How do I replace former owner's name in all iMac directories?

How do I replace former owner's name in all iMac directories?
Including network setup and Office file management. I have already renamed the computer and deleted former owner when and where possible.
(I also have an iPad and hope I was directed to the approtriate community)

Two hours ago I bought Applecare and two supprt staff (One very senior) have taken control of my Mac and solved the problem. If it took them two hours I would not live long enough to solve it. I must have typed in my password 30+ times!

  • How do I change the owner's name for all Apple/iTunes/iCloud applications?

The name for my iPhone device and all Apple related things I log into, the owner name is my father's name -- however, since it is my device and my phone and I use all relating applications, I would like for it to be underneath my name. How do I change the overall name for my entire Apple account?

Go to system preferences and the sharing tab, then change the "computer name".
That's not a problem for anything.
If you had links from the other computer in the name.local format, you'll just need to update them.

You can log out of the old own's account by tapping on the id in Settings > Store, and then do Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content And Settings to remove all content from it and put the iPad back to factory defaults

  • How can I get IP and hots names of all the machines.....

If you know atleast a part of this please help me.

You coulduse the broadcast address (x.x.x.255) in an ICMP sweep to determine which hosts are alive (and accepting ICMP).
But no, there's not a single (and definitive / sure) way to retrieve all IP addresses.

  • HOW DO I CHANGE THE OWNER'S NAME ON MY MACS?

After migrating a MacBook Pro system to a Mac Pro, I´ve the same name on both computers. That´s a problems for Mobile Me, sharing, etc. Is it possible to change both (I need just one, but I want to change both) computer´s names?
    MacBookPro_X
    MacPro_Y
What are the implications of that change (if possible) for Mobile Me, Sharing, Printers, Scanner, External HDD, Applications, etc. Do I need to operate other changes in order to prevent problems?
    Thanks very much.

  • How to create a form that can auto-populate all fields based on a specific selection?

We have created a template for each type of package used in our business.  The template is the same but depending on the package selected, the fields would be populated differently.  How can we create a template to load the fields based on the specific package selected?  We use Adobe Acrobat Pro in creating the templates.

This forum is for the Adobe FormsCentral (http://formscentral.adobe.com) which is a service that allows you to create, collect and analyze data using an online web form. You should ask Acrobat/PDF related form questions in the Acrobat forums:http://forums.adobe.com/community/acrobat/acrobat_windows
I'll move your post to that forum so you don't need to retype it. They can help you out...

  • How to delete a previous owner's details from an iMac?

    Hi All,
I have bought an 21" iMac (approx 2011) from my Mum (which orginally had Snow leopard on, I think, with free upgrade offer to Lion) and wish to delete all of her details from it.
I have tried the 'root' user method.  I think I did it properly using theh instructions from this community.  I have tried the 'clean' install method which just put me back to where I was....exactly back so I'm assuming it is a clone method.
At a lose end now.  App Store updates keep asking me to sign in with her account, the mouse and keyboard are listed as hers.
    Currently 10.8.2 OS.
    Thanks in advance.

    That was quick!  Thanks all,
However, I have tried inserting the disk and it has a 'no entry' sign across it and I can't click it, obviously.  I also have a MBP which I purchase dML for so this should  'pop' up when I log in to iTunes, surely?
I'm pretty stuck so step-by-step would be helpful of best course of action.

I bought a Used iPad. How I can sign in in Apple. always the user name of the former owner appears

Go to Settings>Store>Apple ID - tap the ID that is showing and sign out. Sign in with your own ID.
Why the previous owner did not remove his information is a mystery.

  • My iphone4 had a previous owner, how do I get my apple i.d. to show up? I've been trying to download apps, but the former owners name keeps coming up.

While trying to download free apps, the former owners' apple i.d keeps showing up.  I've followed the instructions to create my own apple i.d.-it's in the phone, but it seems that it's not recognized when trying to download. Do I need to clean out everything from the phone and start from scratch??  Thanks...

Yes, you'll need to set up an iTunes library and account, then restore the iPhone from that library. That will erase the iPhone and associate it with your account exclusively.

  • How do I find out a former owners password?

How do I get a former owners password to install software?

I booted my Tiger 10.4.11 in single user mode via holding down the command + s when powering on.
    /sbin/fsck -fy
    /sbin/mount -uw /
    passwd user-name
    # returned without asking for new password.
    # ( did not work )
    # ->Start up some utility processes that are needed.
    sh /etc/rc
    passwd user-name
    # asked for new password.
    # (worked).
So, the working of passwd has changed over time.

I bought a used macbook pro from a friend. Software updates are available, but when I try to update, the computer asks for apple id and will only accept the former owner´s. How can I connect my macbook to my apple id?

The first thing you should do after acquiring a used computer is to erase the internal drive and install a clean copy of OS X. How you do that depends on the model. Look it up on this page to see what version was originally installed.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.4 or 10.5, you need a boxed and shrink-wrapped retail Snow Leopard installation disc, which you can get from the Apple Store or a reputable reseller — not from eBay or anything of the kind.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.6, you need the gray installation discs that came with it. If you don't have the discs, order replacements from Apple. A retail disc, or the gray discs from another model, will not work.
To boot from an optical disc, insert it, then reboot and hold down the C key at the startup chime. Release the key when you see the gray Apple logo on the screen.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.7 or later, it should boot into Internet Recovery mode when you hold down the key combination option-command-R at the startup chime. Release the keys when you see a spinning globe.
Once booted from the disc or in Internet Recovery, launch Disk Utility and select the icon of the internal drive — not any of the volume icons nested beneath it. In the Partition tab, select the default options: a GUID partition table with one data volume in Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format. This operation will permanently remove all existing data on the drive, which is what you should do.
After partitioning, quit Disk Utility and run the OS X Installer. When the installation is done, the system will automatically reboot into the Setup Assistant, which will prompt you to transfer the data from another Mac, its backups, or from a Windows computer. If you have any data to transfer, this is usually the best time to do it.
You should then run Software Update and install all available system updates from Apple. If you want to upgrade to a major version of OS X newer than 10.6, buy it from the Mac App Store. Note that you can't keep an upgraded version that was installed by the previous owner. He or she can't legally transfer it to you, and without the Apple ID you won't be able to update it in Software Update or reinstall, if that becomes necessary. The same goes for any App Store products that the previous owner installed — you have to repurchase them.

  • How do I replace someone else's Mac ID with my own? Bought iPhone second hand. Previous owner re-set the phone but his ICloud account stayed on now my phone. He uses his macID on his new iPhone now?? Any ideas, as this issue is blocking my access to iTune

How do I replace someone else's Mac ID with my own?
Bought iPhone second hand on TradeMe.
Previous owner re-set the phone but his ICloud account stayed on now my phone. He uses his AppleID on his new iPhone now and, understandably, does not want to give me his password. Any ideas?? Please.
This issue is blocking my access to iTunes and any other file from my home computer. It keeps on telling me that I have to autorise my computer to pass on files, yet, it seems, for all this to happen, I need to get logged in through the phone's Apple ID. This of course is different to my one on my computer - and I have no password for it.
This phone is not stolen!! I payed still a fair bit for it. Am still in contact with the previous owner. He doesn't know how to fix the problem either.
    Would appreciate any suggestion ????
    Thanks
    SamSings

    Settings>general>resets>erase all content and settings.
That will put it back to its out of the box state. Set it up with your own apple Id.

You can probably change the ID in the "iTunes and App stores" settings on the iPad....click on the wrong account ID , select sign out, then log in with your own ID, I have not done this but I think it works.....
but I would be more inclined to to the factory reset and start afresh.
