Do you have a second hand device and the Activation Lock has not been removed by the previous owner?

What different Apple ID? Yours? Your friends? Your dogs... ? I think we are going to need more information. You're probably best setting up the phone as a new phone and restoring from iCloud later on.

I cannot sign into icloud on my phone because the Apple ID is an email account that has been deactivated and deleted. How can I change my Apple ID without having to change the primary email address to this non-existent account? If I did so, I wouldn't be able to access the account to receive the verification email. Please help!
To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iDevice, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use. When you do this you may find that the password for your old ID isn't accepted. If this should happen, and if your old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, you need to temporarily recreate your old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You should not need to verify the old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

Iphone 5 keeps randomly asking me to enter the password for my flickr account??
When I open a contact on my phone, it asks me to "enter the password for the Yahoo! account "Flickr"". Which makes absolutely no sense. Flickr is hard coded into my phone and keeps asking for this and I don't have a flickr account. Any ideas??
I've tried everything, uninstalling flickr, setting up an account with flickr and registering an account, deleting my accounts, syncing my phone, updating, EVERYTHING, with no luck. I previously had an iPhone 4 which has since been put away in a drawer now that I have an iPhone 5. I would like to give my iphone 4 to someone else to use but could not remember my passcode - have tried a few times (I believe I have one more try before it gets disabled - so I have stopped trying). Read somewhere that you can just restore your phone which works for me as I wanted to clear it anyway. When I connect my phone to itunes and clicked on restore it said update and restore which I clicked on and left it to do its work. However, a while later an error code popped up saying that it could not update or back up the phone as the phone was locked . Now my phone just has the itunes logo on it but when I connect the phone to the computer and I manually open itunes, my phone is not recognised.

I was updating to the new ios8. I got to where I could choose a backup method from icloud or iTunes. My very latest backup was on icloud yesterday so I went with icloud. It showed me backups from yesterday, Oct 9th, and Oct 8th. I chose yesterday. I was then prompted to enter the Apple ID password for "this just in [email protected]" (no spaces). I have no freaking clue who's account that is but it IS NOT mine. So I hit the back button and tried with the other two but got the same thing. This is freaking me out now. Does someone else have access to my cloud? How do I restore my phone now since I obviously do not have the password for this account? What do I do? I'm ******!
Did you buy a used iPhone? It appears that it's locked to that account.

Go to Settings>General>Reset and tap Erase All Content and Settings. This will erase your device. Then you will go through the setup screens again as you did when your device was new, and when given the option, select Restore from iCloud Backup.

Your phone is in recovery mode. Did you plug it to the computer running itunes? What happend?
