  • How can I resize a pdf page content with annotations and highlights in Acrobat Pro?

How can I resize a pdf page content with annotations and highlights in Acrobat Pro while maintaining page size and annotation/highlight interactivity? I've tried to use the crop tool in Acrobat Pro (9) and the page does resize, but the highlights and annotations go all over the place. I specifically need to scale the page content smaller (83%) but maintain page size and annotation/highlight to content connection and interactivity.

An old trick (not recommended) would be to print to a new PDF with the page size selected but a scaling of the content. Only print the document, not the markup, to a new PDF. Close that PDF when done and reopen the old one (or maybe a copy of the old one for safety) and use Document Replace pages and select the new document to replace your current pages. You will then have to go back through the markup to locate it all correctly. There may be a more elegant way, but this may be the fastest.

  • How does I resize a pdf file page using Acrobat Pro?

In Acrobat Pro, how can one resize a pdf file page (21.38'' x 26.75'') into one measuring 6'' x 9'', to be submitted as the trim size? Is there a feature that allows this to be done? How does one set all print options from the Application print dialog box to enable one to adjust the dimensions of any customized file page?

I want to scale the 21.4'' by 26.8'' content down to one that can be fitted inside a 6'' by 9'' book.
I have this pdf that was created from the InkFlow app, and I'm using Acrobat Pro to merge three files into one (about 300MB), which I needed to submit to Amazon's CreateSpace, but they needed the trim size of 6'' by 9'', while the pdf is 21.4''' by 26.8'', and I can't amend the source file size of the InkFlow files.
I tried fiddling with the Crop and Print options, but I'm unable to resize the pdf to match the trim size. The problem on my side isn't so much on printing but to resize the pdf file page to 6'' by 9'' to satisfy Amazon's requirement for their trim size. Could this be done with Acrobat Pro? The message that appears is: Full print options of Acrobat Pro, set all print options from the Application print dialog box. Thank for the help.

  • How can I resize the PDF I created with a magazine template?

Hello! I used a template that`s a different size than what I need. How can I resize (make it smaller) the PDF that I just created with this magazine template?

So you picked a template in A4 format, and now you need letter. The printer can scale the PDF to 11" and it will get even narrower, leaving large margins. Does it have bleeds? That woudl be a disaster.
Frankly, the best thing is to start over using the correct page size, but you can go to File > Document Setup... in ID and change the shape of the exisiting file. Expect to do a lot of work moving and resizing objects and refitting the type.

  • How do I change page size of an existing .pdf?

I have Adobe Acrobat  XI Pro on my Mac running 10.6.
How do I resize an existing .pdf document that is 20" x 40" down to 4" x 8"?
    Thanks!
    Bob

Thank you Gilad D, Steve and Bill for your answers. Unfortunately, they don't solve my problem.
Acrobat does not have a virtual printer option for a Mac operation 10.6. The only way you can "print" to a .pdf is by opening up any application and using File -> Print -> PDF -> Save as PDF.
Any application, that is, except Acrobat.
The Acrobat print dialog box gives the user a robust number of options to manipulate the printing of a document. Sadly, there is no "print to PDF" option. When you choose "Printer" (lower left corner), you get the printer's default dialog box that gives making a PDF an option. However if you choose this, another dialog box pops up stating "Saving a PDF file when printing is not supported. Instead, choose File > Save." When you go to File > Save, it is greyed out (since you are using an existing saved PDF file). If you try Save As, you are not given the option to resize the page.
Alternatively, when you open the existing PDF file in Macintosh's Preview or Skim applications, you are given the option in the print dialog boxes to scale the image. However when you print to a PDF, the file size does not change (which is one of the driving motivations for changing the page size).
I can't believe that Adobe doesn't have an option in Acrobat to address this issue. While I appreciate the suggestions regarding InDesign (or even PhotoShop for that matter), I'd rather not drop $400 +/- for a program to solve a problem that a reasonable person would expect Acrobat to do itself.
Please... are there any other options?
    Thank you,
    Bob

  • Resizing a document when making a pdf

How do I resize a document that is originally 11X17 to be 8.5 X 11 (similar to "print to fit") when I am exporting an InDesign document to PDF?
When I used Quark, I created pdf's by going through the print window and was able to downsize my document to fit 8.5 X 11 paper.
Is there a way to do that with InDesign?

