cursive;
then select addfont on the addfont screen

How do I replace someone else's Mac ID with my own?
Bought iPhone second hand on TradeMe.
Previous owner re-set the phone but his ICloud account stayed on now my phone. He uses his AppleID on his new iPhone now and, understandably, does not want to give me his password. Any ideas?? Please.
This issue is blocking my access to iTunes and any other file from my home computer. It keeps on telling me that I have to autorise my computer to pass on files, yet, it seems, for all this to happen, I need to get logged in through the phone's Apple ID. This of course is different to my one on my computer - and I have no password for it.
This phone is not stolen!! I payed still a fair bit for it. Am still in contact with the previous owner. He doesn't know how to fix the problem either.
    Would appreciate any suggestion ????
    Thanks
    SamSings

    Settings>general>resets>erase all content and settings.
That will put it back to its out of the box state. Set it up with your own apple Id.

  • How do I include a dreamweaver font into a Web site?

    Hello,
I have chosen the font-family 'Stencil' within Dreamweaver whilst building a Web site.
How can I ensure that this font-family is uploaded to the actual Web site so that the text which I want to display in that font is available to all browsers out there?    From forums I have read it looks like it will do it anyways but it does not seem to be working.  Help!
    Thank you!
    Michael

    Hi Ken,
Thank you very much, I really appreciate your reply!
To be honest, I found those stencil fonts earlier, but thank you for pointing them out to me as I only just discovered them  :-)
In this particular instance I need a bit of a variation on this stencil font.   I have taken a screen shot of the site CodeBlueRecruitment.com.au as I see it on my computer, so was hoping to get that version of stencil out of Dreamweaver CS5.5 and onto the live site so that it can be accessed via everyone as you are right it wouldn't be on many visitor's devices I would agree.
I would be thrilled with any advice on that one :-)   I have been reading a lot of forums but can't seem to hit the nail on the head.
    Thanks again.
    Best regards,
    Michael
