How do I reset Cursor not Hand tool on Adobe X on mac with mavericks?

Adobe just started defaulting to hand tool in Adobe X on mac with mavericks. How do I get my cursor back??

Acrobat / Reader opens with whatever tool that was selected when it was last closed.
Try the following step and let me know if it worked for you :
Go to > Acrobat > Preferences >Accessibility
In the section marked 'General', De-select the options 'Make Hand tool select text & images' and 'Make Hand tool read articles'
Quit Acrobat.
Reopen and check.

You are correct in that it's not functioning, however I do not have that option under the "online and adobe online" section in Adobe Customization Wizard XI. I have the following boxes that can be checked:
"Disable initiating shared reviews and data collection via distributed forms using Adobe online services (does not affect non Adobe online services reviews and forms).
"Disable the Tools pane in Reader"
"Disable file storage on Adobe online services"
"Enable file storage even when all other services are disabled"

Try setting the check boxes in Edit>Preferences>General for the following:
- Make Hand tool select text & images
- Make Hand tool read articles
- Make Hand tool use mouse-wheel zooming
Adjust these as needed but does it make any difference?

Thanks for your note but it’s still a skinny rod that seems to disappear. Why can’t it become a little thicker so it doesn’t disappear no matter what size I have set the screen? My poor old eyes aren’t what they used to be. I do appreciate your answering and I’ll enlarge the screen so the blankety-blankety blinking rod is at least visible. Nancy

Cursor size is governed by the type size and will be be larger or smaller on screen depending on how close you are zoomed in.

I´m not able to stablish wireless conextion from Macs with Leopard

Hi,
I have a new AirPort Extreme 802.11n and I´m not able to stablish wireless conextion from Macs with Leopard.
I´m following the manual´s steps to connect a Mac and it doesn´t work. Does it have to be with Leopard? Should I do something after updating to Leopard?
Does it have to be connected to the Internet to work? What could be happening? Please, help.

I update my lap top to Leopard, and was having trouble getting a connection out from a router. I would connect to the wireless network, but never get beyond that. I never had a problem at home with the airport extreme.
It should work. Have you been connected to a different network?
Can you see the airport extreme name as an option?

How can I reset cursor to left on subject line

Composing e-mail OR forwarding..the subject line cursor is offset to the right instead of on the left of the subject box. This just occurred recently from my memory. Ran AVG virus check with nothing found there. Any one know how to get the cursor reset in Verizon Yahoo e- mail?

I have not heard of that issue before. I used my Verizon Email account and I could not find a way to change or modify the default subject line cursor. It could be a browser issue. You can try to delete the cookies, or reset the browser back to the default settings. If you use Internet Explorer you can delete cookies by going to <Tools> then <Internet Options>, while in the internet options you can go to the <Advanced> tab to reset the browser back to default.

How do I temporarily select the hand tool in CS5.5

I recently upgraded to CS5.5 (7.5.3) and it seems that the shortcut for temporarily selecting the hand tool doesn't work any more. It used to be Alt+Spacebar in both text and standard mode. Now I can only get it working in text mode. For some reason Indesign won't let me set it to Alt+Space in standard. Any ideas?

It should be working the same as before (and when not in text mode, spacebar alone should also work). Check to be sure you aren't using some custom or oddball set of keybaord shortcuts (Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts...), and maybe try trashing the prefs (see Replace Your Preferences).

Connect the iOS device to your computer and restore via iTunes. Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode if necessary to allow the restore.
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

PS CS4 - Hand tool/panning lag after updating OS to Mavericks

I'm on an iMac, from early 2009. With a 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, and 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 memory. I'm using Photoshop CS4, and ever since my upgrade to Mavericks the hand tool has a bad lag to it. I've tried updating Java runtime, disabling/enabling OpenGL Drawing, flick panning with no luck. What's happening? I'd really prefer not to reinstall Photoshop, but it's slowing my work down so much that I'm almost willing.

When you see a beachball cursor or the slowness is especially bad, note the exact time: hour, minute, second.
These instructions must be carried out as an administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)

☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select

How do I reset our iPod nano 3rd generation to factory specs so we can sync it to our iMac and iTunes? We have forgotten the password and have given up on the guessing game after too many attempts. I have been through the support, tried trouble shooting, but it doesn't seem to sink in... What is the "simple" way to get our nano back for a new set up?

I should add that I have tried the online on how to restore but it says it has to be through iTunes and iTunes doesn't even recognize the iPod at this point. The iPod is an iPod 2 classic I believe.

Restart with the Option key held down and use the preloaded recovery partition.

I've just been told that "a lot of people have reported the total loss of their e-mail related to the Mavericks (10.9) update. It appears the update corrupts the email files on your computer and when the Apple e-mail client sees everything is "gone" it wipes the server too (your GMail account)."
I need to recover/retrieve a lost email sent from my GMail account back in sep/oct 2012. can any one help?
I have searched my account the relevant correspondence is gone. I should not have deleted it myself. I've only started using "Mail" for my GMail account last September, so the servers could not have mixed up the Gmail archives, I think. Either way, I'm not smart enough yet to know how to retrieve this correspondence. The lost email is rather important, why I need to investigate all possible solutions.
My gmail settings i.e. POP/IMAP and Filters are as they should, as far as I believe, but yet, I cannot tell how my settings were in 2012, tho I think I've never changed anything personally. In Sep 2012, arounf the time the, now lost, corresponcence took place, I switched to using Chrome, where before I was using Safari or Firefox. I now use a new mac book with Mavericks and browse in Chrome, most of the time.
Would anyone be able to guide me through some steps, or have any leads on this?

Unless you've done anything to change it, Google keeps every email that ever passes through their server in your All Mail folder/mailbox/label. Even if you delete stuff, they hold onto it, there. You have to go out of your way to actually delete anything permanently.