I do have Acrobat installed. I know how to use Distiller (the old fashioned way).
I know how to create pdfs through the print window, as I said, this is the way I created pdfs from my Quark documents...I just do not have this option in the current version of InDesign. I switched from Quark because I wanted to "upgrade" because I thought InDesign would be more efficient.
But as with any change of system/software/procedure, there's always kinks to work through and this is one that's giving me grey hairs.
I have a 24 page newspaper that I upload to our website but the general public usually doesn't have access to a printer that can print 11X17 pages. Also, a smaller physically sized document takes up less space on the web server. Therefore, I need to find a way to change the size of the document in a way that is not more time consuming than it used to be. Otherwise, I might have to consider switching back to Quark which would be unfortunate because I really like InDesign.

  • How do you resize photos on a page of a book created in iPhoto '09?

How do you resize photos on a page of a book created in iPhoto '09? I can zoom in or out, but I can't figure out how to make a photo smaller. Is this just because I am working in a Contemporary book format, using a 2 photos per page layout? I'd like to work with maximum flexibility, like starting from the blank template in iWeb, where I can add any number of photos, text, and change all the sizes. Is this possible? Thanks.

How do you resize photos on a page of a book created in iPhoto '09? I can zoom in or out, but I can't figure out how to make a photo smaller.
You resize the photo by clicking on it and zooming
You can not resize the photo frame
Is this just because I am working in a Contemporary book format, using a 2 photos per page layout?
No they all work the same - see Liz Castro's page - http://www.lizcastro.com/iphotobookthemes/ - for a detailed description of iPhoto '08 layouts - all of those carry forward to iPhoto '09 plus there are new ones that she has not documented yet
I'd like to work with maximum flexibility, like starting from the blank template in iWeb, where I can add any number of photos, text, and change all the sizes. Is this possible?
Not in iWeb but you can do pages in any page layout program (word, pagemaker, pages, etc) and print to PDF using the send PDF to iPhoto option to create a totally custom page - see Old Toad's tutorial #19 - http://web.mac.com/toad.hall/OldToadsTutorials/No._19.html - for directions

How to display or generate PDF417 barcode dynamically in PDF form? I am using Acrobat XI Professional and there is a Bar Code Field in the same through which I generated the same. But I want to generate the same dynamically.

What do you mean by dynamically? When yo set up a 2D bar code field you specify which field name/value pairs you want to include, along with other parameters. But be aware that they won't work with Reader unless you Reader-enable the document with LiveCycle Reader Extensions and include the bar code usage right. It will work with Acrobat Standard/Pro.

  • How do you resize multiple artboards in Illustrator at the same time?

    Hi,
This is a question that has been bugging me for a while.  I'm currently on CS6 but I'm looking for a solution that can also work on CS5 for a co-worker.
Having multiple artboards has been established since CS4 and I have yet to see an official way of resizing multiple artboards, if anything there should at least be a plug-in.
As great of a feature it is, it seems a little short sited.  If one has multiple artboards one should be able to manage multiple artboards, right?
I totally love having multiple artboards but I should be able to resize and manage multiple artboards as well.
This is great for building icon sets but how can I resize the set all at once?
I was considering trying to do an action but odds are I still would have to select an artboard one by one to do which doesn't save much time if you have like 30 artboards to apply this to.
I don't even see a batch render for artboards and Photoshop has that for its files.
I'm well aware of the solution that is displayed here:
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1093465
Which is a script.  I'm not sure where I'm supposed to put it.

