How do I reset the number of activations on Visio 2003 after getting a "too many activations" message?

I just installed Visio 2003 on a PC, and got the "we can't activate this app via the internet because you've installed it too many times" message. I went back to phone activation, but, of course, that's no longer available for this product.
How do I get the number of activations reset? Apparently you used to be able to do this by calling Microsoft, but what's the number to call? Or is there another way to do it?
I'm probably going to need to do it for my copy of Office 2003 also.

Perhaps I can clarify a bit more about my question. I used Migration Assitant (or whatever it's called) to transfer all my files and folders from a PC. I'm not sure I transfered any applications. I'm using Gmail for email and I loaded a newly purchased MSFT "home office" CD for Word, PPT, Excel (and, maybe, Outlook which I don't use).
I also transferred many thousands of digitial photos, a bunch of digital video, and a gazillion folders, files and docs.
I bought a new Western Digital 1 T backup drive which Time Machine (or whatever it's called) is busy using all the time. I think that's about all of what I have on it and how I set it up.
The problem I'm having (which I spent an hour on yesterday speaking with an Apple technician on the phone) and who kindly helped me change the computer name to what I wanted and re-set my Apple ID and Password and checked some stuff in System Preferences (which I can't exactly remember). Of course, the whole time I was on the phone with him -- just like visiting the doctor -- I had no problem at all. The PROBLEM is that a box called syncdefaultsd pops up every ten minutes or so and asks me to 'login' although my computer was never turned off. Then, sometimes concurrently, I get a similar request from Mail or Keychain to 'login' ... even though I don't think I've ever logged off.
It's not possible that the Mac was designed to be so intrusive demaning constant logins, is it? Is there a place on the computer where one can set the frequency of these requests ... or is something out of whack?!
I will slowly work my way through most of the tuturials and resources you sent (I have read a few of them already since I bought the computer at the beginning of November, 2011.

Do you have the accurate count? If you don't and iTunes doesn't then nobody does. Here's a script that will set it to your heart's desired playcount, but what number it uses is up to you.

How to set up the number of tabs restored at once after a reboot?

I usually have opened one or two windows with a total of 15-20 tabs at once. When I restart Firefox, it loads the tabs in the background, but only three at a time. It can get a while to load all of them, and it is sluggy while loading. I have a four core processor and lots of RAM, so I wouldn't mind to trade processor time and/or RAM for speed. Also, I don't mind wandering in about:config or installing a new add-on. How can I set up Firefox so it loads more (about 8-10) tabs at once while restoring a session?

Why that change? Why deprecate a setting that only power users who knew what they were doing changed, and that can do good in the right hands? Is there any hope that this setting (or a similar one) will get enabled in a future release?
Lately, I'm having a feeling that Mozilla no longer thinks about its power users, the ones that will evangelize more, and makes breaking changes without worrying about them. The ones that are fleeing to the other open source browser. Maybe it's time for me to think about switching, too. Sadly...

Step 1 - by trial and error...
So far, I have been able to create physical files containing MP3 and JPG on the NAS using the Windows XP systems to copy from shared locations on the Vista and Win7 boxes. This process has been aided by the use of a 600 GB SATA 2 capable hard drive enclosure. I first attach to Win 7 or Win Vista and reboot to see the local drive spaces formatted on the portable device. Then I copy files from the user's private directories to the public drive space. When the portable drive is wired to an XP box, I can use Windows to move the files from the portable device to the NAS without any of the more advanced file attributes being copied to the NAS. Once the files are on the NAS, I can add the new folder(s) to iTunes on any of the computers and voila, the data becomes sharable via iTunes. So far, this works for anything that I have completely purchased, or for MP3's I made from the AIC files created when I purchased alblums via iTunes.
I have three huge boxes full of vynl records I've accumulated. The ones that I've successfully digitized via a turntable attached to the sound card on one of my computers and third party software, have found their way to the NAS after being imported into iTunes and using it to bring down available album art work. In general I've been reasonably well pleased with the sound quality of digital MP3 files created this way, but the software I've been using sometimes has serious problems automatically separating individual songs from the album tracks and re-converting "one at a time" isn't very efficient.

