How do i reset my entire apple id info?"

Received ipad for christmas. Kids put in incorrect birthdate. How do I reset?
I have gone through the Apple Id page and attempted to retype info but receive "incorrect info" message.
Apple email and password is okay.

Unfortunately you'll have to contact Apple Support, as changing these details too easily would be a possible security issue, given that credit card details and purchasing is involved.

  • How do I reset my entire password chain?

I went to log in the other day and my Macbook Pro running OS X Lion 10.7.5 (11G63) would not accept my password giving me the litle shakey move. I was able to get in my not using a password at all - I just hit return without entering anything in the password box. I then tried to reset my passsword using my apple ID. The new password works for some things like logging here to post this; or to download Apple updates, but nothing else. Also I discovered my log in picture icon was replaced by a target. It's the picture of me from the origonal set up I did. After some research I guess I have a keychain problem, but I don't know how to fix it - or where to start.

  • How do I reset without an Apple Computer?

I have a PC computer so I don't have an Apple to reset my phone, how do I go about this dilemma?

If you have iTunes on your PC then it's exactly the same as using a Mac. If you don't have iTunes on your PC then it's easy to download from the Apple website.

  • My iCloud account keeps resetting my password. How can i reset all my Apple devices at once?

I have 8 devices to reset each time. It resets the password anywhere from 3 days up to 2 weeks. I getting a little much to keep doing this.

I have this same issue.  If you have had your Apple ID for a long time, there used to be a setting that indicated the frequency in which it would force a reset.  The switch to change that frequency is no longer part of the Apple ID management website.  I read online that calling Apple could help - that they would reset it for you.  I tried that a couple of months ago last time it happened. They told me that next time I should just put in the same password three times and it would all be over.  However, when I tried that tonight, it wouldn't accept a password which had been previously used.  Like you, I have a bunch of devices and an Apple TV - painful.

  • How do i reset my USA apple id password.

I have bought my mac book pro 13" which is bought in USA a year back. Now I have moved to Canada and created a new apple id.
Now when i am trying to update the updates some of the updates is prompted for the password to the ID which i created in usa...Now I do not remember the password and online password reset tool is saying there is no such user id. I have to have the ID and password which i created in USA to proceed with some updates.
    Please advice here.

Did you select to delete the Apple ID or did you just create a new Apple ID? If you actually deleted the account, I'm not sure you can get it back.

  • How do I reset Panther for Apple setup

I have a G3 iMac that I no longer use and I want to give to a brother-in-law. So as to have a nice clean system I reformatted the hd and did a new install of Panther. To update the software I had to create an admin user and log on to use "software update". Now I want to remove the admin user and basicly reset it like it just came out of the box from Apple, but with all the software up-to-date. Is this possible?

Here is a short method and a long method posted by Kappy:
This is the simple method and doesn't involve erasing the hard drive.
Boot from your OS X Installer. After the installer loads select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (or Utilities menu if using Tiger.) After DU loads select your OS X volume from the list on the left, click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now shutdown the computer for a couple of minutes and then restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior (3.0.3 for Tiger) and/or TechTool Pro (4.1.2 for Tiger) to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
    2. Next, boot to single user mode. Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND-S keys until the computer starts up to a black screen with white type.
    3. At the prompt, type the following commands, each command followed by the Return key:
    /sbin/fsck -yf
    mount -uw /
    rm /private/var/db/.AppleSetupDone
    shutdown -r now
The second-to-last command above will cause OS X to think that the operating system is newly installed, and when you reboot, it will send you through the Startup Wizard.
    This is the long method:
Follow these instructions step by step to prepare a Mac for sale:
    First, back up the data:
    1) Shut down all Virtual PCs. They cannot be in their "fast saved" state. They must be shut down from inside Windows.
    2) Clone to an external drive using Carbon Copy Cloner.
Next, prepare the machine for the new buyer:
    3) Deauthorize the computer in iTunes! Deauthorize both iTunes and Audible accounts.
    4) Remove Open Firmware passwords
    5) Turn the brightness full up and volume nearly so.
    Install a fresh OS:
    6) Insert the OS X install CD/DVD.
    7) Restart the computer while holding down the C key to boot from the CD/DVD.
    8) Run Disk Utility from the file menu and erase the internal hard drive (optionally zero all data).
    9) Install OS X.
    10) Reboot the computer.
    11) From the welcome screen, you can skip the registration step by typing command-Q.
    12) When prompted, create an account (it will be an admin account).
    13) From your new admin account, configure networking.
    14) Then use Software Update to bring your system and all of it's applications up to date.
    15) From Disk Utility, repair permissions on the new volume.
Now delete the account you just created:
    16) Boot from a different volume (e.g. a firewire drive, if available)
    17) Clean up the image using the following terminal commands:
    prompt> rm /Volumes/<imagevol>/var/db/BootCache.playlist
    prompt> rm /Volumes/<imagevol>/var/db/volinfo.database
    prompt> rm -r /Volumes/<imagevol>/var/vm/swap*
    18) Now you can get rid of the admin account you used to set up the machine Use the terminal:
    prompt> nicl -raw /Volumes/<imagevol>/var/db/netinfo/local.nidb -delete /users/<admin>
    prompt> rm -r /Volumes/<imagevol>/Users/<admin>
    prompt> rm /Volumes/<imagevol>/var/db/.AppleSetupDone
    19) Shut down and ship it to your buyer. When they get it, it will boot to the Welcome screen just like a factory Mac, except that it's better because it's completely up to date.
    With acknowledgements to Kappy
    Good luck.

