How do i report fake apple email

I keep receiving fake billing requests from apple. I check my account online without using the email, and it is OK. How do I report this to Apple? I cannot find an apple email address to report it to. Thanks.

The emails appear to be coming from [email protected] which appears legitimate. It includes the large .mac logo. The words: "After a few clicks, just verify the information you entered is correct." seem to me to give it away, as well as the fact that it is NOT my .mac email id -- it's an alias email.
There are also 84 other .mac addresses in the address line. I just thought Apple might like to know that someone is trying to get account information, and I wanted to forward it to them.

You will need to find a third party solution for online storage in order to share things like photos with others. Some popular solutions to this are dropbox and sugarsync.
You cannot sync non-iCloud email accounts across your iOS devices and computers unless they are IMAP accounts like iCloud. If they are IMAP accounts, you will do it in the same way as you have always done.

You can create a new account, but any content that you downloaded with your existing account will remain tied to that account - so only that account will be able to authorise its content on a new computer, potentially redownload it, and download updates to its apps.

I just switched to iCloud last night and now I can access my mail only through the iCloud web interface. Mac Mail will not work with my .mac email account. But it still works for my other non-Apple addresses.

  • Fake apple emails requesting verification

I have received an email purporting to be from apple, informing me that my billing address had been changed, that my appleID was being frozen unless I confirmed my authenticity and they included the link below, which at first was an address ending in 'au' and suddenly changed to the one I'm pasting below:
    http://appie-login.appie-ld.co.uk.support.reply.location-24.lyliangame.com/scgi- bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/wa/directToSignInlocalang=en_us/uk/
I think this is fake.  Is it possible to check whether it is so or not because the email was a typical apple email but something did not sound right.
    Many thanks

You can tell it's a fake because the link goes to "lyliangame.com". Apple would use no domain other than their own, even if they sent such an email, something which they never would. You can learn how to identify future phishing messages here:

  • How do I change my apple email address to my new email addres

Help how do I change my email address on my apple id

First, I did not see "Manage Account" so I used the "Manage ID" feature. I changed my Apple Email address and changed it's password. I receive a message that verified these changes. I then exited "Manage ID". To Test the new ID and Passwod, I returned to "Manage ID". As soon as Manage ID hit the screen, I saw my new email address briefly, and it was then changed to my old email address.
That is the crux of my problem: Apple uses my old ID as the default and in other areas like iCloud where I need to enter ID and PW, they give me the old ID as the defaul and they don't provide a way to change the id, only the pw.
I suspect I'm doing something wrong, but I need to have the old email address (ID) permanently removed. It's security has been compromised.
I appreciate any help you can provide.

  • How do I report fake apps?

Back in February, I bought an app called Network Doctor, which has an utterly ridiculous user interface and totally fake features. Apple refunded me upon my request, but didn't do anything to the fake app's developer, GoodCode. Yesterday when I checked out the App Store, I was shocked to see that “Cellphone Optimization Master”, another fake app from GoodCode, was ranked the No. 10 top-selling app here in China.
Now if you look up this app on the US App Store, where it's called iDevice Info - System Activity Monitor, you'd think it's legit, albeit overpriced. On the app's Chinese Store page, GoodCode claims it can: free system memory (which Apple banned in 2009), clean hard drive cache, monitor network activities and block malware, sweep system junk and speed up your iPhone.
My knowledge of the iOS tells me this is complete ********. GoodCode managed to pull this off because they knew the app review team only examines English submissions.
So how do I get Apple's attention? I described all this in details in my refund request, but I don't think Apple's support person read it at all...

I've done this already. I was hoping there was a less well known contact form or an email address of a human that would actually reply. Apple used to be so good at support...
On that note I've also used this contact form:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html
to no avail. Anyone have any experience escalating this type of issue so that someone will actually hear it and act on it?

  • HT4865 how can i report a phishing email with an icloud address?

I got an email purporting to be from Apple requesting my email user name and password for my iCloud account.  The return address is an iCloud.com address.  Obviously, I know it was a phishing email, but is there some way to forward it to Apple so they can see if it actually did  originate from an iCloud address?

    Hi Gail,
I’m answering your question because I’ve received so many spoof/spam messages lately to my email address(es) at me.com. I decided to find out how to report them.
    Here’s what I found out:
    Suspicious email messages can be forwarded to one of the following;
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
Make sure to include the long header.
Long headers can be displayed using the menubar (see below)
Then either copy & paste the long header or simply forward the entire message.
Example of long header from a suspicious email:

  • Poss. bug in Voice Memos tool -- how do you report to Apple?

    Hello all,
I suspect that I have found a bug in the Voice Memos tool that comes with iPhone. Does anyone know how to report this to Apple? I'm not a developer, so I can't go through the Apple Developer Connection, and the www.cqf.apple.com URL that they want non-developers to use doesn't work.
The problem seems to occur when I have been recording a long, one-hour lecture, and accidentally tap the pause button instead of stop. If I then tap the record button to get the stop button to display again and then tap the stop button as soon as it redisplays, the resulting file does not work. I'm unable to sync it down to my computer, and it won't play back in Voice Memos, even though it shows the recording length (hour, minutes, seconds) for the listed file. If I tap play in Voice Memos, it simply doesn't play; the playback bar shows it as being zero minutes. I'm also unable to trim the recording.
This has happened twice in the past ten days since I started using the tool, and I suspect that the actions of tapping pause, then play, then stop is occurring too quickly, even though these buttons are available. Perhaps with a large file like this (one-hour recordings are about 10 MB), one needs to allow the tool to get the file back into "record" mode after tapping play, but before tapping stop. Unfortunately, with the stop button available right away, it's very easy to tap it before the tool may be ready for you to stop the recording. I hope this makes sense.
I'd like Apple to look into this and perhaps consider making the stop button unavailable until the file is truly ready to be stopped. Does anyone know how to report this to them? They seem to make it so difficult.... Of course, if anyone has any thoughts on this or has had the problem too (surely I'm not crazy?), I appreciate knowing more, although I doubt there's anything I can do to fix the problem, except to avoid tapping the pause button in the first place, and if I do, go slowly and allow the tool to actually continue recording before tapping stop.
    Thanks!
    Elesar

  • How can I delete my Apple email account

    Hello -
when Apple made the move from MobileMe to iCloud (and stopped offering web hosting) a couple of years ago I decided that wasn't for me and switched back to a PC. Never looked back. However, it seems my old .Mac email account is still active and people keep sending emails to it which I can't access. How can I deactivate this account?
    thanks
    Robert

Thanks randers4, for your swift reply. It helps me in the sense that I will not spend much more time trying to deactivate the account. Forwarding from iCloud is not an option as I didn't sign up to iCloud. Well, I couldn't at the time without having to buy a newer machine with stronger processor and newer OS, so I decided to phase out Apple. I still have the old MacBook from 2007 and use it for music and photos. All my professional use however happens on a brand new and powerful HP. But it nags me that I can't get rid of the old account ...
    cheers, Robert

  • How do I know if Apple emails are real

II'm constantly getting emails from Apple telling me my account has expired, I need to update my iTunes account, my account will be suspended if I don't update deta, etc. how do I know if this it's real? It's been going on for years and I've always ignored it without anything happening to my account (I can still purchase apps, movies and music) but seeing as i get an email at least once a week I'm really sick of it and want it to stop.
Any ideas? I don't open the emails or click on links which is why I think I've been fine.

It is a phishing attempt. Do not respond. Do not divulge any personal or financial information. You can use the address below to forward the suspect email message to Apple.
