How do I restore bookmarks in iBooks on my iPad after upgrading to iOS7? (Note: restore was done from an old iCloud backup)
Thanks in advance for the help.
Here are the details:
-Upgraded iPad to iOS7
-All of my iBooks needed to be re-downloaded as a result
-The bookmarks in each iBook disappeared
How can I get them back? This was across multiple books.
Yes, if I right click on a profile in the profile manager when I start Firefox it shows me the path to the profile. It is in the AppData\Roaming section.
For the sake of brevity I haven't typed in the full path name, just enough to let you know where I am putting them, I hope.
I put it there. No good.
I just looked at the profile I restored to the AppData\Local section ( it seems Firefox puts a copy there too ) and merged the one that showed the Cache folders which came from my backup disk with the profile of the same name in the Roaming section.
Still no go. No bookmarks showing up. If I click on the profile folder it shows the Cache files etc. are all there but it doesn't do anything.
This has gotten very aggravating. All files seem to be where they should be but it doesn't work.

How do I restore my iphone from a previous icloud backup?
Here's the senario...
My father had his iphone replaced under warranty. The new phone is configured to his number but he has none of his apps, pictures, ect. I was looking for a way to restore his phone to a previous icloud back up.
How do I do this?See http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766
When you go through Setup Assistant on a new iOS 5 device, choose "Restore from iCloud Backup" and enter your iCloud account and password. You will see the three most recent backups for each of the devices on which you enabled Backup. Choose from which backup to restore.
After your device restarts, your settings and accounts are restored and Backup starts downloading your purchased music, TV shows, apps, books, Camera Roll, and other content*. You may be prompted to enter the passwords for all accounts enabled on your device.
A progress bar will appear underneath the apps that are being downloaded. To prioritize the restore of a specific app, tap its icon. Restore will attempt to download the same version of the app that you had installed previously. If that version is no longer available, the latest version of the app will be restored.
To check if the restore is complete, go to Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup. Complete the setup assistant after erasing your device (by going to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings) or after starting your new device. When prompted to set up as new or to restore from previous backup, choose to restore from iCloud backup. Then enter your AppleID and password. -

How do I restore the computer from a system image backup?
Hi, Please help me.
I am running Windows 8.1 Pro on a HP Compac DX 7500
After a misfortune installation of VirtualBox I decided to make a system restore to the restore point I created just before the installation. That did not work at all.
Windows 8.1 does not boot any longer.
I have the following options for booting:
* Normal boot Result: Logging in Then welcome. Than black
Esc Boot menu I can select different drives for booting
When selecting primary HD Same result as normal boot.
I could boot from CD or DVD and maybe from an USB.
F9 Diagnostic boot When running it I get the error code. See 1) below
F10 Setup Entering BIOS
F11 Recovery Same result as normal boot.
F12 Boot from LAN
I have located the Windows Image backup folders. Should I put the image folder on a DVD or an USB drive and boot from that or how should I do?
1) Boot path testing. Error code: BIOHD-4 Uninitialized / corrupt boot structure detected.
RegardsIf you got it by download and are still using the same Apple_ID, it is still sitting on Apple's Mac App store for re-download whenever necessary, such as after you wipe your computer.

How do i restore my Macbook from an old Disk
Okay so i bought a Macbook back in 2010 (The old style white one). It has came to the point in its life where it is on its last legs, after three years it has been filled with multiple programs that I do not longer use and files that i do not longer access. I would like to totally reformat my Macbook so that it is totally clean.
My problem is, I only have the OS disk that came with the Macbook (Snow Leopard). Over the past couple of years i have upgraded the OS of my Macbook by downloading the latest changes online.
How can i be able to restore my Macbook using the Snow Leopard disk and then upgrade again to the latest OS?
Will it charge me again for upgrading?
Will I have to go through all of the oppertating system upgrades?
I have not yet upgraded to OS X Mavericks will this cause a problem?
Any information on this would be great.
Thanks.Yes you can erase the drive and reinstall OS 10.6 from the original disk.
1. Put the disk in and restart the computer while holding the C key down. (The letter C.)
2. When the computer boots you will see the beginning of the OS installation, and have to select a language.
3. On the next screen there is a menu bar. Click Utilities on the menu bar and select Disk Utility.
4. When DU is running, select the hard drive in the left hand column, format should be Mac OS extended journaled, then click Erase.
5. When that task is done, quit DU and proceed with the installation. It will take some time.
6. The computer will restart after the installation is completed and show you an awful noisy welcoming screen.
Then you have to enter information about yourself.
7. Run Software update to get to OS 10.6.8.
Now you can go to the App store and find your previous purchases. You will not have to pay for them again. And you do not have install them one at a time. If for example you want 10.9, and your computer can handle it, go directly to 10.9.1 from 10.6.8. -
How do I restore an App from a Time Machine backup?
My computer has been acting up lately and I have tried many fixes to no avail. I finally decided to just wipe the computer and start fresh, slowly bringing back my files to see if the problem still persist. So far I have been fine. I had to go back to using Mountain Lion because Mavericks wasn't working for me. I now have a blank computer and instead of restoring with my time machine backup, I'm only bringing over necessary files. There are, however, a few apps that I need from my time machine (for example, iPhoto). Is there a way to restore just an app from a time machine back up? Since I wiped the computer, it doesn't recognize my time machine back up as a time machine back up. I don't want to pay $15 for iPhoto when I already have it sitting on a hard drive.
If you got it by download and are still using the same Apple_ID, it is still sitting on Apple's Mac App store for re-download whenever necessary, such as after you wipe your computer.

How can I get the photos from my old icloud backup on to my computer?
I got a replacement phone and now there are 2 iphone backups. There's the old phone with the pictures on it I would like to put on to my windows 8 pc. I can't figure out how to get them. I can't restore them to my iphone because I already have another file in icloud for that. How can I get the old file with my pictures on to my computer??
You can only access them by restoring the backup to your phone. You can backup your phone (such as by backing it up to your computer using iTunes), restore the old backup, transfer the recovered photo to your computer (iOS: Import personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer), then restore the backup you made earlier to return your phone to its current state.

How can I restore my data from iCal? I didn't make any backup, but I use time machine with an external HD. I deleted iCal when I deleted my gmail account. I have tried to restore, but I can only restore the iCal software and not the data.
So what is your question?
If you forgot your encryption password:
Warning: Make sure it's a password you will remember or write it down for safekeeping. If you encrypt an iPhone backup in iTunes and forget your password, you can't restore from backup and your data will be unrecoverable.
If you can't remember the password and want to start again, you must perform a full software restore and chooseset up as a new device when iTunes prompts you to select the backup from which to restore.
The above comes from here:

Having a bad day my iTunes library got corrupted and my back up disk has failed how can I restore my purchases from the iTunes store? When I try it tells me the pruchases have already been downloaded to this computer.
Does your purchased rmusic appears under the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) ? If they do and you don't have the cloud symbol against them so as to re-download them, then do you still have the entries for them in your library i.e. where you would normally click on them to play them ? If you do then try deleting them from there (iTunes will be seeing them and assuming that you still have them somewhere) and they should then get the cloud symbol for re-downloading in the Purchased link.
If you aren't in a country where music can be re-downloaded then you could try contacting iTunes support and see if they will grant you a re-download : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page,
