So I just bought an iPhone 4s and wanted to add all my stuff (songs, apps, photos). I just got some new songs on my iPod touch and wanted to add it to my iTunes library. I didn't buy the songs, I downloaded them from a website. My mom deleted everything from my computer and only saved photos and files to a USB. So when I went on iTunes, my library had nothing in it. So I figured I would sync my songs on my iPod to the library. But it asked me if I wanted to erase and sync which I did, which left me with no songs on my iPod! I don't know if it's too late to get all the songs back? By the way I'm using windows 7. Also, since I don't know how to get my songs back, I still have songs on my iPod video and tried to add that to my library and figured I would just add those songs to my iPod touch. But when I tried adding the songs to my library, it wouldn't let me. So if someone could help me that would great! I've tried googling everything but nothings has really worked.

The songs are gone from the iPod touch since you erased the touch.
To copy non-iTunes purchased music from an iPod to a computer you need a third-party program like one of those discussed here:

First, setup a different ID for your wife so you can maintain independent contacts, messages, icloud backups, etc. There is no cost, and it will keep you from having another disappearing contact issue again.
You can't retrieve contacts that have been deleted. The addresses you see are cached and can simply be added back as new contacts once you each have your own independent ID set up on each phone.
You can however use 1 Apple ID for your iTunes and App Store purchases so you don't need to pay twice for the same apps.

If you have accidentally removed bookmarks then use "Organize > Undo" in the bookmarks manager (Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks) to get them back.
The Organize button is the first of the three buttons on the toolbar in the Library (Bookmarks Manager).
That only works if you haven't closed Firefox.
Otherwise you need to restore the bookmarks from a JSON backup.
That will replace all the current bookmarks and you lose bookmarks that were added since that backup was created.

I accidentally deleted a whole Genre and many songs, rather then delete one duplicate song, which is what i wanted. Most songs not from ITUNEs store but from disks, whihc i no longer have. As a result, i've deleted many fav. songs. I cannot find in ITUNES Library. You have posted to the iTunes Match forum, but it is unclear whether you have an iTunes Match subscription. Do you? If not, iTunes Match can not help you. If you do have a subscription please describe how the songs were deleted. If the files are no longer physically on your computer and you do not see them in the iTunes library with a cloud download icon this means they have also been deleted from iTunes Match and are not recoverable.
The most eficatious way to restore the missing songs will be to restore from the backups you have been making of your personal data. You have been backing up your data to an external HDD, haven't you?

My problem is: I began to change all my music to mp3 then deleted the m4p files from my library (approx 500 songs). The reason for this is that I have Sandisk MP3 player that will not play m4p format. My reasoning for deleting the m4p files was that I didn't see a reason for keeping duplicate music files since itunes plays both. I noticed when dowloading from store that it still formats in m4p and i lost the records for my previously purchased music from store. I'm not sure the best approach to managing these music files. I'm thinking that restoring itunes back to m4p files for itunes and moving the mp3 files to another folder for use with sandisk mp3 player. All my m4p files are in my recycle bin so can recover them easily but how can I restore these files to my itunes library???

Once you restore the files simply drag them back into iTunes and you should be all set. Or click on File and then click on Add a File or Folder and choose the folder where all of the files are located and iTunes will add them automatically.
