How do I reset Apple Mail to factory settings? I had 7 emails accounts on there and was about to add my school email address. It wasn't going through though, so I went to the school's IT department to ask them to do it. Unfortunately, the IT guy couldn't fix the school email and worse, now ALL my emails accounts won't go online. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It won’t solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of this test is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account. Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault in OS X 10.7 or later, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The "Guest User" login created by "Find My Mac" is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.

Read the HT5312 page that you posted from, it has instructions for how to reset them i.e. if you have a rescue email address set up on your account then steps 1 to 5 half-way down that page should give you a reset link.
If you don't have a rescue email address then you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple in your country to get the questions reset.

How do I reset QuickTime as my media default player?

Hi,
I just installed RealPlayer 10, which I only use for watching BBC News clips.
Unfortunately, it has set itself up as my default player. How do I reset QuickTime as my default player?
I've already been into Real Player preferences and deselected the media types I DO NOT want it to play as default, but it persists in playing them as default anyway!!!
And I've tried uninstalling it and re-downloading it, but each time it just defaults to my default player!
If there is any other way to view BBC News clips on the BBC website, other than using Real Player (or, super worst case scenario) Windows Media Player, please let me know.
If not, how do I get QuickTime to be my default player whilst having RealPlayer for ONLY what I want!!!!!!?

You did not provide a link to the specific BBC page. So I went over to http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/videoandaudio/default.stm & noted that you have a choice of players---WMP or RP.
Since you do not want to use RP any longer, your only other alternative would be to use Flip4Mac if the page you were on gave you the same options.

Fantastic,all works as it should.
If any other users out there experience "slow" audio or the audio lagging behind the video when importing HD (Sony) tapes into iMovie,try Beverley's tip.It worked for me.
