How do I restore my data and programs?
I have an iMac desktop running 10.4.6.
After a normal shut down, I started the computer only to see the default desktop pattern and only about half the normal apps in the dock. Upon opening the few apps, no data is shown. iPhoto shows no pics, iCal and Address book are empty, Office programs are missing, and the Finder display is completely different than before. The contact and calendar information is backed up on the BlackBerry.
How can I restore the data?

Boot from a backup clone on Firewire (or install OS X on FireWire if you don't have one now). You don't want to do much w/o a backup or without an emergency system.
You need backups from which to do any restore.
You could have a corrupt directory.
Intel or PPC? You could at least VERIFY with your OS X Install DVD. Disk Warrior is PPC only. TechTool Pro 4.5.2 works on Intel Macs as well as PPC.
You could try repairing by booting into Single User Mode (command s) and running fsck command (it even prompts and shows you). If you already had installed Applejack 1.4.3 you could use that as well.
Backup backup backup. You can use Tiger DVD Disk Utility Restore to copy a partition to another disk drive (ie, Firewire) with a suitably empty partition.

If you forgot your encryption password:
Warning: Make sure it's a password you will remember or write it down for safekeeping. If you encrypt an iPhone backup in iTunes and forget your password, you can't restore from backup and your data will be unrecoverable.
If you can't remember the password and want to start again, you must perform a full software restore and chooseset up as a new device when iTunes prompts you to select the backup from which to restore.

How can i restore my data synchronised from a serv...
I use Nokia C3-00, And in My country synchronisation with server is not available except i perform phone switch or with a PC...But in thesame country of mine there is a server people use to synchronise...And when i tried it on my phone with the settings given to me...I synchronised my contacts,notes and calender...and the phone said 'synchonisation sucessfull' but after i restored my phone coz it had an error..and restoring it deleted my data(contacts,notes etc)...Now my question is, how can i restore my data(contacts,notes) that i synchronised ? Coz i checked d phone...i did not see an option to restore d data.....And if i can't, i'm sorry but nokia put that 'sync with server' feature just for fun ...
TSNA - My system crashed 1/2 way through opening up Parallels. I use Parallels for Quicken & Quickbooks only. My system locked up & I had to power down to get any response on the screen. When it started back up I got a screen that said Restore from Time Machine, Safe Startup (or some such words) and one other choice. NONE of which would do anything. - No response to any clicking, entering, up down etc. I called over my Apple friend and he could not get it going,. Ended up having to Reload O/S from the startup disks and reformat my hard drive. Reformatted because I wanted to get rid of Parallels which has painfully slowed down my entire system. I never keep it open unless I am working with Quickbooks or Quicken. Therefore I had decided to start using Boot Camp anyway. So I would have had to reformat my hard drive to do that regardless of this freeze up of my system.
This whole thing has taken days to get my documents off Time Capsule. Time Machine would then not restore to my "new" or reformatted hard drive, so all the files on the Time Capsule were hidden. Total nightmare !
Because now I can't get iPhoto APP back on my system as it is not available and have to use the new PHOTO which I hear is not good. -

iTunes does prompt when it is going to erase a device, and the message is clear.
She said in her message that she was able to successfully sync the old ipad. This indicated to me that itunes wiping the data was not an issue, because either it had been setup at the apple store (in which case it doesn't actually wipe the ipad despite saying it will*) (*based on a single case I saw), or because the itunes media folder was migrated.
Furthermore, my solution was to tell her how to backup her ipad (by either doing it manually, or as a last resort, by deleting the corrupt backup -- that she couldn't access anyway.)
I got that last part of the instructions from the "Taking Control of your iphone" book which I found samples of when I did a google search for "corrupted backup itunes".
She marked this as a solution, so it worked for her. -

There's Setup Assistant and Migration Assistant. The cleanest way to do it is Setup Assistant, but you only get that option once when you fire up a fresh install of OSX. If you're past that, you could reinstall OSX by booting with Command-R, or you could use Migration Assistant.

I just upgraded from the iPhone 4 to 4s. I had backed up the old phone backed up to iCloud. How do I restore that data to my new iphone? Even though I had photostream on, it never synched. I installed iCloud for the pc and can see the backup up in the cloud. I just want to get all the data to the new phone.
When you go through the new phone setup, it should ask if you want to setup as new or restore from iCloud. If you have already setup as new, you will have to reset the 4S to factory settings, and go through setup again.

You can't see the data inside the backup, and you can't restore just part of the data if that's what you're asking. To see the data you have to restore the entire backup.

How do I transfer app datas and notes manually?

I've seen the Lifehacker method from 2012 (iExplorer) but I am unsure if it works. Them making a video would help.

I know the function "write to spreadsheet file.vi"
can append the data
to file. You can use the "concatenate strings" to display the date,
time as well as data... Hope this help.