    mec_os wrote:
you can resize the artwork on export. no need to draw it to size.
Unfotunately when I looked into that does not seem to be the case.  However I can resize when I "Save for Web" but that appears to only work for one artboard at a time.  I can Save As or Export multipe artboards but not adjust the size.  Believe me I would be happy if I could resize multiple artboards upon export but apparently that is not an option.
    mec_os wrote:
you can put the scripts in illustrator's folder/presets/en_us(or whatever localization you have)/scripts. you can then access them in illustrator from the menubar/File/Scripts/
there are also applications that will let you execute scripts with assigned shortcuts. i believe sparks is free.
Thanks for pointing out the location.
Do I save it as a txt file or something else?
(I was guessing that I would copy the script into notepad or something)

  • How can I change the page size of a pdf so i can view it on my iphone more clearly?

How can I change the page size of a pdf so i can view it on my iphone more clearly?

I think there may be more to this question than you say.
If your PDF page is say, 8 x 12 inches, and you found a way to scale it to 25%, changing it to 2 x 3 inch, shrinking everything on the page to quarter size - wouldn't it look exactly the same on the iPhone? It's just going to be the same as zooming.
Or were you hoping for something more like in Word, where changing the page size keeps everything the same size and spreads it over more pages? That isn't something you can do.

  • How do I scan multiple documents to a single pdf from the ADF on my MX922?

How do I scan multiple documents to a single pdf from the ADF on my MX922?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi Riceburner1,
Since you have had difficulty scanning using My Image Garden, you can scan using the IJ Scan Utility program that also comes with the printer.  To do this, please follow these steps:
    1. Place the documents in the ADF or on the platen glass of the printer.
    2. Start the IJ Scan Utility.
        For Windows 8.1:
        1. On your keyboard, press the Windows key.
        2. Start typing IJ SCAN UTILITY. The search window opens as you type. Once the IJ SCAN UTILITY is displayed, please select and open it, then continue with Step 3 below.
        For Windows XP:
        1. Go to your START MENU, then select ALL PROGRAMS, then CANON UTILITIES, then the IJ SCAN UTILITY program.
        2. In the Canon IJ Scan Utility window that opens, click SETTINGS.... in the bottom right of the window. The Settings dialog box appears. Please continue with Step 3 below.
    3. In the Canon IJ Scan Utility window that opens, click SETTINGS.... in the bottom right of the window. The Settings dialog box appears.
    4. Click the DOCUMENT SCAN option on the left pane of the window. In the Select Source field of the Scan Options section, select DOCUMENT (ADF/PLATEN) to scan items placed directly on the platen glass, DOCUMENT (ADF SIMPLEX) to perform single-sided scanning from the ADF, or DOCUMENT (ADF DUPLEX) to perform double-sided scanning using the ADF. You can then set the item size, resolution, etc. in the Scan Options section as desired.
    5. In the SAVE SETTINGS section of the window, you will select the save format and location of the document you are about to scan.
a.) In the FILE NAME field, specify the name you would like to give the file. By default the filename will begin with IMG; you can remove IMG and change it to whatever you would like to name the file.  Please note that the filename that you give the document here will be the default filename for all items scanned until you change the file name.  If you leave the file name the same in the field, the scanned item will have a sequential number appended to the end of whatever name you give it.
b.) In the DATA FORMAT field, use the drop-down arrow to select the desired option. If you are scanning a multipage document, select the PDF (Multiple Pages) option.
c.) In the SAVE IN field, please navigate to the area where you would like the file to be saved once it is scanned in. By default, the file will be saved in the MY DOCUMENTS folder.
    6.  In the APPLICATION SETTINGS section of the window, please select the DO NOT START ANY APPLICATION option.
    7. Once all settings have been selected, click the OK button at the bottom of the SETTINGS (DOCUMENT SCAN) window. The IJ Scan Utility main screen appears.
    8. Click the DOCUMENT button. Scanning starts. Click the CANCEL button to cancel scanning if needed.   Once the scan is completed, scanned images are saved in the previously selected folder location specified in the SETTINGS... window.
    Hope this helps!
