I recently changed my apple id name and now my iPhone wants the old information in order to delete my old iCloud account under the old apple id name. How can I reset this and delete the old account? My apple id works on all other items but is looking for old information after updating to iOS 7 on iphone4s

you should receive 2 questions giving you the option of either answering secret questions or resetting via email
if you select via email an email is sent tot he original account you created the Icloud account and follow the prompts (very easy)
of course you can choose secret question if you remember your answers........i found email easiest!

Your old ID connects to an icloud account containing all your data (email, contacts, etc.) If you then use a different ID, you will connect to a different account, which results in losing all your "apple" data, like emails, contacts, calendars, etc.
However, Apple IDs are also used to connect to an itunes store account, with is different. You can keep using the old itunes store ID to keep all your purchases (but if you change to a different ID, you will lose all purchased items) and use the new ID for icloud (but losing emails, contacts, etc. from the old account).

You need to use the old ID and password to delete the iCloud account. After you delete the old account, you can sign in with the new ID in iCloud.

Not sure what you mean by "reset" your iCloud account, but if you want to clean up other data, just delete it from the apps on your phone that are syncing with iCloud, or from icloud.com. They will be simultaneously deleted from iCloud and any devices syncing with iCloud.
Similarly, if you delete photos from your my photo stream album, they will be deleted from your photo steam and any devices connected to your photo stream. If you want to save them first, open the my photo stream album, tap Edit, tap the photos to select them, tap Edit, tap Save to Camera Roll.

You are going to need to go to: FORGOT APPLE ID to retrieve your iCloud/Apple ID. Once you know your ID, you can log onto Apple - My Apple ID and click on Reset Password to answer the Security Questions you will need to answer. If you don't remember the answers, you will have to contact Apple Support to have them reset: ACCOUNT SECURITY CONTACT NUMBERS

TThat's the problem. I've tried to delete the current icloud account but in order to that you need to put in the old password which I don't have so it kicks me out.

You can't restore the iPhone without the original Apple ID. But Apple IDs are never deleted (unless you go through a long process with Apple Security). Why do you think the ID no longer exists?

I need to reset my password for my iCloud email. I forgot the password because I made it about a year ago and forgot to write it down. I used my iCloud email which it *****n****[email protected] for many of my social media accounts. I have recently found out that if I want to reset my password for a social media account, that it will not go to my imessage. I have not yet set up *****n****[email protected] on the mail app, which is what I am assuming you have to have if you want social networks to email you on your mobile phone.