How can I activate Indesign? I get a too-many-activations error, but there is no way to deactivate the copy that I am replacing. The Mac it was on went down, and the hard drive is not readable. I installed from the original disc and put in the serial# as requested. There is no option in the app to contact Adobe. When I use the website, I get an endless loop of click-around that ends at contact-support. Click that and it sends me back to the start. This should be a simple phone call with an easy to find number. I eventually found, by accident, the chat feature, but it was and is, unavailable. Please offer some real-world advice on how to get this fixed. I don't really want to go back to Quark...activation

You need to delete your current hotmail account set up on your iphone.
Once this has done click 'Add Account' and select the new 'outlook.com' tab.
Set up your hotmail account again from scratch and this will then allow you to select how many weeks/months of emails you sync to your phone.
Im not sure if anyone else had a similar problem to me prior to iOS 7, but if i deleted an email from my hotmail account on my iphone - it wouldnt sync with my actual hotmail account. So when i logged in online all the emails I had deleted on my phone would still be showing as unread.
But by setting the account up as above, they now sync perfectly.

You need to use WCF-Custom adapter and add the ServiceThrottlingBehavior service behavior to a WCF-Custom Locations.
ServiceThrottlingBehavior.MaxConcurrentCalls - Gets or sets a value that specifies the maximum number of messages actively processing across a ServiceHost. The MaxConcurrentCalls property specifies the maximum number of messages actively
processing across a ServiceHost object. Each channel can have one pending message that does not count against the value of MaxConcurrentCalls until WCF begins to process it.

How do i limit the number of simultaneous downloads to my ipod touch?

I just purchased a new ipod touch and want to dump my entire icloud library onto it. I figured the easiest way to do this would be to make a smart playlist that includes all my music and then just download the whole playlist (thousands of songs). The problem is, at about 2/3 of the way through a track, the ipod touch automatically starts downloading the next track. At this point, it's trying to download about 50 tracks simultaneously and as a result is taking abotu 5 minutes to download one song. How can I limit the number of simultaneous downloads? Is there a faster way to load up a new ipod touch with your icloud library? Thanks.

Thank you for the reply. I had no idea I had so much access to Firefox prefs.
It's still a strange design though. Yep, the original setting was set to 30 simultaneous downloads. I set it to four, which would see to make my Mac more usable as four downloads are rolling while all the rest are in queue.
Only probably is, Firefox doesn't just think of what is in the download list as a "download". Once all four downloads are rolling, no more webpages will open! (Strangely, sometimes they will, but very slowly ... but usually not at all.)
Apparently, even a browser tab is a "download" and is stopped once the assigned number of simultaneous downloads is reached.
So I'm still back to not being able to limit my downloads for the benefit of having good use of my browser while downloads are coming in.
Right now, one pages where I have boo-koo downloads I want to initiate at one time, I'm clicking "download", starting the download, going to the downloads list, pausing it, getting another download, pausing it, and so on until I have a complete queue ready to go. Then I start the downloads once I know that I no longer need the internet.
That seems sort of for the birds, doesn't it?
Does anyone have any suggestions? Other specialized download programs get the concept of an active queue and a paused queue with a number-setting to determine the max downloads. Why doesn't Firefox get this? Or does it and have I just still not found it?

If the auto place put photos on all 100 pages you'll need to reset the layout on the first 50 pages so all photos will fit in just those 50 pages. Then add the photos to the first 50 pages and delete the last 50 according to the link Larry provided.

Thanks for your prompt response, however I have first seen it now. I have placed an active SIM card in the iPhone turned it off and on. It now says SIM locked, please write access code. The problem is I don't remember the password. When I connect it to iTunes it tell me that I have to write the password before it can be used with iTunes...... Do you have any good ideas?
