If you have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar.

I hate the newest version of itunes. how do i revert back to an older version?

i cant stand the newest version of itunes. and now i cant figure out how to revert to an older version. i watched the tutorial but i still cant stand it. is there anyway to downgrade back to the way itunes was before this completely different version.

You can get closer to the old look with ctrl-b to turn on the menu bar and ctrl-s to turn on the sidebar, then select Artists from the selection of views across the top.
If you still want to roll back to iTunes 10.7 first download a copy of the installer fromhere, uninstall iTunes and suppporting software, i.e. Apple Application Support & Apple Mobile Device Support. Reboot. Restore the pre-upgrade version of your library database as per the diagram below, then install iTunes 10.7.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to scan the media folder and catch up with any changes made since the backup file was created.

In the meantime I have written two Windows scripts to make playlists of Duplicates and Exact Duplicates, either from a selection of tracks or the entire library. Note that, as with the iTunes feature, this list makes no distinction between "originals" and "dupes", you have to decide which is which.
There is also my DeDuper script for automatically removing duplicate copies but keeping one remaining copy of each set. This can preserve ratings, play counts, playlist membership, etc. which are lost in a manual clean up. Please take note of the warning to backup your library before deduping. See this thread for background on deduping and the script.
If you want to manually remove duplicate tracks use shift-delete to remove selected tracks from the library as well as the playlist. Keep one of each repeated group of files and don't send the others to the recycle bin unless you are sure that there are multiple files on the disc as opposed to multiple entries to the same file. On your Mac.....
Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
Click on the old TC, then click Edit
Click the Disks tab at the top of the window
Click Erase Disk
Select the Zero Out Data option.....which will take 4-6 hours depending on the size of the drive on the old TC......if you plan to sell the TC. If you plan to keep the TC, use the Quick Erase option.....which will only take a few minutes.
Click Erase
Click the Base Station Menu at the top of the screen
Click Restore Default Settings and follow the prompts
The disk has now been securely erased and the network settings have been reset back to factory defaults.

You need to buy a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD, install it, and run the 10.6.8 combo updater. Mac OS X 10.6 requires a Mac with an Intel CPU and at least 1GB of RAM.
