How do I reset my incoming mail. I had virus on AOL account and had to change passwords. iPad will not recognize it now.
I Recently got virus on an AOL account that pushes to my ipad. I had to reset my password. I have changed the password on my iPad but it will not recognize it. I keep getting message that username or password is incorrect. I have powered off and back on several times. Any suggestions
Did you check the outgoing mail server setting? Make sure that your username and password are in there.
Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Your email account>Account>Outgoing mail server - tap the server name next to SMTP and check in the primary server and make sure your username and password are entered and correct - even if it says that the password is optional.

Thank you for your advice. I followed your directions, but came up with the same results. However, I did discover that whenever I open up the iPhoto Library that is already existing on my MacBook a certain set of pictures shows up. But then when I open up the iPhoto Library from the Hard drive another set of pictures shows up. BUT not ALL of my pictures are showing up on the iPhoto Library from the hard drive. At least the last two years of pictures are not showing up?! Actually, it appears that all the pictures are there from when I started using iPhoto about 5 years ago up until around the time that I got my iMac desktop computer and started using that (2 years ago). I have noticed that more recent videos I have made are showing up in a folder on the hard drive, but will not appear when I open up iMovie?! My safari is blocked or locked. When I click on safari at the top of my screen, everything below it is gray. How can I get it to open for me?

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. The music sync is one way - computer to ipod. The exception is itunes purchases. Without syncing: File>Transfer Purchases.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion.
Use your backup copy to put everything back. -

What do you mean reset? If you want to remove and re-add the account, head to Settings -> Mail, Contacts, and Calendars. Select the account you wish to delete, scroll down to the bottom and tap Delete Account. From there you can choose to recreate the account.

The settings are not generic for all webmail accounts, only your office IT department would know what the server address is for their outgoing email server. You'll have to ask them about it.

My ipad will not connect tot he server when trying to access my mail. This has been happening since last Sunday. Some have said it is due to the latest software update. I am able to connect to the internet.
I am not having this issue on iPhone.
I checked all the settings, the wireless router in my house and at work.
I have completed a hard reset of the device.
I had our IT guy at work look at it.
He said to contact Apple....

Had problem with my hotmail account and had to change my password. Ever since then, my default e-mail account set up to hotmail doesn't work...it sends from gmail. How can I correct that?
On your iPhone you need to change your password in 2 places:
- Incoming Mail Server and
- Outgoing Mail Server
To get to the password entry for the Outgoing Mail Server you have to tap on cell smtp.live.com and again on the second view. -

You need to use the old ID and password to delete the iCloud account. After you delete the old account, you can sign in with the new ID in iCloud.

Content is forever tied to the Apple ID that bought it. Apple does not transfer content from one Apple ID to another. Apple does not merge Apple IDs. You will never be able to access your content bought with one Apple ID with a new Apple ID. Your only option is to delete the content and buy it again with the new Apple ID. -
