How do I reset my ipad to brand new?

my sister gave me her iPad 2 (no 3G) For me to use and I've been trying ti reset it so it looks as if it is completely mine. However, although I do all the Reset all contents and Setting from the Setting section, when I plug it to my computer it says the iPad has already been sync once. I want it to star from scratch, as if it has never been used before. How do I do that? What I need is for the iPad to ask for registration and not show that message I mentioned before. Thanks in advance!

Restore...
From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore.  Do not allow a backup and, when finished, do not copy any backup material to the iPad.

    Tap on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and log out of the account, and then log back in with the updated version of your account so as to 'refresh' the account on it (you updated your existing account with a new email address, you didn't create a new account ?).

  • How can I reset my iPad that I forgot the password to my linked account.

    My iPad is linked to an old gmail account of mine that I believe has been hacked.  I have tried everything to
    reset my gmail password and it hasn't worked.  I think someone changed all of my information.  I have
    tried to reset my iPad by holding down the home button and power button and connecting to iTunes.  I
    did the restore but now it is saying "This iPad is currently linked to an Apple ID. Sign in with the Apple ID
    that was used to set up this iPad."  It provides me with the Apple ID: m*****@gmail.com and wants me
    to enter the password but I don't know the password and have tried everything to retrieve it.  There's nothing
    on the iPad so I don't care about erasing any data.  How can I reset the iPad so that I can use it?  Is there
    another method besides the one I have already tried?

    If your iPad is running iOS 7, there is no way you're going to be able to regain access to your iPad without the password for the Apple ID used by that iPad. You cannot even restore the iPad to factory settings without the password. This is an anti-theft feature.
    You will need to contact Apple and try to regain control of your Apple ID. It is entirely possible, however, for the hacker to make changes to your Apple ID that would make it difficult or impossible to do that. You need to act as quickly as possible!

    With iOS 7, Find My iPhone includes a new feature called Activation Lock, which makes it difficult for anyone to use or sell stolen iPad.
    With Activation Lock, the Apple ID and password of original owner will be required to:
    1. Turn off Find My iPhone on your device
    2. Erase your device
    3. Reactivate and use your device

I also tried my husbands youtube login and password and the same outcome. Now I cant log into YouTube via the iPad account. I can log into Youtube via Google however my subscriptions and favorites are all gone. Can I reset the YouTube account located on the iPad? I cant seem to reset the password or delete the app and re-add. I dont want to reset the iPad since I have alot of videos and pictures on it.

    Do you have Google 2 stage authentication turned on?
    If so, you wont't be able to use your normal google password, but will have to instead generate an "application specific" password for the iPad YouTube app in the google security settings section.

  • How do you reset an ipad mini without knowing the password?

    I have just recently changed my password, but know i have forgot the new one. How do you reset the ipad without knowing the password?

    If you mean the passcode to unlock the iPad then you will need to connect it to the computer that you normally sync to and you should then be able to reset the iPad and restore/re-sync your content to it (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212) - you may need to put the iPad into recovery mode in order to be able to reset it : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808
    If you do it via a different computer then :
    If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present.

    Tammy,
    Unfortunately your iPhone is just a paper weight. Return it to the pawn shop for a refund.
    iCloud: Find My iPhone Activation Lock in iOS 7 explains the "Buyer Beware" facts:
    When purchasing an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from someone other than Apple or an authorized Apple reseller, it is up to you to ensure that the device has been erased and is no longer linked to the previous owner’s account.
    Follow each of these steps to make sure that you can use the device you purchase:
    Turn the device on and slide to unlock.If the passcode lock screen or the home screen appears, the device has not been erased. Ask the seller to completely erase the device by going to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings. Do not take ownership of any used iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch until it has been erased.
    Begin the device setup process.After choosing a language, choosing a country, and connecting to a network, the device will begin activation. If you are asked for the previous owner’s Apple ID and password, the device is still linked to their account. Hand the device back to the seller and ask them to enter their password. If the previous owner is not present, they can remove the device from their account by signing in toicloud.com/find. Do not take ownership of any used iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch until it has been removed from the previous owner’s account.
    You will know that a device is ready for you to use when you are asked to “Set up your iPhone", “Set up your iPad", or “Set up your iPod” during the device setup process.

    How do I reset used ipad mini that still has previous owners apple id in it?

    Where is the id showing ? If the previous owner left it tied to his/her account in Settings > iCloud and has Find My iPad enabled on that screen  then you will have to contact the previous owner, only he/she can remove the iPad from their account - it will need his account's password to log out directly on the iPad, or he can do it via http://www.icloud.com

    Saw this solution on another post about an iPad in a school environment. Might work on your iPad so you won't lose everything.

    ‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
    Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
    I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
    Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
    If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.
     Cheers, Tom
  • How can I reset my IPad?  It won't take my code and it is the only one I know I have.
    How can I reset my IPad?  I've tried twice and had the passcode that I use to unlock my IPad rejected.  Should I be using my apple.com password?  I'm afraid to try again as it might lock the IPad.  I don't remember any other code.  My Wifi and 3G won't work.
    Your password for your Apple ID is not the same as the passcode for the screen lock on your iPad unless you set it that way deliberately, enabling the extra-long passcodes (the standard is a four-digit number). If you have a passcode to the screen lock that you've forgotten, restore the iPod from the computer to which the iPod is synced. For information and instructions, see:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1212
    If that will not work, you'll need to put the iPod into Recovery Mode and then try the Restore again:
  • How do I sync my iPad with a new iTunes library without erasing all the previously purchased apps & data on my iPad?
    I'm sure this is a common issue, and I've google-searched for solutions but I cannot find a straight forward answer anywhere. I really hope an expert here can help me out.
    I purchased an iPad last year and synced it with my iTunes library on my old PC laptop. Well, my PC laptop harddrive crashed last week and I cannot access anything on my laptop anymore. I did not make a back-up for my PC harddrive either. I know, next time I should make a back-up and I will. But that's irrelevant. The PC is gone now.
    I replaced my PC this week with a brand new Mac Book Pro. Excited about my new purchase, I quickly hooked up my iPad with the hopes of easily transferring and accessing my iPages, iNumbers, and other productivity iPad apps seamlessly to my new beautiful Mac Book Pro. But now I've run into the nightmarish dilemma of not being able to sync my beloved Ipad with my new MAC without getting the warning that basically says "your iPad is already synced with another iTunes Library. You may only sync to one iTunes Library at a time. You will lose all your data if you sync to this new computer."
    Can someone give me a straightfoward answer as to how I can sync my iPad with my new iTunes Library on my new Mac Book Pro without losing any of the apps that I previously purchased? I want to be able to access the apps I downloaded on my iPad on my Mac Book Pro.
    Thanks so much!!!!!!
    While it isn't as easy to just use a Mac iDevice as media storage as Android and Windows, you can add documents and such like Word, PDF and others manually in iTunes to have them sync as well.