I tried to reset my password using apple Id method, but the password I typed is incorrect. HELP HELP HELP

    Hi Davehov,
What iOS is the phone running? If it is iOS 7, then as ramzee209 indicated, you must contact the seller to get any further.
If it is running an earlier iOS, you can hook it up to the computer where you iTunes library is located, and restore it:
Place the device in recovery mode and restore it to erase the device:
Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to shut down.
While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
iTunes will alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then restore the device.
    Cheers,

  • How do I reset ipad in apple configurator

trying to configure ipads in configurator, cant get it to work correctly. it there a way to delete existing profile and wipeout ipad to start new again. I cant get configurator to see ipad in prepare mode. thanks.

Just guessing it sounds like you have used configurator on this iPad before it stopped showing in Prepare. So most likely you have supervised this iPad, and now it will only show up in the Supervise tab.
Have only the iPad in question plugged into the Mac, go to the Supervise tab and click USB connected devices on the left hand side. If an iPad is in that list, there it is. If you would still like to wipe it and start fresh, right click (or click with two fingers at the same time, depending on your settings) on the iPad and a drop down menu will appear. Click on 'Unsupervise'. That will wipe your iPad and unsupervise it, as if it was a brand new iPad that had never been plugged into Apple Configurator.

  • Giving iBook to relative - How do I reset the entire system?

I am giving my old iBook to a relative. I ran the harddrive up to near capacity with music and graphics files. I really did not add too many programs besides Office and Photoshop Elements. I would like to keep all the apps, but permenently delete all the files, settings, passwords and such associated with me.
I assume there is a very easy way to do this, could someone point me in the right direction?
    Thanks!

Here are a couple of other options:
    1. You now have a new Admin Account with the old computer shortname. You can change that with Changing the Short Username in Mac OS X.

  • How can I reset family sharing and payment info when itunes requires verification information from a lost credit card?

I was attempting to make an App store purchase and the App Store required verification of my computer.  The information the App Sotre - and ITunes require is the expiration date [ mm / yyyy ] and the security code off the back of my registered credit card.  The card is lost - and so is the information.  ITUnes will not allow me to change the payment information without verifying my information by - again - including the information from the back of the missing credit card. So I am stuck.

This is my account info for iTunes & AppStore:
This is the payment info in iCloud Family Sharing settings:
Obviously I was able to change the payment info in iTunes/App Store. What do I have to do to make that carry over to iCloud?

  • Can't migrate files "don't have permission to read" - how can I reset access?

    Hi,
I bought a mac mini, the mid 2010 model, it had Snow Leopard. I also have a PowerPC G5 running Leopard. So I migrated my files to the mac mini. Then a week later the new mac mini came out (last week). So, preparing to swap my new old mini for the new new mini I copied all my files BACK to the PowerPC. Got the new new mac mini, and of course it runs Lion. I tried to migrate my files but Lion and Leopard (not Snow Leopard, and it can't be upgraded because it's a PowerPC keep in mind) don't play well with each other. Fine. So I next tried to straight copy the files over my network. No go because I get this message:
Items can’t be copied to “Desktop” because you don’t have permission to read them.
I'm using the same login and password on both computers. Both are administrator level. The permissions for the systems themselves have been repaired. I've also tried to set the permissions to the files I want to migrate using this terminal command:
sudo chown -R yourusername:staff  (and then dragging the folders I want blessed into the window)
no go... says I don't have permission to do so.
I tried "pushing" the docs from the other old computer to the new. Doesn't work
I'm trying copying to the Public folder now - and while it works for MOST of the documents many are still being left behind with the same permissions problem.
So, here's my question, given I've tried the above: How can you reset an entire folders contents to become absolutely "public"? There must be a way to do this that I'm missing. Again, I already realize I'm copying from different to new computers, but in Lion I can't seem to reset folder permissions to include "all subfolders" or "all files within this folder" (or whatever it used to say).
    Thanks for any suggestions

Thanks for the help Pondini (gave you a "Helpful Answer" 'star' ). A couple of things, so others have it in front of them:
Setup Assistant can only be used at first install - otherwise you have to reinstall to use it.
Second, it's "dumb" that you can't use network between Leopard and Lion. ARGH. - especially since the firewire ports are different on many newer and older macs (and I mean older as in just over 4 years - not that old really). However you can get adapters (that's the next thing to try) that will change the old pin (4 pin I believe) to the newer (9 pin I believe, have to check that one).
The 501 reference I can check, thanks - I recall seeing that long ago in poking around
On the Lion machine it reads
    User ID: 501
    Group ID: staff
On the Leopard  machine I want to copy from TO the Lion machine it reads:
    User ID: 501
    Group ID: 501
So it seems possible (I'm not sure what I'm seeing - educate me please lol) that the Group ID's don't match, where the Lion machine is staff while the Leopard is '501' - does this matter?
    Thanks.
