How do I restore loss of sound in audio tracks?

I use Premier Elements on Windows 7 32Bt. I had a fully edited Expert project with audible sound tracks. I added narration which was recorded as audible sound in the narration track. However all other audio tracks although showing visual wave forms were now mute. The mixer showed no tracks set to mute and I can find no way to regain audio in any other tracks.Can you suggest a solution? have there been any updates to solve this?

There is a 12.1 Update for Premiere Elements 12 if that is the Premiere Elements version that you have.

As for the loss of audio associated with narration addition to the project using the Premiere Elements 12 Narration Tool, that is a known issue with no known fix.
If you start a new project, does the problem persist?
There was only one user who believed she found a way to resolve this problem that happened to her. Others have yet to confirm it. And, try as I do, I cannot force the appearance of the problem so that I can work on a fix. Some think to possibilities of moving the narration to an audio track or creating the narration in a free audio editor such as Audacity and then importing the narration produced there in Premiere Elements as media. But, as of now, no firm answers.
I will see if I can find the post of a few months ago with what worked for this other Premiere Elements user.

How can I change the gain on one audio track in the selection? Is there a way to adjust the gain as it is implemented for example in cubase - pull waveform up and gain varies?

I'm not sure what you mean by "in the selection", or, more honest: I don't understand that at all.
So, instead I'm going to tell you that you can indeed adjust the Gain of one or more selected region(s) in the Region inspector on the left hand side.

How do you make a audiomixdown of 4 Audio Tracks in a Sequenz ?

I have the following Problem.
A Sequenz with 4 different Audio tracks. 2 Tracks with ambience sound,1 channel with voice over and 1 channel with the interview sound.
For the final playout i need on channel 1 the final mix of all 4 tracks and on channel 2 the IT Mix (ambience sound and Interviews sound).
Now my question how do i make a audiomixdown of the different channel , with the Avid mediacomposer it is quite easy you select the desired tracks and make a mixdown. Is there also an mixdown option in Finalcut?

Welcome to the forums.
Well, you can ASSIGN what audio channel the various tracks of audio get output to. But I don't think you can do what you are asking. Because once you assign track 2, 3, and 4 to go out CH 1, then you cannot again assign them to go out to CH 2. The sound can only go out one channel at a time.
Best thing would be to export AIFF files from the timeline with all the tracks you need...turn off the ones you don't need when you export for CH2.

Does anyone know how to create an OGG Theora video (.ogv) from an audio track and one still image. I just want one video frame to repeat until the audio file is finished playing. Make sense? Any help would be appreciated, and if possible I'd love to do it with ffmpeg2theora. Thanks!

I've tested it w/ 'ffmpeg -loop_input -f image2 -i image.jpg -i sound.mp3 blah.avi' and the output works w/ mplayer but I had issues w/ .ogg and .ogv output.

How do I add a quicktime (10.0) audio track to imovie (8.0.6)?

I would like to add a quicktime (10.0) audio track to imovie (8.0.6). The audio is in .mov format. When I go to import it, it is grey and will not allow me to click on it. I tried to put it into itunes and select it from there but I can't figure out how.

You might have more success converting it into an AIFF file.
Try this: Download MPEG Streamclip, it's a free utility that allows you to do a lot of different conversions on audio and video clips. What we're going to to try is save an AIFF to 48kHz and re-import it into iMovie and see if there's a difference.
Once you download MPEG Streamclip, open it and go to File Menu> Open Files... and navigate out to your AIFF file. Make sure the drop down list at the bottom of the window has All Files listed (instead of just Audio or just Video). If you don't show all files, it will gray out files it doesn't recognize. Once you have your audio clip selected, click Open.
From the File Menu > Export Audio... choose AIFF and under Sample rate: choose 48kHz. Click OK
Save the clip to the Desktop, maybe give it a different name (say #2 added to the end). Quit MPEG Streamclip. In iMovie drag your new AIFF file to the project timeline.

How do you control the volume of multiple audio tracks

I have about eight tracks of audio in my Finalcut timeline. When played, sometimes the music track will be much louder than the narration track or the FXs track will be louder than the all tracks.
How do I lower or raise the volume of tracks so that the track that needs to heard is heard.
I dont want to do an all out mix yet. I'm just building tracks

Select all of your audio, go to the Modify > Audio > Apply Audio Normalization. It will bring all clips in each track to be the same level. Then, later, you can do your final mix much easier.
Or go to Window > Arrange > Audio Mixing and you'll have an on-screen mixing board to work with. There's a speaker icon in the top right, green keyframing is on while you mix in realtime during playback, gray, keyframing is off.
But use the first method first, for sure. Open the audio mixer after that, you'll save yourself a ton of work and time.

How do I separate a video from an audio track?

I imported an edited .AVI file into iMovie HD. I want to reedit it, but am a complete novice. I would like to realign and edit certain audio in that file with reedited video (sorta basic editing I guess). When I drag clips into the Timeline Viewer it seems that the video and audio are one or at least inseparable. I have no idea how, or if I can, separate the audio track from the video track. Could someone please lend some guidance. Thanks very much.

If a clip is in the timeline you can choose Advance>Extract Audio. That will place a copy of the clips audio in one of the two audio tracks.
From there you can do what you want with it.

I recently Reset my G5 and now have to Re-Install a lot of my audio software. I was operating with an option of 4 inputs on my Audio Tracks and now after re-installing, there are only 2. I was using Input 3 to record vocals, how do I get the 2 missing Inputs back ?

My Driver is set on Aggregate Device. Im running my mic through my Pioneer Djm600 turntables and into my M-Audio MobilePre USB interface. I can see that the interface in recieving the signals but Logic isn't. Previous to this hold up, I'd been recording vocals on Input 3 on the Audio Track. It was just always there. But now, after reseting my computer inputs 3 & 4 are no longer there. I tried the relaunch option with out success. I'm frustrated, being that I had everything the way i liked it and now it feels like i'm starting over.
If I can somehow hook up Logic to record vocals on inout 2 thats great. What do you think ?

How do i remove buzz and hiss from audio track?

I'm using Premiere Elements 13, Windows 8, 64 bit
My original film has some hiss and buzz that I would like to remove. I tried applying DeNoiser and New Blue Hum Remover, but neither seemed to make a difference. Perhaps I need to tweek the tools to make them suppress more of the unwanted sound? Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

If the Premiere Elements audio effects are not working for you, please check out the noise removal offered by the free audio editor named Audacity. Have you used that before?

No sound from audio tracks

I am trying to edit some clips with a background song. I have placed one song into the timeline with no problem but now when I add new audio clips and files they don't play! I can make the original sound on the clips play or mute but nothing added to the project will play.
Are there any fixes for this? (I have tried consoludate media with no success.)

I have an audio track, mp3, originally recorded in GarageBand, but with an recording level set too low. I've now adjusted the volume in the audio track to the max, but during playback it's still rather quiet. I have to turn the volume on my Mac to the max to have it at an acceptable playback level. ok you probably thought this was stupid, the title doesn't really explain the problem. So i recorded a video game gameplay and the game and voice audio are different, like on xbox you can adjust each, so voice is louder than game and vice versa. The problem is the game audio volume (lets say) is too high, and you can barely hear the voice. I don't know if its possible to do but can i lower the higher volumed game and increase the low volumed voice. i am using audition cs6

If they are overlayed then there isn't realy anything you can do. If they aren't overlaid then you can use various tools in Audition to match the volumes better. Is the game audio in stereo or mono? And is the voice in the centre if the two are mixed together as a stereo track?
