How Do I Restore A Replacement iPod Touch With the Backup From A Previous iPod Touch?

I recently received a replacement iPod Touch because of hardware issues with my previous one. I managed to back up my last iPod Touch with iCloud, I also recall using iCloud to restore it from backup after I first updated to iOS 5. All I'm looking to do is to restore everything exactly as it was (app data etc) on my last iPod before I had it replaced. Yet, when I attempt to restore it from back up, it restores with the wrong back up.

See if the lnk given here helps:

    how can i restore a iPhone 4s (ios7) with a backup from from a iphone5 (ios8.1.1)?
When I try Easing All Content and Restore. It backup's to ios7. Then I'm unable to install the backup that i have in the cloud.
    Help!

    Are you sure it's a 4S and not a 4?
You can't restore a backup made with a newer version of iOS to a phone running an older one. You must update the phone to the newer version of iOS, wipe it again, then restore the backup.

  • How do I replace my software with a backup from my Time Machine?

I keep losing my cursor when I come back from sleep mode, so I am unable to shut down  the computer, am forced to crash by  holding down  the Power Button. The apple store said my hardware is fine, so I might have to reinstall all my software and thus replace my system with a backup version from my TIme Machine. I'm not sure how to proceed with this at home.

Suggest that you take a look at the excellent resource provided by Time Capule / Time Machine guru Pondini.

If you are not comfortable with this,I  would also suggest that you consider havng a qualified Apple repair shop perform this for you.

  • I plugged my iPhone for the first time to my computer, the iTunes screen came up and asked if I wanted to register the phone as a new phone or with the backup from my iPod. By accident, I clicked on the backup from my iPod, and I lost everything.

    Hi,
I plugged my iPhone for the first time to my computer. The iTunes screen automatically came up and asked if I wanted to register/set-up my iPhone as new phone or using the backup from my iPod. Without knowing what was going to happen, I clicked on the backup from my iPod and then I lost everything I already had in my phone: mostly contacts and pictures. Although afraid of the answer, is there a solution to retrieving the info, especially the pictures?
    Thank you!

by any chance did you do a back up to iCloud? if not there isn't a way to retrieve lost info with out a back up.

  • Hi apple, I have the new ipad with retina display, i have however cracked the screen pretty badly. I was just wondering how much it is to replace this ipad with the same one. It is a 32gig. Thanks

    Hi apple,
I have the new ipad (4th gen) with retina display. Yesterday I cracked the screen pretty badly. I was just wondering how much it is to replace it with the same ipad. I have the 32gig ipad with wifi.
    Thanks

The iPad will be $329 AUD if replaced via postage service or $309 AUD if replaced at an Apple Store. Yes they will give you the replacement and take your old iPad so I would suggest if you can back it up to iTunes so that you can restore the back up to the replacement.

  • How do I retrieve the backup from my previous iPod to apply to my new iPod?

I attempted to retrieve the backup immediately, but it said that I needed to first set up my new iPod, then I could retrieve the backup. I synced the new Pod, so all of my music and apps have been transferred, but I cannot figure out how to return to the backup retrieval page.
Also, I am mainly concerned with this to retrieve progress in some of my games. Is this something I will restore through the backup, or is that all lost?
    Thanks!

  • How can i use my synology iTunes Server with the iTunes from my iPad?

Have anybody the Same Constalation @ home? I like to have Access to my synology iTunes Server from my iPad via iTunes without a thirdparty App, to have Access to the Central Data like Music, etc.? Have some One expirence with the configuration and implementation?

It will almost certainly not be possible. If you don't sign up for AT&T service for the iPad, then replace your Sprint card with a MiFi or Overdrive device from Sprint. This will use your Sprint service, but connect to your iPad using Wi-Fi. It also has the advantage of you being able to use it with any Wi-Fi capable device. IOW, you can use both your laptop and iPad at the same time with the MiFi or Overdrive, but only have to pay for one Sprint account. Of course, all devices that connect to the MiFi or Overdrive will use up your 5GB allotment, unless you use Overdrive in a 4G area. (Overdrive is unlimited on 4G, but has a 5GB cap in 3G areas.)

  • How to use mathscript node in server side with the parameter from the client side

I tried to develop a server/client system with some algorithms written in matlab. So I included a mathscript node on the server side. The client will send the parameter to the server. According to these parameters, the sever will call the matlab functions to do some computings and then send the results back to the client. The server has to wait for all parameters received before the computings. How do I know this since I only connect the parameter variables to the inputs of mathscript node on the server. The sever cannot know whethere these parameters are the new ones or old ones since the client may send parameters multiple times?

It seems to me you have two perfectly good options to start with. You could send all possible parameters in a single packet from the client to the server. This could be in the form of a cluster or an array of values. If by server/client you mean you are sending data over the network, then you could flatten this data to string before sending and unflatten it on the other side. Since all parameters come in one packet, you know all the data is valid every time you send data.
The other option is to send the parameters individually, but include some extra information such as a timestamp or iteration count. The server keeps reading and storing parameter values until a packet arrives with the next timestamp. Alternatively, you could include some information such as an end-of-parameter-list boolean that is sent with every parameter. It would be false until the last parameter packet.
Give it a thought. There are lots of solutions.

  • How do you sync your IPhone's ICalendar with the ICalendar from your mac?

I am having trouble figuring out how to export the calendar on my computer (a mac) with the calendar on my IPhone 4. When I plug in my IPhone to the computer, it does not show up as an option to export on the ICalendar.

    You don't need to export.
Connect your iPhone to Mac's iTunes
Select your iPhone in iTunes under DEVICES
    Choose the Info tab
    Select Sync iCal Calendar. (CHECKED)
Click Sync button bottom right, done.

The backup that iTunes makes does not include apps, music, synced videos and photos. Se:

You will have to sync the items back form yur computer/iTunes library to the iPod via iTunes. If they are not on the computer you can redownloa d some iTunes purchases by:

  • I got new iphone and when i connect it to my pc, it lost all my current data and replaced it with the backup on my computer, which is from april. so i have lost all my calendar information and schedule. does anyone know how i can reverse this?

i got new iphone and when i connect it to my pc, it lost all my current data and replaced it with the backup on my computer, which is from april. so i have lost all my calendar information and schedule. does anyone know how i can reverse this and get my information back?

Every backup replaces the old one, so, unless you included the backup folder in your computer backup routine, you can't get back your calendar info.
The only time iTunes will not replace a backup is, when you use it to restore from, this one will stay in the backup list in iTunes.

i plugged my iphone 4S into my computer for the first time and then my photos were replaced with the ones from my old iphone, how do i get them back?

Try restoring from the backup created at the beginning of the sync process:
Without connecting your phone, open iTunes, go to Preferences, on the Devices tab check "Prevent...from syncing automatically"
Connect your phone, right-click on the name of your phone when it appears on the left sidebar in iTunes
Select Restore from backup, choosing your most recent backup to restore from
Disconnect your phone and confirm that your photos are back
Go back to iTunes>Preferences>Devices and re-enable automatic syncing.
