How do I reset trackpad gestures to defaults?

Morning,
I have a new rMBP and I've restored my user account, files etc from a Time Machine backup of a 2007 MBP, also running Mavericks. I've found that forward/backward (two-finger) swipes don't work very well in programs like Safari, iPhoto etc. I'll start swiping and the page will get halfway across the screen and then snap back, and it's next to impossible to get it to properly go to the next/previous page.
For testing, I created a new user account and everything is working fine on that, so my guess is that I've imported some settings from my old laptop (which didn't support multitouch gestures) which are causing problems. But, is there a way I can reset all of the gesture preferences to defaults? (Is it even a gesture preference, or is it some other OS configuration element)?
I've tried copying over the com.apple.AppleMultitouchTrackpad.plist and com.apple.driver.AppleBluetoothMultitouchTrackpad.plist from ~Library/Preferences on the new user account to my old one, with no effect. I've even tried deleting the whole contents of ~Library/Preferences and logging out/back in - nothing. All my swipe/click settings are preserved so they must be stored somewhere else.
If I delete the com.apple.AppleMultitouchTrackpad.plist file and then change my swipe settings via System Preferences, the file isn't even recreated, so I'm struggling to tell where it's inherited from and where the click and gesture settings are kept.
I'd be grateful for any suggestions how I can reset the trackpad behaviour to default, so back/forward swiping will work properly again...!

Quit Safari

Appearance settings have nothing to do with the program preferences. You simply reset them on the appearance panel or the relevant sub-dialogs of whatever effects you are using.

Personally, I find CS6 really slow, specifically with keyboard functions. CS5 would allow you to cue several tasks while it's working on present task. CS6 won't even let you close a file [command W] in mid-save...

Hadn't restarted Bridge CS5 since deinstalling CS6. Now it's opening files in Photoshop CS5.

That's normal behavior. Checkerboard denotes transparency. When you remove pixels from a background layer with erase tool, it is transparent beneath.

Hi,
I just installed RealPlayer 10, which I only use for watching BBC News clips.
Unfortunately, it has set itself up as my default player. How do I reset QuickTime as my default player?
I've already been into Real Player preferences and deselected the media types I DO NOT want it to play as default, but it persists in playing them as default anyway!!!
And I've tried uninstalling it and re-downloading it, but each time it just defaults to my default player!
If there is any other way to view BBC News clips on the BBC website, other than using Real Player (or, super worst case scenario) Windows Media Player, please let me know.
If not, how do I get QuickTime to be my default player whilst having RealPlayer for ONLY what I want!!!!!!?

You did not provide a link to the specific BBC page. So I went over to http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/videoandaudio/default.stm & noted that you have a choice of players---WMP or RP.
Since you do not want to use RP any longer, your only other alternative would be to use Flip4Mac if the page you were on gave you the same options.

Trackpad gestures in VoiceOver?

My main reason for upgrading to snow leopard was the multitouch trackpad support in voiceover. I've successfully installed the OS, and I'm pretty satisfied . . . except I can't get the trackpad gestures to work. It says to press the VO keys and two-finger rotate clockwise, but that doesn't seem to do anything. If anyone knows how to get the trackpad gestures working, I'd really appreciate the help.

The multitouch trackpad support requires a multitouch trackpad, and unfortunately your MacBook doesn't possess one. Only recent MacBook Pros have them.
You'll find loads of good features in the new VoiceOver, however. Have fun exploring them!

I know that one can change each individual web page (that reset defaults back to 100%) and, alternatively and apparently one can load an add-on to fix the default size at Full Zoom.
... But any hints on how to achieve a DEFAULT 125% zoom would be much appreciated.

Have you tried Firefox's zoom feature? Font size and zoom - increase the size of web pages
You can "zoom" all sites using this add-on: [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2592/ NoSquint]. After setting your global zoom level, you can still fine-tune the zoom on individual sites.
After installing NoSquint, click the % on the Add-on Bar to call up site preferences, then click the Global Settings button, then the Zooming tab.
If you don't have the Add-on Bar displayed, you can right-click the new tab button ("+") or a blank area of the tab bar to the right of it and choose Add-on Bar from the shortcut menu.
You can experiment with sizes larger than 125%, but I wouldn't go much higher than 150% unless you have a large high-resolution monitor.
If there are particular sites that still present a problem, feel free to post their URLs.
